Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Weekend The hotel is welcoming in every respect - room, food and service. Fantastic location on Sand Key Beach, next to a lovely park that lets one really enjoy a relaxing vacation. The dinner at Rusty's was well presented and very tasty. Very nice stay. October 19, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great place to stay. Our family spent the weekend here prior to going to Disney because my 4 year old wanted to go to the beach also. The staff was great, very helpful, and PROMPT!!! The room was what I expected, very clean, the bed was comfortable (King) The only down side is the pillows are WAY TOO SOFT, and they will charge you for a mini fridge. The beach was great, the pool was a little small for the size of the hotel. Overall this was a great place to stay! Sincerely, The Morris family, October 11, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent resort hotel This hotel had an amazing location but the rooms and bathrooms were standard run of the mill Sheraton. I do not think it was a good value for the money. The staff at the pool and the pool bar seemed very surly and unwelcoming. For years I have stayed at Sheratons (more than 50 nights a year each year) and this was definitely not one of my favorites. Rated 4 out of 5 by wonderful weekend Stayed 2 nights for our anniversary celebration. thought we wanted a room on the grnd floor facing the pool. The room had a view of only shrubs and smelled funky. Changed rooms - no problem. Got room 746 facing north east. Looked out on Sand Key park with the bridge to clearwater beach in the distance and a small section of gulf beaches to the northwest. No sunset view but we were at outdoor restaurants both nights for sunset so the west facing rooms were not worth the $40 upcharge. Loved the room. Clean, fresh-smelling, great bed and linens. Needed a minifrig. Came quickly. $5/day. (They overcharged us by 2 days for the frig-glad I checked the bill.) Staff was super professional, friendly and prompt. Housekeeping came within 5 min to take the down out of the room - allergic. Towels were not luxurious but clean and fluffy enough. Bathroom was tiny but clean. Everything in the room was new looking and fresh. The only negative - if we have the opportunity to go back we won't get room 746. Every night we were awoken by loud scraping sounds above us. Sounded like furniture being dragged across hard flooring. Never did ask about that but there was a conference going on the same weekend. The gym was small but well equipped with great ocean views. No steam rooms or sauna though. Not really what I'd expect considering they just renovated and call themselves a resort. Too bad. The outdoor pool area and 2 hot tubs were very nice. The water in the hot tubs was Hot. Just right. The pool guys wese very friendly, one in particular was very good with two little rambunctous boys, obviously loved his job - kept the towels coming and the pool deck spotless. The ocean was much farther from the pool than the pictures online lead you to believe. It was a long 150+ yard walk to the water. But all of the hotels and condos on sand key are the same. Just make sure to bring a small cooler for drinks and don't forget anything in ur room once you hit the beach cause once you're there that walk is too far to quickly get back to the rooms. Great fruit salad at the well-stocked convenience store by the elevators. Can't speak to the restaurants. Didn't want to eat with no ocean view. Will go back if we have the opportunity. Staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Almost everyone of them actually had conversations with us when approached and not simply answered questions. The onsite restaurant offerings for breakfast and dinner were more than sufficient and very tasty. We thorougly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this location. Sunsets were magnificent! Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely hotel on the beach. We were totally pleased with every aspect of the hotel and enjoyed our vacation immensely. The employees couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. It was nice to have a little general store handy too. The only thing that we would like to suggest is a shuttle of some kind to the beach for those of us that can't walk that far. It was a hike! We are local residents, so when our plans to go elsewhere fell through at the last minute, we decided to give the Sheraton at Sand Key a try since we love the location. The staff went above and beyond our expectations when they discovered it was a special occasion, they took care of us like no one else could. We loved every minute of it and we will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to the front desk and the rest of the Sheraton staff for a memorable stay! September 25, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Despite a horrible soundproofing, the amenities are excellent. My wife and I went to Clearwater for a weekend getaway. We arrived at the hotel late at night on Friday. The valet attendant was not happy we did not allow him to help with our minimal luggage load. When I refused his help, he had a comment I found rather curt. My wife simply felt sorry for him. She followed him as he was walking away from us and tipped him for opening her vehicle door. The reception desk crew had a better attitude although the reservation package we bought was not honored as expected. We were assigned a room which was way overpriced considering the size, amenities, and noise level we were exposed to in the early morning hours. We felt we were downgraded, which is a departure from the Starwood Club promise to provide upgrades to their members whenever possible. A downgrade is unacceptable. We were told the hotel did not have an SPG member floor. That was a lie. The 7th floor is the designated SPG member floor. We stayed on the 8th floor contrary to our hotel reservation agreement. Our purchase papers specified that free internet was included in the package. At the reception desk, we were asked to choose between free internet, a drink or 250 points as a welcome gift. The internet access suddenly became optional?! That was one more mismanaged element of our stay at the Sheraton Sand key Resort. Now, we must say it was extremely easy to correct these problems. After 2 consecutive visits to the reception desk the following day, we were upgraded to a suite and given an access code to the hotel internet service. We did not have to argue or fight with anyone to get satisfaction. We simply stated the problems and they were fixed. We believe the resort means well and does have the means to do so despite some rogue elements. We would not mind going back there. September 24, 2012

Spectacular view of the pool area and the Gulf. We have already recommended this facility to family and friends who are planning on visiting the area. We can't wait to visit again! September 21, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Evaluations Improve the Product Carpeting in the hallway of 7th floor was loose and buckled. It appeared to have been repaired at least once. It needs to be replaced. Room carpet needs to be checked out also. The bathroom is tiny and because of its size makes closing the door a noticeable inconveneince. The lack of a sink and vanity inside the bathroom is also a negative. The outside sink would be a plus if there was an inside one as well. The location and staff are excellent and I would recommend this hotel based on those factors. September 20, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous, as always! Would have liked the Island Grill to have stayed open for dinner. Pool guard is VERY grumpy! Pool could be extended, gets very full at the wk ends. The owner of the hotel went above and beyond making our stay special. He is a fantastic host and we all had a fabulous time that we will never forget. Thankyou! X September 15, 2012
