Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant but traditional! We just got back from a one week stay at the Westin Denauru. This hotel exceeded our expectations in both service and the look of the hotel. It is the only traditional Fijian style hotel in the area. We made a point of looking at other hotels on the island to see if we would stay anywhere else next time. But we came back pleased to be staying at the Westin. The other resorts appeared to be huge and overcrowded with outdated decor. The Westin is suited to people who want a more laid back experience. There are no screaming kids running a muck (although kids are well catered for) or loud yobbo's by the pool. You can always get a chair by the pool and quite a bit of shade from the beautiful trees. The pool is beautiful! Our daughter loved the kids club run by the Sheraton, the lovely ladies picked her up and brought her back. They took great care of the children and all the kids seem to have a ball. Our daughter unfortunately got sick in the middle of the night and the concierge were very helpful in arranging a doctor. They left her a nice note and complimentary water. I guess two small improvements I would recommend is the food which was only average particularly Zing and could have a few more variations for the kids. We were a little disappointed with the cultural show it seemed a little tired. Our daughter enjoyed the nightly dance and fire show outside the Meke bar. Overall we had a wonderful experience and loved the Fijian people. We would either come back to this hotel or consider other Westins. November 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved our stay at the Westin From the moment we arrived until the time we left we were impressed with the Westin Denarau. We arrived to the sound of the "welcome drum" and were greeted warmly with a friendly "Bula". Having arrived on an early flight we were expecting to have to wait a while for our rooms to be ready but to our surprise the staff were working hard to ensure a room was available as soon as possible. In fact by the time we had breakfast and lazed around the pool one of the rooms was ready by 10.30am and the other shortly after. The staff were always great - friendly, efficient and responsive to our needs. My daughter did have some issues accessing the internet in her room but was able to have access in the lobby. We enjoyed dining a couple of times at Moo Moo which was very nice and staff very friendly. The service around the pool was also very good. We enjoyed drinks at the Meke bar a few times and were particularly impressed by the entertainers on the Thursday evening. (The female had a great voice and they played a variety of music). The added touches such as the fire throwers and dancers also enhanced the experience and atmosphere. We attended the cultural show on Wednesday night and were very impressed with how well organised it was. Food was lovely and the show very entertaining. We found the location on Denarua Island perfect as it was close to Port Denarau where we left for 2 island cruises and provided easy access to Nadi. All in all a great place to stay. I have already recommended it to family and friends and would definitely return. December 17, 2012
