Rated 2 out of 5 by Mully Disappointed at Disney
I'm a SPG Gold Member and had a poor experience at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort this past weekend. We encountered many service slips such as long waits on the phone when calling for room service, hotel dining reservations. However, the worst comment we heard from a guest services agent was "This is not Disney" when we called down asking for a toiletry item to be brought up to the room! I'm sure this was in the call flow script.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Keeper33 Housekeeping - needs improvement
While we enjoyed our stay at the Swan resort, not once did we come back to our room to find our room had been served by housekeeping. We returned to our room around 4-5 pm each afternoon to find that the beds had not been made, room had not been cleaned - in general it was just as we had left it. I called the desk and they informed me that housekeeping had up until 6PM to clean the room - really???? 6 PM - you're kidding, right? I would have had a completely different opionion of this resort had this not occurred. Seems a shame, since it is a lovely resort but this is not acceptable and quite frankly, lowered our impression of the hotel in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 Highly recommend the Disney Swan
The resort was priced at less than half of other Disney resorts with similar offerings, but after the experience my family of 4 had I would have paid double. The mattress sets are of the highest quality of any of the 100 plus hotels and resorts I have stayed over the past 30 years. The resorts biggest advantage or difference from the other resorts on Disney properties was its managements ability to provide outstanding customer service if and when anything didn't go better than expected. Special thanks to Dani D-P and Bryan L in management for delivering an experience above what other Disney resort properties haven't supplied over the past 2 decades of traveling to Disney World. One of the several wow moments was a special anniversary gift delivered to our room on our anniversary which we were celebrating while at the resort. I had noted the event months earlier when booking the hotel and then management delivered in supplying the special delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Missourigirl Spa-like hotel with great service
Our hotel stay exceeded my expectations. It provides a spa-like setting and the service was unbeatable. Upon check-in, I was informed that we had received a complimentary upgrade from a basic room to a balcony room overlooking Epcot fireworks. I was thrilled! I also requested extra shampoo/conditioner and enough for our entire stay was delivered to our room very quickly. Very comfortable beds and a rain shower head in the bathroom. The location is premium for Walt Disney World resorts and the Boardwalk area. I will defnitely recommend the Swan to anyone traveling to the WDW area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CindyL Excellent Hotel w/courteous and professional staff
This is an excellent hotel with a very courteous and professional staff. We stayed in a room with a King bed and found it to be very comfortable, spacious and quiet. Although we did hear the fireworks at Epcot each night. The only downside to staying at this hotel is the cost of food at the hotel restaurants. There are several different options onsite, but they are all pretty pricy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Eurico Nothing like waking up and realizing there is no hot water.
I would never expect a hotel of this category, to have such a catastrophic failure with the hot water system, and not even notify the guests so they can possibly make other arrangements for taking a shower in the morning. Nothing beats the experience of waking up in the morning to discover that there is no hot water, and not even being offered some kind of a possible solution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ginger9999 No wireless and funky smells
I stayed here as part of a business conference, and was never able to get wireless connectivity in my room, in spite of the hotels claim that it was available. For a business client not being connected is inexcusable.
On top of that, my room had a funky smell that never subsided over 3 days.
Convenient to meetings, but otherwise would not stay again, nor recommend to others.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Clark Disappointing
If you are a Platinum member, do not expect the great treatmentt you get at other SPG hotels. Guest services on hold was over 5 mins. Had to make several calls just to have water the they forgot to put in my room. They delivered it outside the door sometime after 1 am. Safe was locked when we got there. Called to have it fixed. No one ever came. No late checkout extended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lefty The hotel is a comfortable prison
The prices of the restaurants are much too high. There is no easy way to get to less expensive restaurants by walking outside. The concierge had almost no information about the facilities for the National Communication Association, such as where the registration desk was located.
Given the price of the room and of the restaurants, it was definitely not worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Littlebones Maid service and resort Service Package
I was turned off about the maid's service:
I was used the room to be done before noon even in my previous stay was that way, now can be done at 4.30 or 5 pm
I don't understand why she never replaced my water bottles buy herself, I had to call every day for this to be accomplish
and the Resort Service package is a disguise of a higher rate, all the hotel I had been in includes internet, water etc in teh rate not as a separate package that I consider is a hidden higher rate
A can make a reccommendation for you to attract more people: you can set a kosher restaurant or make a deal with any local kosher restaurant for the delivery willll be cheaper, then you let the Jewish organizations of the USA let them know aout and your hotel will be fuller

Rated 4 out of 5 by SwanLoyalist Wonderful Hotel / Not So Wonderful Breakfast
The hotel is wonderful with great amenities, great location, and friendly staff. I have been staying at the Swan since the late 1990s. However, its Garden Grove Restaurant has sadly deteriorated in quality these past few years. The food quality, food preparation, and organization is not what it used to be. Between the food being undercooked, buffet tables not restocked, dirty plates and utensils, very long lines and waits for food, its leaves alot to be desired. However, it is the ONLY negative for the hotel. Hopefully, Hotel Management steps in quickly and gets things turned around at the Garden Grove restaurant. Like I said, my family and have stayed at the Swan since the late 1990s. We are loyal guests hoping for better times at the Swan hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chiguy2012 Changing with age
I have stayed at the Swan many times over the past decade. Honestly you can't beat the location. However, this trip was a huge disappointment. The food at the hotel was average at best, the service was lousy, and the room shows signs of wear and tear. There are many newer, nicer hotels in the area for the same price. Check your other options before staying here.

The hotel is in a great location to Epcot. It is an easy walk. Boat access is available also. It has plenty of food places nearby. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by sunny32 Poor management
We were put in a dirty room at a 1 a.m. check in and then had to wait 30 minutes for a new room. Meanwhile, the manager had never come out to speak to us. He gave us a phone call to our room at 2 30 a.m. to tell us that unfortunately he can't do anything for us because "they are already losing money by having us stay there". We had used our spg!

Rated 3 out of 5 by RM38 Little SPG Benefits
Do not stay here if you are looking for any SPG benefits. Being a Platinum member provided very little in terms of perks. No room upgrades, only received a resort fee credit (but never received a final folio to confirm this), a continental breakfast credit (not hot food) for just me and my wife, and my kids still had to pay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BJL65 Somewhat satisified
The Swan is a lovely resort. Please consider carefully the "green option" . I did not realize it meant absolutely no cleaning of the room during stay. When we first checked in, I was surprised the soap in the soap dish had been used and housekeeping went down from there. Other hotels "green policy" usually means they do not change towels or sheets - which I am ok with. However, what I found out here that not only do they not change these items, they do not carry out the trash (which with 4 people in a room for 5 days can pile up), they do not replenish the coffee, nor do they make the beds. They do replace the 2 bottle waters which I would hope so since they charge a mandatory resort fee of $14 a day for the water, phone privileges, and fitness center privileges. I did talk to the same person at the front desk twice regarding the Green option - to ask for coffee and to ask for the trash to be carried out. He did not act like this was out of the norm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Terri63 Don't waste your money
I was very disappointed in this hotel. I attended a conference at this hotel and my stay was subpar. I had requested very early in my reservation, a King Bed - which I did not get, my room overlooked the roof, the food was terrible, the bathroom was the smallest bathroom that I have ever stayed in. Overall - the hotel is rundown.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VonCueBall WIFI is still slow slow slow, time to remodel.
Stay here regularly more than 6 times per year. Same thing each time the WIFI is very very slow always. The rooms are in need of remodeling. We really like to hotel and location but ownership must put money back into better technology and new interiors as the hotel could be great instead of heading towards average.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JValentine Great Birthday Getaway
I took my husband here for his birthday because he had never been to Orlando before. He thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations and the grounds were kept immaculate. The beds were verrryy comfortable and we shared a nice view from our balcony. Even without kids we had a great time and enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cdr9 Old and tired rooms
Not up to the standards of typical Starwood properties. Rooms are old and tired. Rooms are totally inadequate as far as electrical outlets because the rooms are outdated and haven't been updated. No fan in the bathroom so you have to dry the mirror off if you want to shave after showering. Very underwhelming room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dsmfu This hotel was below my expectations
This is the second time I have stayed on Disney property. I am very dissapointed with the price and quality of the rooms. Our room was small and smelled of old musty building. The toilet was dirty as someone had not cleaned it before us checking in. I requested that housekeeping not clean the room while we were there I even hung the sign on door. They came in while we were gone. I was not advised that we had to pay for parking. I could hear right through the walls. Our neighbors next door were so loud and woke us up early. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 8.00 am the day we were checking out. I felt like I was being kicked out of my room. Was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. I could have gotten a nicer, bigger room off property for the price I paid for this hotel. I will never stay on disney property again.

Thought the hotel rooms were a little tired and would benefit from a refresh. Loved the resort location. Didn't like the food at the Dophin Fountain, but the food in the Italien in the Swan was delicious. Had breakfast at the greek kitchen on the boardwalk which was great

The rooms were great. The views, from the rooms, were great. The resort had so much to do. The resort being right next to the Disney Boardwalk was great. There was so much to do, there was almost a desire to just hang out at the resort, no need to go to any attractions.
