Rated 5 out of 5 by pabloheitmeyer A great birthday weekend for my girlfriend
This weekend was a golf and relaxation event for my girlfriends birthday. The facility is nice, the location perfect, and the service and attention to detail throughout the resort was top notch. We started with golf on saturday and Andrew at 'Relish' was super. 'Grace' downstairs at the 19th hole was awesome. 'Jessica' at the front desk was superb. Will definitely stay again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rtstamb Several Issues with the Staff
The staff lost a dress for an event we were having that we had took to the front desk to hold because we were going to have some things altered. They brought us 2 dresses and left in our room the night of the event that werent ours. So not only were ours lost but 1-2 others were lost as well. Then the morning we were checking out after our luggage had already been packed and ready to go the hotel brought the dress to us and it had looked like it had been through quite a bit. Very beautiful place but v ry poor service experience.

- spacious, relax, nice weather and facilities
- need improvement on housekeeping service and front desk staff such as greetings and smiles
- better to have hotel shuttle bus to nearby department stores or tourist spot
- better to have more varieties of food selection besides Americans

Rated 5 out of 5 by RussL great stay
Great weekend getaway, Golf Course was in good condition. Pools were great, wish the outside hot tub was ready for use, place is still going through renovation so its forthcoming (the resort fee included access to the Spa facility which had a hot tob, so it was not a total loss; Spa needs a little bit of an update though). Overall a great stay and one of my highlights of the trip to Arizona.

Rated 4 out of 5 by trish Almost top notch luxury, but not quite...
Hotel is very good. Service at the pool is hit or miss. Service at bar and restaurants is very good. Fitness center has good equipment, but it is put so close together, there is no space to use the bosu, free weights, stretch and do things that don't involve the weight machines and cardio equipment.
Pool food is very limited for vegetarians who don't like to consume enormous calories and would like something a little bit more than a salad (and I'm not usually calorie conscious, as I work out)
The activity center needs to stay open longer than 5pm. The closing time is a joke. It is the evening when kids want to use it the most. if there are concerns about parents using it as an alternative to babysitting, there are ways to get around this, as many other resorts do.

We had massive construction when we vacationed @ The Phoenician, but understand it has to be done sometime and it allowed us to sleep in and we were busy most days so it did not impact us too much. Sure is going to look nice when all remodeling is completed. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Love the variety of experiences you can have here . . . from casual to dressy, burgers to filet mignon. Especially loved the 82 degree pools . . . perfect for our November stay!

Rated 3 out of 5 by FrequentTraveler Nice experience with a few problems
The hotel is huge with everything you could want in amenitites. I unfortunately experienced a few housekeeping and logistics issue (there was a dirty sock left in my hotel room when I first entered the room, the lip-balm provided in the bathroom had been previously used, the shoeshine service temporarily lost / mixed up my shoes, etc.). The staff was very friendly and helpful, however these are the kinds of issues one wouldn't expect when staying at the Phoenician.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Len28 Fantastic Stay
The Phoenician definitely lived up to my expectations. The staff was super friendly from the doormen/bellman, front desk agents, as well as housekeepers and room service associates. The hotel is well deserving of its AAA 5-Diamond award that hangs in front of the front desk. This was my first time visiting Scottsdale for Spring Training. There were so many other lovely resorts that I reviewed online that I could have chosen. But I'm glad I picked the Phoenician. I will definitely return to this hotel.

Most of the stay was fine, except for they delivered an extra comforter without a duvet cover on it (gross), and they stick it to you when you check out. I had two valet parking charges for $29 each (didn't have a car) and an in-room movie for $27.31 plus tax on my bill. What kind of movie costs $27, and even if I had time to watch a movie, I wouldnt have charged it on my company card. Be warned that they just throw stuff on your bill in hopes that you don't notice. And a glass of bad wine is $14.

This is my go-to hotel for all things wonderful!!! The staff are friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautiful filled with indigenous plants. The food and drinks are to die for. I just can't say enough great things about this hotel. I've recommended this place to all my friends young and old. there's something for everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Harry Loved our stay and hope to come back!!
The ONLY complaint......on our last night, we had drinks at the lobby bar.....my wife ordered a citron vodka--up--with a splash of cranberry juice.....(no call name for vodka)....the price... $19 !!! When I asked the bar tender, he said there was an up charge because the only citron he had was Grey Goose vodka and an additional $5 for it being served "up"....Too expensive!! FYI---we ate at both of your restaurants (Il Terazzo and the steak house) and she ordered the same drink---neither was $19!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by K2HCL Great Facility for a Conference
I've gone to plenty of conferences at places touted as luxury facilities and so far, the Phoenician outshines them all.
1. The staff clearly cares about good service. Every staff member smiled and said hello during my stay and many addressed me as Mrs. All of my needs were met. They somehow figured out it was my birthday and left me cookies in my room.
2. The rooms (and bathrooms) are spacious and excellent for a long stay. I loved having a balcony.
3. The internet speed was just what I needed - none of the 1 up/1 down nonsense.
4. Conference Facilities
a. Cold, but not freezing - fantastic.
b. Excellent food at lunch/dinner - many healthful vegetable selections in addition to richer side dishes. Breakfast was a little light -will assume that was a choice made by our conference organizers.
c. Can eat lunch outside when the weather is nice because there is a nice patio area outside of the conference space.
d. Acoustics of meeting rooms were of good quality and often times we could hear others without a microphone.
e. A/V quality very nice.
f. Specialized theme party locations unbeatable. The space at Jokake Inn on the property was a fantastic place for an outdoor party - gorgeous.
g. Golf course was one of the nicest I've seen.
6. Very close to the mall and to many nice Scottsdale restaurants - a very short car ride. Also walking distance to Camelback Mountain trailhead - with crowds in the winter any hiker will see why that's a plus.
7. Items to note:
a. The bars closed earlier than I would have expected for a vacation destination. At Relish, the bar was closed at 8:30 or 9pm on Sunday and I think may have closed at midnight on Tuesday. The staff kindly let us finish watching our football game on Sunday after close which was VERY considerate.
b. The bars had okay beer selections, but not great. Relish had a solid Belgian selection but the local beers were always on the menu and not in stock.
c. Cocktails were too strong at all of the bars (not at the events, however). I truly appreciated the gusto, but mixed drinks require correct proportions to make them taste good.

I continue to return to the Phoenician to be steeped into a world of serenity, natural beauty and impeccable world class customer service. I am local to Phoenix, and I consistently return to this property for a local getaway. Whether you are looking to be active, lazy around by the pool, enjoy your family, be solo or be pampered... there is something for everyone at the Phoenician. And that something is always delivered with a smile and personal touch. awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Khutch Perfect spring break pool for my girlfriends
This place was excellent! The room had comfy beds. The 3 pools had great service & yummy food. The place was packed on Easter weekend but I still managed a nap poolside. The hotel is so close to the camelback hiking trailhead, my friends & I took the hike & it was a highlight to the trip (ask the concerierge for a backpack). The spa had great skilled & friendly staff but the actual spa wasn't sooo impressive. Loved the layout of the hotel, easy to get around, felt like a tropical resort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JKL2 AMAZING!
My husband booked a 3-night stay at the Phoenician for my birthday present. We had never been there before, and were amazed at the beautiful grounds and views, the delicious food at the restaurants, the comfortable and spacious rooms, and the welcoming and helpful staff. Everything was perfect, and the staff makes sure you feel special if you're celebrating a birthday (i.e. complimentary desserts at the restaurants and champagne + chocolate-covered strawberries sent to the room). Sweet!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by abby27 Wonderful experience
This hotel was extremely accomodating and the grounds were beautiful. Turn down service every night and luxurious ammenities. My only complaint is that the restrooms in lobby and throughout hotel used real towels for each guest to dry hands on-not very good for the environment. Seemed like the resort had not even considered anything environmentally friendly in any of their practices. For as dry as Arizona is, I would think conservation would be a concern. Otherwise a fantastic stay!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mo1983 Super Staff
The Staff was great. They were smiling and friendly whenever I passed by them. George Alexander was particularly awesome. I met him at the water slide and he was most helpful and friendly. He made my family feel welcomed and even shared a bit about his work at the Phoenician and how he came from Egypt and became a US citizen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoodysWifeTurns40 40th Birthday Experience
I had been to The Phoenician on a long weekend back in October, 2001 and had fond memories of my experience. So, on the occasion of my wife's 40th birthday I wanted to take her somewhere special. The Phoenician, even after a 12 year hiatus, did not disappoint. The "fit and finish" of the hotel, its rooms, the golf course, restaurants etc., were all as meticulous as I remembered. The night of my wife's birthday we ate a fantastic meal at J&G, with a view that would knock your socks off! My wife is still raving about the spa day she spent at The Center. Yes, the weather was a little cooler during our stay than we were anticipating, but the overall experience at this resort more than made up for it. I look forward to my next stay. HIGHLY Recommend: J&G Steakhouse, The Center for Well Being Recommend: most everything in the hotel

Rated 5 out of 5 by Migo17 Beautiful property but a couple warnings
This resort is wonderful and the guest service is five-star. Great walking paths everywhere and right on Camelback Mtn. The bed was a bit too soft. We were in the casitas, which are the pet-friendly rooms. Our room was large and amazing. The biggest issue was that we were put in an accessible room which had the strangest shower. It was awful. Would recommend everything about this place except the accessible room shower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bonnie55 Servvice was outstandiing!
The service exceeded our expectations. The front desk asked if our visit was to celebrate anything. I responded that I just completed providing a 12 week program for weight loss and needed a rest from creating the weekly sessions and individual coaching. We were totally surprised to find a cheese and fruit plate waiting for us that night! Plus the card written was so personalized - I still have it and posted it on my mirror!
The housekeeping staff was so pleasant, helpful and non-intrusive. Plus, they kept the room immaculate.
The staff at the ice cream parlor were helpful to meet my dietary needs too. II was surprised they didn't open till 7am - some of us like an early morning latte while sitting by the pool.
Speaking of the pool - the staff was attentive and the food was better than I expected for pool service dining.

Rated 4 out of 5 by marylandtraveller2 casita stay
Our casita smaller than reserved space; did not sleep 4, needed rollaway - no charge . King mattress not firm. Rooms in main bldg. larger as are their bathrooms. Food was very good. Pool area crowded which caused guests to throw belongings on chaises as early as 6:30am in order to save a seat - very annoying - though we had no choice but to follow suit. Chaises were supposed to be cleared of belongings if no one showed up at 9 am but that did not happen.
