This is a great place to stay! Perfect location on the island. You can walk right out onto the beach or walk the paths through well landscaped areas. Good golf courses are just a minute away.

From time of arrival until departure, staff could not have been friendlier ... directions to early check in to late check out to restaurant staff ... every person I encountered couldn't do enough... and all done with a smile! Of course, the facility itself was akin to staying in the lap of luxury. Really great experience ... will return!

The beds are INCREDIBLE.... best sleep ever. I have heard several people in my group commenting about that, most of them are frequent travellers.
My only comment is at check in, when I indicated I would not need help with bags, the bell person seemed less than enthusiastic.

I just spent more than an hour in line with a lot of angry guests to check-in to my room to start my vacation. I am a meeting planner for a living and have never had this experience anywhere in the world. You know how busy your hotel was going to be today and only 1 non-SPG line was open and no one from the Westin trying to apologize to guests in line. My room was luckily ready when I finally got to the desk, others not so lucky and were told theirs were not, almost an hour after official check-in. They were told that they would be called on their cell phones, none of which had service.
Btw, once I finally reached check-in, Lauren was very pleasant. My vacation hopefully can only improve from here I hope.

Although, it was January...This was a wonderful property. I was told they just completed a major renovation. This hotel was beautiful. We had an oceanfront room that we truly enjoyed. The outdoor area was really well done. I can't wait to return in the spring. This hotel is a hidden gem. I also want to thank Caitlin for wonderful breakfast and dinner recommendations. She was very welcoming. She was so pleasant each day that we saw her. I also want to thank Krysten for welcoming us to the property, giving us tips of when to visit again and wishing us well back to Florida. The hotel's Carolina Cafe was a great breakfast spot.

Location is outstanding right off the beach. The complete renovation of the property makes it very updated & comfortable. The workout room is well equipped & maintained.The pool area is nice & offers several options for personal needs, i.e. shaded pool, smaller pool for kids, and very large pool for adults.Service staff was warm, friendly & helpful. We prefer leaving the sliding door open for fresh air, but the lack of a screen only invited bugs to fly in. Complimentary shuttle was offered, but unfortunately the "mall" has been torn down & only the harbor & golf courses are on the route now. If you don't have a car, guests can bike to nearby grocery stores & restaurants.

This hotel is as every bit what aa westin is, heavenly bed, smells nice, but not dog friendly as website indicates. I should have called, but boy was i surprised when i checked in for a 2 night say and told id be paying $150 extra to allow my 12 lb dog to stay. In addition the also charged anither $20 resort fee per night, that the front desk failed to mention. When I called and asked what is this, I found out there was a free shuttle, newspaper, free calls, and internet service included in that nightly fee. Maybe westin can put the amount of dog fee on the web and train the snootty girls at front desk how to talk to guests on how to enjoy the stay a bit better! Funny the extra charges ( $190 ) were more than my 2 total nights stay. Bring lysol wipes for room handles they were all pretty dirty.

Had a beautiful room facing the beach but around 3AM I was awakened by what sounded like pipe banging type noises above my room. Called down to complain---- never was addressed--- called back again--- told me no one above me--- I told them to have someone come down to listen to what I hear... someone showed up at 5AM-- letting me know it was a problem with pipe from basement and they could not fix without shutting down entire hotel water supply. Obviously NOT a good experience for me and something that must be fixed internally at the hotel

I have been staying at this resort for over 20 years and enjoy each stay more than the previous one. This resort has greatly improved with the renovations. The resort is spotless and well maintained. The food and beverage outlets are excellent and are the quality of a local restaurant. The food and beverage manager Fred is extremely caring and interacts with guests to maintain high quality service. Chris the front office manager is extremely caring and helpful. He is a welcoming face every time I return. As a lifetime platinum member I would rate this hotel as my favorite Starwood resort. I can not wait to return for my next visit. The owners of this resort should be happy to have such an excellent management team at this resort.

I stay at this resort several times a year and have always enjoyed returning. The resort was decorated for Christmas. The decorations were tastefully done. They did an excellent job! Breakfast at the Carolinia Cafe is always enjoyable. I would recommend dinning at the resort to locals as well as guests of the resort. Every employee makes a guest really feel welcome. Chris In the front office always makes sure each and every guest has an enjoyable stay. He really cares about the details that make this an outstanding resort!

Within the first 10 minutes the tone was set never received luggage to room, I removed from front lobby where it was unattended and no one observed (7:10 pm) almost 50 mins after check in.
Food only average.
Pool noise level to high.
Impossible to enjoy any form of relaxation out of doors.
Food and bar servers were excellent.
Front desk staff very pleasant.
While my association is returning next year, I will most assuredly stay at one of the other nearby hotels - I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS WESTIN AGAIN.

My wife and I stayed at the Westin on Hilton Head Island. The room was great with a great view of the beach. The staff were terrific. The Carolina Café staff, Bonnie and Linda, were warm and welcoming and did anything they could to make our stay wonderful. We recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and I came for a one night stay just before Christmas. The short time we spent in Hilton Head was exceptional thanks to your staff. From a welcoming check-in with Krystn, being able to watch football with a bartender like Charlie who was fun and provided great service, having Matt at front desk call a car for us for our anniversary dinner off property and Randy serving us a great breakfast before leaving on our last day we left The Westin Hilton Head sad to leave such great hospitality. Our experience is what a hotel stay should be so kudos and thank you!

We stayed at the Westin at Hilton Head Island for the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival. They were the host hotel. They did a wonderful job accommodating guest during the festival. I would stay there again next year!

Husband and i stayed at the Hilton island Westin for a short romantic getaway just before New Years. The stay way was Great! The heavenly bed and shower were the best I've experienced (and i am a hotel snob). Had breakfast both days in the Carolina Restaurant, which was awesome (kudos for Linda for going above and beyond). It was truly a restful and quiet stay just wish we could have stayed longer, would definitely stay again. While my view was good, on my next stay i would love to experience the TRUE full oceanFRONT view.

We were staying as part of a wedding, which took place on the beach. The location was amazing, despite having a few beach-goers sunbathing behind the altar. The pool was lovely and having fun staff like Ian ferrying drinks and food to us was delightful. Olivia at the front desk was welcoming and so very helpful. All was overseen by Gary, who helped us with wedding details, large group arrangements and personal assistance that was so very appreciated.

We stayed at the Westin Hilton Head for a week over New Year's and obviously, it was quiet due to it being the off season. But, it was too quiet in that there was no reason to stay at the resort unless you went to the spa or strolled along the beach. Skeleton staff and one restaurant, which was fine for us because it made us explore the low country every day. I do wish for more attention by staff e.g., checking in, because we had to request some items a couple of times.

My husband and I enjoy staying at is hotel. It's a short drive from Atlanta and has a very relaxing beach atmosphere. Hubby can play golf while I relax at the spa or by the pool. The renovation is spectacular and they have a lot of dining options. Oh, and did I mention the moonlight strolls by the beach are a great way to wind down your day. All the staff we encountered were very hospitable. We hope to return next year!

My husband I stayed the week of Jan 5-8. It might of been alittle chilly but service was great!!! I'm glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews on here because I found everyone to be pleasant and kind throughout our stay. Food was very good. Our room was comfy and the facilities WOW wish we could of enjoyed them more but like I said chilly out.

We have stayed at the Westin Hilton Head for over 25 years. The new hotel is a great improvement, but whats even better is the staff. A great example is John Green, Director of Housekeeping. We were walking down the hall and John asked how our stay was.He was genuinely interested in our enjoyment, and proud of his hotel. John also offered us a very special treat, which we were most grateful for.We are Platinum SPG and Starwood is always our first choice in hotels. The Westin Hilton Head is an excellent example of why we are loyal. The staff is 5 star, and the hotel also gives back to the local community, especially at this time of the year.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, and try the spa, its great too!!

The room had not been vacuumed. There were cracker crumbs under on the floor as well as a white lifesaver on the floor at the frame of the bed. To be staying at a hotel of this type, the room should have been cleaner since it had just been refurnished. Also, the hallways were not vacuumed. Again, food, crumbs and other items were throughout the common areas of our floor (3rd).

The wait staff was so bad time to be served to the actual food or drink being sent....and waiting for bill i cant stress enough how dissatisfied i was with the service.
Food desk staff was nice.
Constant extra charges for using the grounds is extreme.

Had the pleasure of staying here for work in January. It was chilly but the views of the beach and the sunsets were still gorgeous. Resort was basically empty but the staff was still 100% on point. Immediately available and responsive to any question or concern. They upgraded me to an ocean view room without me asking for any special treatment. Every staff member that I came in to any contact with was above and beyond professional; courteous; cheerful; etc. Room was gorgeous; hotel was impeccably clean. Spa was relaxing. My only comment is that the shower drain in my bathroom wasn't draining well. I asked for maintenance to come and fix and the first the repair was not completed correctly. I requested again the 2nd day and the issue was completely resolved. The food at the restaurant was mediocre and extremely expensive. Considering the many, many choices for amazing dining on Hilton Head Island I would recommend that you do most of your dining elsewhere

Still a decent place to stay - great pool, comfortable rooms, awesome beach. Unfortunately, the quality of service has diminished over the years. I do miss the days when the staff treated all guests as if they were VIPs. Now, as far as the staff appears to be concerned - you're just anybody, staying at any hotel.

We always love staying at Westins as their beds are great, this one met all of our expectations, close to the ocean and large pool area. This was a relaxing stay. Their garden view does have something to be desired, all greenery no flowers, it was the middle of July though.

My boyfriend and I arrived at the Westin hilton head to spend New Years here and from check in to check out everything was exceptional. The hotel staff are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. Our room was wonderful, it was very clean and relaxing. The hotel itself is great as well. We can't wait to come back during the warmer months. Great job Starwoods with this hotel. I'm a SPg member a and I'm very impressed.

I just returned from another outstanding stay at the Westin. The renovations are complete and this resort is a 5 Diamond property. This resort is in excellent condition and would be an excellent choice for anyone. I attended a conference at another hotel and stayed at the Westin. The Westin is a superior resort. The food and beverage offered at this resort are outstanding. If I lived locally I would dine at the resort regularly. The staff make you feel like you are at home. Chris in the front office really cares about every guest and he delivers a level of service expected from a 5 Diamond resort. I am already looking forward to my next stay .

The place is beautiful and the staff was very friendly but simply things like charging for wifi seem a bit odd. could get the same clean and friendly service at other places for half the price with more amenities.
