Rated 5 out of 5 by This will be your best experience for a Resort My wife was truly tickled to death when she experienced the view from our ocean front room. The view of the garden, pool's and children playing was awesome. Just to mention a few things, the breakfast was outstanding and the staff were execellent. Never have I had so many healthy choices to choose from. The in-house reservation (Adriana) was very much a part in helping us get this most memorable vacation together. I want to thank her for that. My wife was very happy and did not want it to end but I promised her we wil Be Back. Thanks for a wonderful vacation / Anniversary. August 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfection This was the perfect family vacation. The weather was great and the facilities were beautiful. We checked in on Monday 7/26 and checked out the following Monday. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Beach Location Just spent 5 nights at this property and had a great time with my family. Perfect beach location and the available golf and tennis were excellent. My kids had a great beach experience and we're all looking forward to returning. The hotel staff was excellent and the on-property food was perfectly acceptable, though we only had breakfast and lunch there most nights. This is a perfect family resort in a great location. Rated 5 out of 5 by This resort is absolutely AMAZING My daughter's and I stayed at this property this month for 3 nights, and I can honestly say that I have never encountered staff that were not only professional but truly enjoyed their working environment; from the bellman to the front desk Supervisor, Jason Bees and everyone in between, every staff member we encountered treated us like royalty. Jason Bees bent over backwards to ensure we had the best room available and wrote a very sweet personal note letting me know he appreciated us being there. There was a Country Music show on TV and the teenagers were watching their show in the room, I went to the bar and asked if it was possible to put it on the TV there, and the bartender (I wish I could remember her name) said; OF COURSE! I cannot say enough nice things about this property - I will definitely be back...MANY TIMES! August 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stay for a family reunion Recently stayed at the hotel for a family reunion. The public areas and rooms were updated and comfortable althought the rooms should have more than 2 drawers. I didn't like living out of a suitcase. The staff was freindly and very responsive to any requests, especially in the restaurants by the pool. My biggest complaint is that having reserved a deluxe room that was advertised as having ocean/pool views, 2 or the 3 rooms we had had absolutely no view whatsoever other than overgrown treetops. The rooms could not be changed and no accomodation was offered. I clearly felt I was paying for something that was not delivered. Because of this it is unlikely that I would stay here again. Rated 3 out of 5 by Overall good but not great experience Rooms are excellent, though small with comfortable beds and pillows. Bath size is adequate but well designed and the shower heads are the best ever. At peak times, the hotel just doesn't staff adequately. The line to the desk was usually 3-5 deep often with only 1 or 2 clerks. The wait for a bellman during checkout was about 45 minutes and required continual redialing to get an answer to calls. It is not the quality of the staff, since everyone was well trained attentive, polite, and worked hard to service; however, that isn't sufficient when demand is higher than staffing. On Saturday, our room was not cleaned until after 5 PM. TV's are analog and not HD. What's up with that Westin? You should receive more from a resort hotel than lines at the desk or waiting for your room to be cleaned. August 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This hotel needs work I stayed for 5 nights at this location and was I surprised. I've stayed at the Westin in Savannah and was very happy however Hilton Head was not what I expected. First the elevator is too far from the room. You need a central elevator in the middle of the hotel. Poorly constructed.Second, there was an open ceiling right outside of my room with water dripping making the carpet wet and smelling like mold. Third, the cable channels need upgrading. There should be a broader variety of channels. The Westin in Hilton Head should get some tips from the one in Savannah. In addition, you could not obtain a microwave in your room, therefore if you want anything heated , you had to go to the lobby which was a goo 3 minute walk fro the room.Overall, I was not pleased with the accomodations. The best part of the entire stay was my housekeeper Pam. She was a kind, helpful and considerate. She made sure we had everything we needed.What a wonderful woman. August 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel leaves alot to be desired My bullets points should gie you an idea as to why we DID not enjoy our stay: - I did not get an Ocean Front or Ocean View SUITE as I requested and paid for during the reservation process. The room I was given was a RESORT view - this view was of the WOODS with a house 75 yards away and the maintenance vehicles coming and going making noises. I was offered to be moved 3 days after my arrival to a double bed standard room with a "view" - we declined. - The room given was across from the ice maker and cleaning crews closet - which was noisy day and night. The AC did not go off and made noise. This was never addressed. - The pool and spa was Filthy. The pool had gobs of hair floating around it as well as paper, bugs and leaves. The SPA was DISGUSTING - the tiles were scummy and slimy. The water had dirty scummy foam, leaves, bugs and hair floating around it at 10:00am in the morning as well as 4PM in the afternoon. - The male bar tender at the pool bar did not seem to be happy camper. He did not speak well of the drink of the day, which we wanted to get but were talked out of it. This same bartender did NOT advise us of the gratuity already being included in the price of food and beverages. We found this out after a second trip to purchase a hot dog for our son and drinks for 2 adults and 1 child. The way we found out was through the female bartender that waited on us. She advised us of this as were paying and was aware of what the male bartender had done and did not think it was right he did that. - The positive side of things was the young lady that check us in. Although she was unable to get us in the room we reserved she was sincerely apologetic and was trying her best to make us feel better about the situation. She provided us breakfast vouchers.
