The wi-fi is only strong in the lobby, but spotty even there. The housekeeping is lacking and turn-down service is a joke. The drinks are bad and overpriced. The Concierge does not know anything outside of Red Sail Sports - don't expect any insightful vacation advice. "Service Express" is anything but. Thank goodness the beach is beautiful, or our week would have been a complete bust.

Although the front desk staff was friendly and courteous, they seemed unable to handle the challenges of room assignment, check-in and check-out. We arrived at 12:30pm and were told that housekeeping was preparing our room and that we should check back at 2pm. After checking every half-hour, by 5:30 we were angry about losing an entire day of our vacation and demanded to see a supervisor. It turned out that we never had a room assignment, and no one who had checked during the interim noticed or took action. Checkout was a similar disaster. When we finally arrived at our room, there were blood and other stains on the duvet. There were not enough outlets to plug in all of the lamps. The TV remote had a dead battery. The previous guest had apparently left the balcony doors open during a rain storm, and the carpet was wet and the room musty. In general, except for the concierges (who were not friendly or especially helpful), the service and restaurant staff were wonderful and capable. The beach and ocean were amazing and the outdoor sports were fabulous. However, there was no enforcement of age-restricted areas, such as the hot tub, which was jammed with children at all times, despite the fact that no one under 18 was allowed to use it. This is definitely a family resort, so avoid it if you don't want screaming children kicking sand and throwing balls in your space.

The minute we stepped into the lobby, beautiful, warm and friendly smiles greeted us! That pretty much set the tone to an incredible vacation. The staff was amazing and incredibly attentive. The facilities --in tiptop shape... Housekeeping --prompt and thorough. Beach was well kept and so beautiful! But last, but by no means least... The Heavenly Bed....it is truly heavenly!! Need I say I'm a happy guest?

Overall our stay at the Westin Grand Cayman was enjoyable. I have only three complaints.
1. Being a SPG member didn't seem to come with any perks at all - or at least none that I was made aware of.
2. The loungers on the beach need to increase in quality - more like the ones by the pool.
3. The food at the beach restaurant was underwhelming at best - with the exception of the fish tacos.
All that said, Grand Cayman in general was fantastic. Treat yourself to some great restaurants, enjoy the spectacular beach and ocean along the seven mile beach strip and don't miss out on going to stingray bay...it's well worth it.

I had a beautiful view from my Oceanfront room. The staff did an OUTSTANDING job of recognizing my birthday, with rum cakes, a layer cake, and a chilled bottle of wine. The staff at the beach would dig an umbrella anywhere for us! The service was EXCELLENT! You guys are the best - can't wait to get back again. I can't say enough good things about this place.

This resort has been a long favorite of ours every time we visit our family in the Caymans. The staff is always "Spot on" with professional courtesy and accommodating to our every request or need! The resort is always clean and squared away.
This is the only resort we chose to stay at because of its beaches, facilities, accommodations, and personnel!

We had an awesome time. The Luxury Cabana's were great. The Beach Staff (Maya) was outstanding and very attentive. The Red Sail Sports team is super accomodating. Dan and Tammy from Red Sail Sports were perfect people to lead us on our privae boat tour of the island. Thanks to all the staff who did such a marvelous job.

Just got back from vacation at the Westin Grand Cayman and can't say enough. The service was the best at the bars on the beach at the restaurants (plus the food was terrific).
Will be back each year.

I think hotel needs an update
Pool and jacuzzis not maintained green mold
Bathrooms tub not draining called multiple times sewer (septic gas comes out of toilet)
Housekeeping awesome staff friendly
Resort fee very high especially when we could not use pool and jacuzzis

My wife and I have stayed at this resort for the past several years and this has been the best stay yet. The staff was friently, helpful, and met our needs. We have already booked a stay this November and plan on annual trips to this resort based on our latest experience.

I am positive the executives of this co would be extremely disappointed in the conditions of our room. I have photos of the dirty stained bathtub, the hole in the cracked sink and the HAIRBALL that was in a corner and remained there for our stay until I finally removed it.

No proper welcome. No explanation of the amenities on the resort. No effort for our 10yr anniversary. No effort to consolidate the 1st two reward nights with the paid 2nd Half of the stay and no offers to a late check-out and early check-in as a compromise. I had to coordinate the switch of rooms myself with the lovely cleaning ladies which were the nicest members of this Westin's staff. On Easter Sunday morning, my kid's were very disappointed that they had missed the 9am Easter egg hunt which we were told specifically the night before when we called that it would start at 9:30am. Furthermore, we had reserved the Water Trike for that same morning from Red Sail Sports for 11am, showed up and no reservation to be found. Also, on multiple occasions, there were no beach towels available and had to wait for the next clean batch. Although you can find shade, good luck getting an umbrella, convenient shortage so that you feel compelled to rent their fancy ones. For a resort of this caliber, the management was very disappointing for a Westin (which we usually absolutely love) and did not make any efforts to make us feel like preferred guests. It is a shame because the property is beautiful, with a gorgeous beach and great location.

The Westin is a good hotel- great for an easy, comfortable Carribean vacation.
However, it has nowhere near the service of the Ritz next door. The staff is fine, they just dont go out of their way to be helpful. The towel hut guys will fight with you about how many towels you want, service express forgets the shampoo you called about an hour ago, etc. These are little items but its just not the amazing service experience of the hotel next door.

4th time I have stayed here. I had an Orbitz prepaid reservation and paid for ocean front rooms the same as last time. Last time the room was in fact ocean front. This time I first was told at check-in that our room was not ready yet. After some poor English by the desk person, she said she found a room. When I pointed out that the room was not ocean front, she said it was the best she could do. After the trip I contacted Orbitz and they could not resolve the dispute with the hotel. This is the third time at check-in they have tried to switch the type of room I had reserved. If you go in winter (early evenings) just reserve a cheaper (the rooms are all configured the same) pool side room and save the money. I will not stay here again as a result of the bait and switch tactics employed at this hotel.

The facilities are generally good with a spectacular beach and nice pool. The lobby and lobby bar need a big time upgrade. The food staff, bar staff and front desk staff were excellent. There was a major problem that interfered with the stay-- the wifi was essentially inoperable which was a major inconvenience for those with business needs. I would not have stayed at the hotel if I had known that it would be virtually impossible to communicate regularly with my office. Accordingly, I found the $35/day resort fee particularly annoying. Also they messed up my daughter's incidentals bill at checkout and the checkout person could not print out the bill to get the mistakes straightened out. I am a starwood platinum who always prefers starwood facilities so I hope you will take these concerns to heart.

the room that we stayed in for a week was due for a renovation.
The bathtub base was black and grimy, there was grout missing form the tiles in the shower area and on a few days the room cleaning had some room for improvement.

We have been back to the Westin 6 times now. The resort is very relaxing and gives a very positive environment. The staff is very friendly and helpfull (especially the servers and bartenders on the beach). They appreciate when us guests show some interest in them and their backgrounds. For me, it is interesting to meet people from other countries. The proximity of the rooms to the pool & beach is outstanding. This is a few minutes walk. The recent decor renovations are nice and apprpriate for this setting. It would be nice to have more companies for popular excursions represented other than Red Sail Sports.

We stayed here on a special residents' rate for a "staycation". I don't know if that meant we could not expect the same expeirence as full paying guests (which would seem rather short sighted of the hotel).
The rooms were dated - the bathrooms in particular. It was very good for the rate we paid; I wouldn't consider recommending it to anyone paying full rate.
Amazing pool and stretch of beach. Comfy bed.
the worst thing was the staff. Some unfriendly, some unhelpful, some bossy, some rude, some just disorganised. Almost nothing was straightforward and it all a bit like hard work.

We really enjoyed our visit. We will recommend it to friends. We had three negative comments for your consideration. The shower mixing valve would not adjust, turn it to cold and hot it was always hot, the diverted part worked fine. We were in room 211.
We felt the tub was too small and the doors to the bathroom doors did not allow privacy.
Last -the day concierge answered the questions asked, but while not rude, we felt she acted as if we were a bother without offering more information or if her answer helped us.

My husband and I returned to the Westin for the third time. We love the hotel and its location on 7 Mile Beach. We also love diving with Red Sail Sports which is located on site. My only complaint is that one afternoon, we returned to our room around 4:30 and it had yet to be cleaned. When I called the front desk, they said that there had been a large number of arrivals offered to send someone immediately, however, we needed to use the room. We agreed that they would send someone at 5:45 however, at 6:30 the room had not yet been cleaned. I then went to the front desk to register another complaint. I was surprised by this because, we return to the Westin because of the customer service.

We stayed 5 nights at the Westin and enjoyed our visit. Staff was attentive, everything was clean, the bed was very comfy, the beach was beautiful, and the location was perfect.

I stayed at the hotel in November 2013 with my wife and toddler son. The positives: The beach and pool are beautifully maintained, service at the pool and beach is good, as is the food. The negatives: Our hotel rooms (we had two connecting rooms), were awful. The carpeting was damp in some places, the room smelled musty, the wi-fi signal was available in our rooms about 1/3 of the time, the phone kept breaking, and there is virtually no in-room enterainment, such as movies on demand (a feature that would have been nice for us because our son goes to sleep at 8pm, which tethered us to our room from that time on). We had "Island view" rooms, which truly have no view at all, except of the parking lot and busy road. Despite having two rooms, neither had a balcony. We would not stay at this hotel again, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone who expects to spend any time at all in their hotel room.
