Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel Experience Stayed for 1 night in 2014 and thought it was so good we tried the Suite Experience for 2 nights last weekend. Everything you could want in a luxury break. Only slight disappointment was that the dinner menu on both nights was exactly the same. Appreciate that we did have choices but thought there may have been some small changes. other than that cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. January 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location - fantastic views Resort and golf courses were great with very good and friendly service. Unfortunately, upon arrival our room was missing a light bulb, had a minibar fridge that did not work, a window that did not close, and the heater did not work (which was rather difficult when it was near freezing outside). It took 2 days to get a space heater, after which the room was tolerable. Housekeeping each day was very minimal, however, no straightening and did not provide new toiletries. Overall, fantastic location however - great food and wonderful views of the water and golf courses. November 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Staff and Welcoming Hotel From the minute we arrived the welcome was warm, friendly yet professional. The hotel is quite stunning in all areas and feels like you are being enveloped in a warm cosy duvet. Nothing was too much to ask of the staff who were all really excellent. We took our West Highland Terrier with us to the hotel and she was treated so well with a bed, water bowl on hand. It is, unfortunately, one of only a few hotels where you can enjoy your holiday with your pet. The stunning surroundings are appreciated by humans and canines alike! For what it is worth though the background music felt like you were in a spa and became annoying after a while, other guests found this the case too. January 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fabulous stay but disappointed by lack of communication. I surprised by daughter on her 30th birthday by starying over on the night of the 9th. I phoned twice to the hotel prior to arriving to ask if someone would mention her birthday. Both times I was assured that she would receive a surprise at breakfast on the 10th and that a note had been taken. When we arrived and booked in, I asked the receptionist if he had knowledge of the special birthday celebration and he said he did not but would ensure that the occasion would not missed. However, no mention was made by any member of staff and when we were checking out, I complained of this. The woman on the desk apologised and said there had been a breakdown of communication! As we were were leaving I expected that at the very least she would say something to my daughter, wish her a happy birthday, but she didn't even do that. We enjoyed our stay but given that it was booked to celebrate my daughter's special birthday and that I spoke to 3 memebers of staff at different times, I am extremely disappointed. December 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by STUNNING LOCATION I stayed in a classic double ocean view room and felt the room to be in need of refurbishment and modernisation. Bathroom was very old fashioned with small bath and shower. No toiletries were there on arrival and had to be asked for. Room was not up to standard of any other 5 star hotel we have stayed in. Food and service however was excellent, especially selection of food at beakfast. Spa was very tired looking and very much in need of refurbishment to bring it up to date with other 5 star hotels. Check in and check out were slow and we had to find our own way to the room which was not easy! November 9, 2011

THE HOTEL HAS AN AMBIENCE OF QUALITY AND GRACIOUSNESS. IN ALL A WONDEFRFUL FAMILY HOLIDAY October 8, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoyable Birthday Present 2nd time at Turnberry, although the last was 5 years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The quality of the service was exceptional. Only disappointment was at dinner. The quality was good but the main course portions were both very 'skimpy'. Even worse was the cheese plate where the poor waitress spent an inordinate amount of time trying to ensure that that the cheese chosen were cut as small as possible. Significantly smaller that what I tried the next night at a local 'deli' before I made my purchases. Not what I would expect at Turnberry but probably down to the recession. Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. November 15, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Trumped Out I used to love this hotel and have stayed numerous times before it was renamed. The suites were lovely, the hotel sits on a hillside above the see like a gorgeous luxury liner, and service was great. Unfortunately, the decision to put the Trump name on the property really turns me off. I avoid Trump properties in the US simply because I find them brash and unappealing. Following so much controversy in Scotland and so many offensive remarks by the man himself, I really cannot abide the idea of staying at a property named after the odious Trump. A name is obviously important and must have meaning, otherwise hotel groups would not go to so much effort and expense to brand their properties... so this decision to apply the Trump mark to this property is significant and is definitely is a factor in my decision not to stay here again.
