Yes it has golf in its name and, yes, it is on a golf course. The golf course is very good, so I have been told. I don't play golf but this hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility. Inland from the hussle and bussle of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. The hotel is built up the side of a hill and has views of the sea. golf course, the mountains and from our room even a view of Mount Teide on Tenerife.
The food in the hotel was very good and, if you take the half board package, very reasonably priced. The Spa is very good with a nice infinity pool. The Sunset Terrace on the top of the hill also has a great infinity pool with views out to sea and children are resticted in this area.
I had not been to this hotel for a number of years and it has improved dramatically. I will not stay away for so long again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sepp2014 very friendly staff
We had a perfect week in february, with a lot of sunshine and no wind. The fact of having two golf courses is a very positive one. The fact of a lot of very slow and often very bad playing flights (if a handicap of 20 / 24 is requested!!!) is a rather negative one. May be it would help having a marshall on the course, speeding up the business.
But the really very friendly staff in the hotel and on the golf course makes it more than up for spending a holiday there:)

I travel to the Sheraton Salobre Golf relatively often since 2008. I’ve been there nine or ten times. My last visit in this hotel was from the 4 th to 9 th of April 2014. The services in the hotel are on a very good level and hotel staff is pleasant especially receptionists whose are working in this hotel for a longer time.

I have just returned from staying five nights. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough from the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. We were given a wonderful room. The food is fresh and well presented in all of the restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would love to return. It is pure luxury!

Excellent lay-out, with an architecture of cement, wood, rock, gardens and integrated water perfectly in the landscape. Serviceses of quality and professional personnel highly. Very good Restorants for quality, quantity and choice. Rooms Deluxe endowed with every comfort and furnished with style. The Sunset Bar to the eleventh floor: an angle of peace and romanticism that it is lent for particular evenings.

It was a pleasure to return for the 8th year and be greeted by familiar faces at Reception, and Dining, and other helpful staff in every area of the hotel.
The changes to the Menus in Perenquen and Chameleon were excellent and of superb quality and presentation.
Relaxing, beautiful, countryside location with outstanding views, made easier with a car for exploring the area.

hotel is rather old ; maintencance in the rooms/showers is incredibely poor
housekeeping doesn't make an eveningservice , as one would expect in a 5*hotel
food joice in the restaurants is rather mediocre, the winelist is way below the average of the restaurants in meloneras!!
staff is very friendly but usually not trained enough to give competent answers.

This hotel is fantastic and perfect for a getaway with your partner or family. Despite the size of the hotel is never actually feels busy . The staff during my visit were fantastic and friendly. The design of the hotel and it's setting are fantastic. During the evening you are at the hotel unless you have a rental car or catch taxi's however there is enough offered during the evening to keep you occupied however if you stay longer than a weekend you may wish to venture further afield during the evening. The only downside to my visit was the practice of guests "reserving" sunloungers with their towels as early as 8am!! despite the signs, hotel staff did not really enforce the "no reservation policy" which meant thta you were forced to look for a lounger or call management to remove towels that had been present for 2 hours! For a luxury hotel/resort not what you would expect - maybe in the costas..

We had a great vacation! My son, friend, and I spent a week exploring Gran Canaria by sea, land, and air with the help of the hotel staff. We began each day watching a gorgeous sunrise over the top of a nearby mountain from the balcony of our room. We then set off to thorough enjoy an afternoon submarine voyage, an island tour by helicopter, hiking along an historic trail, and riding horses in the countryside. All adventure arrangements were handled efficiently and professionally by the front desk staff. We spent a few afternoons being pampered at the spa and highly recommend their treatments! Sitting by the pool was also a relaxing end to our fun-filled days. We enjoyed delicious meals at all of the resort restaurants provided by friendly wait staff. In fact, all of the staff at Sheraton Salobre were friendly and helpful. They seemed sincerely interested in our well-being. The week went by too fast. It was a much-needed and much-appreciated week of decompression and stress relief in a beautiful setting, one we all agree we will visit again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Debsiebear Beautiful design, beautiful people
The hotel is designed over 11 floors and cleverly laid out to include many private areas, and 7 separate swimming pools. The hotel never feels crowded, and is very peaceful and relaxing. The staff cannot do enough to help, and are extremely pleasant. All in all a fabulous destination hotel, with no need to leave the grounds.

Fantastic hotel, very quiet and silent in spite of the number of rooms. Very spacious and beautiful terasse on the last floor on the top of the hill where you can isolate yourself right under the sky. Extermely nice and discreet staff. Ideal hotel for disconnection from daily life and work.

Overall a wonderful 7 days and although not golfers we still felt the amenities were very good for a relaxing holiday. Our only concern was that the room facilities are slightly dated and the TV was temperamental to say the least.
Outside however was wonderful and the Sunset pool a delight

Great hotel with two 18 hole courses (the north course is a beast under windy conditions). A vast resort, but due to smart, spacious and tasteful architecture, you do not feel its real size. Very friendly staff and caring management - they solved all our issues perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Grahamandjo Sept 2013, thank you
Having booked this holiday more from frustration and time restrictions We did not know if e had done the right thing. With busy lives and a hectic schedule leading into the holiday we were ready to relax. From the firs arrival ate reception the experience at Sheraton Salobre was fantastic. Specifically Bea who from that night and throughout was a constant source of help and guidance. Staff at the hotel were exceptional. Luiz at sunset, Alez, David and all of the staff in the breakfast and dinner areas were fantastic.
Overall brilliant! Location wise some people may feel it is as little away from the beaches and nightlife but for us it suited, we hired a car for a few days and did a coupe of excursions which really showed how much gran canaria has to offer. But an easy shuttle to the beach was gained when we wanted it and Maspalomas was lovely. The only critic was the quality of the towels, no spare toilet roll, no bed/stable ski e at the sunset pool but this is nit picking as overall a fantastic Lindsay was had, thank you all , Graham And Jo

Rated 5 out of 5 by Philip55 A unique property with good facilities
You climb out of the main tourist area of Meloneras and drive up into the hills leaving the main highway and taking a small, twisty road. Then suddenly you arrive at the gate of what looks like a Golf Course. You drive on, over some very annoying (!) speed bumps through the Golf Resort and past some fantastic looking villas and 5 minutes later you arrive at the Sheraton Hotel.
It is a very unique hotel, built into the hillside with some amazing architecture. It is full of different areas to sit and enjoy the various pools and sundecks, which is the most striking feature about this hotel .....stay for a week and sit somewhere different every day !
Rooms are great too with some unique features. The balconies with furniture are especially excellent.
You have to accept the rather remote location of this hotel .....there is nothing else around (unless you play golf, which we didn't) so you do need to go for the Half-Board Package unless you are prepared to rent a car or take taxis to get to and from Meloneras in the evenings. The buffet dinner is excellent.
The free shuttle service to the Sheraton Beach House in Meloneras was a life-saver for us as it does give guests the chance to get out to the main beach area. It was a pity though that this service did not operate in the evenings.
No SPG recognition at check-in, which surprised me. I had to state that I was a Gold Member before I was offered the Gold Benefits.
Very nice staff who provided excellent service throughout the Resort.
