Sheraton Kona has great staff, amazing attention to detail for food and beverage and service. Sheraton Kona has the best location on the bay with vantage points for great sunsets, water and cultural activities. Rooms are of excellent size, comfortable and upscale. The manta ray watch at night is something you cannot experience any where else,

My niece had here wedding here and it was elegant and easy from beginning to end. The hotel staff took care of everything and made it very easy on the whole family involved. Beautiful ceremony overlooking the ocean bay with music and flowers everywhere.

It was our 40th wedding anniversary And we had booked a room facing the mountain. The hotel upgraded us to an ocean view. We were also presented with a coupon for drinks in the restaurant. On our anniversary chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to our door. Everywhere we went we were congratulated on our milestone. We were truly made to feel very special. Thank you Sheraton

This hotel was one of the most beautiful Sheratons I've ever been to! Pretty scenery and beautiful nature along with activities for the kids and a fun waterside! I would totally recommend it and would definitely go back soon! Everybody was super friendly too and very helpful!! Love, Love, Love the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay, mahalo!!!! =)

The pool bar closed was before the pool closed so you couldn't get a drink.
Pool bar was out of Strawberries during our entire 6 day stay. Also out of other ingrediants to make smoothies.
Our Pina colada's each day was made differently. It wasn't consistant.
Servers were great though

This was a repeat visit, and overall we had another wonderful stay. Staff was extremely courteous. Hotel has two wonderful upscale dining options, but with two teenagers in tow, we focused on casual dining, and while these are available the hours need to be extended. The take out coffee and snack kiosk closes at 11 am (what were they thinking!!) and the poolside service stops at 5:30. Both of these areas also seem a tad understaffed, especially the coffee kiosk who only had one person every morning that I stopped by.

We've stayed here a couple of times. Convenient to Kona and a nice setting without being overly big and cumbersome to get around. Decent main restaurant. You pay a resort fee here even when using points, waived at the other major resort we stayed at. Room had minor issues (leaking AC), but we dealt with it.

For the most part, my family and I enjoyed staying at your hotel. The associates were very friendly and helpful. I did request connecting rooms due to the fact that my parents are in their 90's and they both need assistance. Your front desk associates stated that there were no connecting rooms and that we could have rooms next to each other. Upon entering the rooms, we found out, to our suprise, that they indeed were connecting rooms. The one concern I have is your shower control. In room 4648, the shower control was so complex for my 95 year old father and my 90 year old mother. It caused them much anguish and stress to figure out how to work the shower. The 2 different control knobs are very confusing and I would suggest installing something simple. Please take a look at that and I would like a response back. Other than that, we had a wonderful time.

No cell reception in first room assigned. Both our businesses transfer calls to cell when we are not on Maui. Very critical service for us. Phoned resort operator who was very curt, did not listen carefully to what we were asking and immediately transferred to Time Warner. When rep realized not an internet problem, told us to talk to Sheraton staff. Sheraton operator remembered us 'phoning and said it was a Time Warner issue. After some persistence on our part, she said she would send someone to the room. Denise from Maintenance appeared shortly, asked if she needed to reset router. We explained problem. She took out her phone and alas, no service in the room. No problem outside the room. She went to front desk, checked on alternate room and returned with key. Accompanied us to new room and made sure all okay. Denise was a model of excellent customer service (and a very nice person). We are both in the hospitality business and have been for many years. This was a quick getaway to a neighbor island. Not suggesting how to run the business, but if I were manager, I would do some additional customer service training with whomever answers when we 'phoned from room. Did not ruin our stay, but almost had us looking quickly for another resort with cell service.

Very good location with two beach parks very close, with the possibility to snorkel with manta rays in front of the hotel. The only down side is that the rooms are bit old.

Starting at check in (6pm), I noticed the stay would be not good. The front desk rep says that the room is not ready...finally we could check in and since it was already late we decided to order room service. There was no menu in the room, so I called guest service and they said the menu will be delivered. Nobody came, so I had to call again and the menu was finally delivered (1.5 hours after the first request).
Next day after we prepared to go to the Aloha Friday Run and left the room at 4pm, I called housekeeping before leaving the room to make sure they clean it, we came back after dinner (10pm) and the room was untouched. Nobody came to clean.
The third day, we left the hotel early and housekeeping did clean the room...actually they only changed the linens and put new towels. The rest was untouched. Tissue paper was finished and they didn't change it.
On our last day we decided to spend time at the pool, so I called around noon to request housekeeping to make up the room. Initially we planned to go directly to the mall, but had to change the baby. So we went to the room and surprise again it was 5:30pm and nobody came to clean the room. I called again and told them to send somebody to clean the room. Eventually they came and did it...same cleaning quality as the previous day.
In our last morning, before check out, I noticed that there was no newspaper delivered (the previous 3 days we had it delivered...maybe because I am Plat). I called guest services and they said...it is only delivered to gold and plats. Are you? Yes, so please could you send somebody to deliver it (it was 6:55am). You can come to the front desk and grab one, if we have copies left (that was the GS rep answer).
Finally, at check out the FD rep asked how was my stay...I summarized it and told her it was not good. She didn't care at all. Then I asked if I could contact the General Manager (Mr Mathew Grauso), she said that she doesn't know where he is and if I want to talk to somebody, I had to talk to the FD manager.
So that is what the Sheraton Kona at Keauhou can offer you. Considering I am a lifetime platinum, I can't imagine what kind of service general members are entitled to.

If you can look past the hideous, pristine view robbing architecture of 70's era chicken wire and cement, popcorn ceilings and Pier One furnishings, you will discover a hotel with an inverted sense of customer service and food to match. It communicated the atmosphere of a restaurant on the verge of bankruptcy: empty, hopeless and devoid of a reason to try. After 3 days into a 7 day stay, we checked out.

This hotel really meet and exceeded my expectations, The ocean view, with the garden and the mountains was fantasist, Breakfast became a little boring but OK, We went to Rays on the Bays but I was not impressed with the serve.nor the food/ The waiter never came back to check to see if we need ed water. I had a burger and it was more bread than meat. I guess one out of many is not to bad.I would have done better at MacDonald s. The MUSIC was GREAT!,

We brought 2 families with us (kids and grandkids) and booked 3 rooms. Puka checked us all in upgraded rooms and suites and took care of everything. I think her name was Puka, and she was a gem. Also, the concierge, Gary, was most helpful and knowledgeable about all the activities we asked about. I have stayed here before, but this was by far an upgraded experience. Kudos to the management. perfect stay!

The staff at the Sheraton Kona was just great, very friendly and helpful. Ronald the valet/bellperson was very accommodating and friendly.. The staff made me and my family feel at home. Great family environment my boys had a blast and felt just staying at the hotel was all they needed.

We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel as we took several day trips. But the amenities such as the spa, the pools, and the restaurants were quite adequate. It is in a great location to take trips to Hawaii Volcanoes NP, Hilo and shopping in Kailua-Kona. Transportation is available to local sites like beaches and shopping area. The concierge services are very helpful. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the room was pretty quiet. The staff, especially the valets, are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed it. The pool and grounds are lovely, we found the staff to be friendly and responsive, and on an upper floor toward the end of one of the buildings, it was also very quiet.
The room was nice and big and well-appointed. Bathroom cleanliness could have been a little better (soap remnants on the shelf in the shower, and a few too many stray hairs from either the previous occupant or whoever cleaned it).
On the negative side, the $31/day resort fee is a little outrageous for how little you get for it. Also, the hotel needs more self-parking spaces. It's annoying enough that the lot can be a hike to get to, but it was always close to full while we were there. Meanwhile, the equally large, if not larger, valet lot was never even half full. What does this tell you -- you need more self-parking, as few people seem willing to spring for it as an added expense on top of the already high resort fee.
Other than that, it's a quite fine hotel I would go back to. It's in a good location, away from the busy-ness of Kailua-Kona but minutes from it, and with convenient access to the main roads.

I wanted to express my sincerest graditude to the staff and the management.
Especially to the front desk clerk Sally C. My reservation was lost in the system (Not Sheraton's fault) but she made an extra effort to clear up the situation. She literally stayed on the phone for almost 30 minutes to talk to a travel agency to clear the error!
Mr. Grauso, Thank you for managing such a great staff.

$31 resort fee is a rip off, pool bar closes at 5pm main bar at 10pm No mater how people are in there is closes, Breakfast buffet at $27 per person. The food is bad along with service. ( We waited for 15min to get a coffee, you can't leave your plate or the birds attack it.
Our room had san flees so bad we bought spray,, and thanks we brought them home with us. 9 days we spent there and will never come back. As the VP for US Electric, I will not recommend this hotel to any of our employees or our customers.
