Rated 2 out of 5 by Screwedover Service is the Key
I arrived at the hotel approximately 9:30 and was told the restaurant was serving until 10:00. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:45 and they said they're "closing soon" and have stopped serving. Sounds like someone wanted to go home. Shocked? No. This is the second time this has happened. I wanted to eat and after traveling all day I don't want to eat in my room (nice room though), so I went out. Unfortunate for me it was raining cats and dogs. Hard to believe a W wants to lower its service, but they did. - Lifetime Platinum Member

Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen48 This hotel has great features and a first class staff
This is one of the nicest experiences I have had with a hotel in south Florida. The rooms were very comfortable, the views exceptional and the staff could not have made us feel more welcome. The pool area was well maintained and the view of the ocean from the pool area is breathtaking. The spa has some of the most amazing spa services I have ever seen. Would recommend to all my friends and I am planning a girls weekend away!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aklyon Best Ever - Love Ryan
All I can say was that I was so taken care of in a way that most can never achieve. Ryan assisted me at every turn and took care of all my needs. The rooms and service exceeded every expectation. Ryan even called and checked on me after my nap to ensure that everything was great. Hotel is amazing in every way, but staff such as Ryan take I WAY over the top.

I've stayed at a few w hotels in the USA, at every one of them I got an upgrade based on my gold status, for some reason that wasn't the case at the ft lauderdale w, also their pictures made the room seem allot more spacious then what it actually was... Which the actual room met the the description, other then that we had a pleasant stay, wondering why elevators don't have ac...

W Fort Lauderdale is the best spot along the beach. Cool vibe, great views, great pool, lots of sexy people everywhere. Easy to walk to all the shops and bars along A1A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RdBd Awesome Hotel & Staff
First time @ a W to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary & couldn't be more pleased with the friendly & accommodating staff. Sparkle welcomed us with open arms at our arrival & made sure our celebration was memorable. Brandy, Lewis & Jose @ the pool decks were very friendly & helpful. This hotel truly treats you like a SPG Gold member.
People need to realize you get what you give....approach others with a smile & warm greeting and you'll get it back!

Rated 2 out of 5 by AnaLl poor customer service
My family and I stayed at the W in Fort Lauderdale for part of the Thanksgiving weekend (rsv: Monica Del Mastro – check in: 11/30 – check out: 12/2). After experiencing multiple customer service issues, I’d like to leave my honest feedback about my recent stay at your hotel. Our reservation was made through Visa Luxury Concierge which offers a few extra benefits and VIP status guest (whatever this means). However, most of these benefits were not informed to me or either any of the other guests when checking in. That being said, we did not have access to free in-room internet, $25 dollars voucher, and others. The other benefits: - continental breakfast – I was never informed that there was a limit of $25 dollars per room. When asking how the breakfast works, I was simply told that all charges would be taken out of my bill. When checking out and after I’ve explained not to be aware of that, nothing was charged but either way disappointing miscommunication. - late check out – I was always told that we’d not be able to have access to the late check out at 3pm due to availability. However, on Monday – when we checked out – the hotel was definitely not full. Either way, I’ve tried a few times to get the late check out and the staff would always give me an extra half hour, but never the 3pm check out. So, after letting Visa Concierge know, our check out at 3 was finally authorized. Too stressful to take it to extreme for something that could be given to us since the beginning. - There were 4 guests in my room but there were never enough towels for the 4 of us - Wait time was over an hour for a few times after asking for extra towels and other simple requests, and I always had to follow up on the requests. - Room was always cold. - Lobby bar closed at 11:30pm on a Sunday. The hotel should have at least one of its 4 bars open until 1am (especially on Thanksgiving weekend). When I asked for a hotel employee at the lobby what bars would be open, I was told: “Here at the hotel, none. You know, it’s Sunday”. Well, I believe the W is a hotel not a business center. - Pool bar closed on a Saturday because it was lighting raining. I chose the W hotel for a quick family reunion with people coming from all over Americas. It was supposed to be fun, relaxing and a great time in an amazing hotel. Unfortunately, things turned out differently from what I expected. After staying and planning large business meetings in other luxury hotels across the world, I was really disappointed with the W in Fort Lauderdale.
