Good building but you need to walk a long way from the lift to most of the rooms. And my room is 3050, which is a block away from 3051. I was almost lost here. And the room services is poor, I need to remind and ask for the standard services.

This is my first time to the Sheraton Haikou, and will also be my last time. Fortunately, my stay here was only one night.
Did get Platinum recognition and upgraded to a Suite, but that was about the only highlight.
The condition of the hotel is showing signs of wear and tear and aging. The facilities are in definite need of a facelift.
But, worst of all is the PEOPLE in the hotel. The lack of English proficiency for such a five-star resort is shocking. For example, the Receptionist at Breeze restaurant could not even understand "table for one".
Check-in/check-out staff had poor English proficiency.
Also, I had called room service at 12:15pm to order some lunch. The gentleman who answered did not understand "pineapple and shrimp salad" (I had read it exactly off the menu). He finally said, in very broken English "I am working/walking (I don't know which); I will call you back later". Needless to say, in order to avoid talking with me in English, this person never called back. It was for my own interest that I did not call room service again; I really did want to test how long it would take for him to call. Alas, when I checked out at 2:00pm, still no return call.
Terrible, just terrible. And, unacceptable.

Typhoon Ramasun made a tremendous destruction to Haikou city, and Sheraton Haikou is not any exceptional.
Nevertheless, I am deeply impressed by all hotel staff who had been working so hard fighting against this beast typhoon since yesterday (18 Jul 2014) and working none stop for more than 24 hrs. In fact I noticed some staff had already been in standby even one day before yesterday for preparation.
Last evening, I saw staff from different departments all sweeping the floor from everywehre and reminding hotel guest to be careful. Mid night, they are still busy cleaning up and repairing, in order to ensure we (hotel guests) are in safe and comfortable condition. This morning I even saw more people cleaning the lobby, corridor, rooms that were flooded.
Despite this is a weekend with many hotel guests checking-in, they are all working with a smile on the face too.
I am totally touched by the action and spirit of this Sheraton Haikou team.
I am sure they will keep on this altitude to serve their hotel guest anytime in any condition.

I have had an other wonderful stay at Sheraton Haikou Resort. I really feel myself at home each time I stay there. The General Manager Mr. Jeremy and his entire team extends incredible attention and care to the guests. Each guest is specially valuable to them. They are a great team. They always care about me so well that I feel like I am at home even when I stay for a long period. I would like to thank Mr. Jeremy and his entire team.

I reserved an ocean view room but placed on the 3rd floor with NO ocean view but trees covered up most of my balcony. The worse part was a MAJOR construction noise started at 6:00 AM morning on Saturday 9/21/2013 that last for the entire morning until I couldn't handle it any more but to check out at 11:00 AM on September 21, 2013. It was most ridiculous when I asked for help and the staff didn't know what to do but just apologizing and doing nothing. SPG Sheraton should consider a full refund of my room stay and expect a corporate apology.

I am a regular long stay guest . The front desk woke me up at 2030pm to ask me to come and check my bill, I did checkthe following day. Then 1 week later they did the same thing woke me up at 2030pm and asked the same thing. The ala carte food is limited so if you don't want to eat a buffet everyday its tough.
The staff are friendly & polite.
