Brought the family here for a couple of nights at the end of our European vacation. Booked the room with points and cash. Got to the front desk and asked if a suite was available and was told yes. Then when booking in was told it was only the pres. suite available not any other suites and they had no upgrade for me. They put us facing the Highway on a non-SPG member floor with a none working A/C system and a fan that sounds like a helicopter and was very shaky (we left if off as we didn't want it to fall on us while we Slept.). I definitely wasn't feeling like a Plat. Member at check in pretty much felt like they were scrambling to make excuses why they made one statement when I got there and that wasn't the case.
Then we got to the rooms. The beds were bad and sunk in. The Pillows were like air giving no support and there were only two per bed.
The Breakfast was very nice in the AM but we only got to enjoy it one day. The Beach area was also very nice although you'd think they man the Towels and bar down by the water if they are packed. They also put us right next to the elevators so we got to listen to those all night as well.
Overall was left not happy even thought many of the staff we encountered after that were very nice.

Monte Carlo was one of the destinations on our honeymoon that we were very excited about visiting, however our experience at the Le Meridian was extremely disappointing and considering we have not yet had a response to the guest comments we left in the room, I will share our experience here. My husband has worked in numerous hotels and I have managed corporate events for over 15 years and neither of us have ever come across such rude hotel staff.
On arrival, the driveway was full so we parked a few meters beyond this at the entrance to the hotels car park. At no stage did any porter or concierge staff come to attend us, so I had to run back and ask what the process was. We were told to drive around the block and come back and hopefully there will be space. In a hotel of this calibre we would of expected the staff to take control of the car and valet park it from where we were forced to park.
Although we were advised at check in that our room had been upgraded to an Executive Room, it was highly disappointing to enter our room and find that we were facing the road, the Sea was no-where to be seen, what was the point in upgrading us if we did not even get water views. When we made our way back to reception to ask a different staff member, he all but laughed in our face, did not bother to look up our booking and flat out said they were fully booked and there was no water view rooms available.
Post check in when we collected our bags that were waiting in the concierge area, we thought we would be courteous and make it known to concierge that we were going to take our own bags and hand in the luggage tags so it was not thought that they were inappropriately taken, after being ignored by the mature aged lady who was at concierge for almost 3 minutes we just took them.
We made our way back to concierge to enquire about where the local supermarkets were and the same female concierge scoffed at us and seemed quite happy to advise that they would all be closed, it was only 8pm. She managed to make the time to mark on a map where they were and you can imagine our surprise when we came across the second closest supermarket to the hotel about an hour later was well and truly open for business. As the concierge of a hotel I believe that a major part of the role would be to provide guests with correct advice on the local area.
The hotel staff have obviously not been briefed to be courteous and friendly to guests as not once did any hotel staff greet us as we entered or exited the hotel, in fact every instance we came through the hotel lobby the staff were having conversations amongst themselves. Although hotel staff may of been hanging around the reception area they were always too busy talking to each other rather than helping their guests. The only instance we saw courteous staff was when we passed the housekeeping staff, who always greeted us warmly.
Although Monte Carlo is a quant city in a fantastic sea side location, I would never return to a Le Meridien property.

This is a beautiful hotel ideally situated. Great food and atmosphere, but many of the staff need some training on diplomacy and customer service. It really lacked on many levels, even the Manager I spoke to was quite difficult to communicate with and I do parle francais. Here are some samples.
I won't go into all the details, but I will say that the main problems involved the SPG Platinum recognition. I don't think I was as welcomed as I stayed using points.
Hard to get pool service for drinks. Had to chase them down and they took forever with the service.
The outside pool restaurant had amazing food, but at 4pm we showed up for a snack and stood around for about 10 minutes as waiters and hostess walked by us. at 410 I had to motion someone over and ask for a table. I am then told, we stop service at 4pm. I told the very same person that walked by us twice just standing there and asked why couldn't you tell me this when you walked by us standing waiting for a table. Gives me a very arrogant answer.
On a few occasions I had to communicate with some reception staff and they said they would call me back. I waited in my room for 15 minutes and no return call. I called to reception to find out nothing was done and I was forgotten about.
Called manager and he proved to be unfriendly and unsympathetic. I travel to France several times a year and I know their are challenges, but this is the worst customer service experience I have ever seen in my 9 years as an SPG Platinum guest.
Enjoy the property and location, but go with some lower level of service expectations.

Le Meridien Beach Plaza hotel was absolutely fantastic and made my stay in Monte Carlo perfect. The staff were amazing and very helpful and friendly- especially Yannick, Caroline, Nicolas and (a Moroccan guy).
The facilities at the hotel were brilliant and clean. The room was lovely and the bed was really comfortable.
Also, I proposed to my girlfriend at the hotel and Caroline and Nicolas were very friendly and set up the venue perfectly- the scene was so romantic and amazing. I cannot thank them more. They were very helpful and communicated with me very well.
I will definitely stay at the hotel again and will 100% recommend others to stay at the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location. The beds were very comfortable. However, I was disappointed by this hotel. The Shower is one of the worst I have ever had. The overhead shower never was more that lukewarm. The shower head has a very fine spray pattern that feels like needles hitting you. A colleague of mine said the same thing! The on-off switch for the ceiling fan is in the closet and I had to call the front desk to find out how to turn it on. The price of the breakfast 36 euros is way to expensive! two draft beers in the bar were 22 euros. Wifi should be included in the price but it wasn't . The staff were kind and friendly.

This was the last three day stop on our honeymoon. We were not greeted by the door staff when we arrived - we simply walked in and left our luggage in the lobby with no one offering to assist us. We were disappointed to see that the gold and platinum desk was closed during our check in – when we asked about the spg priority check in, we were told to wait in the regular line. The chamber staff and mini-bar staff ignored our "do not disturb" sign while we were in the room and tried to enter our room twice in one morning. While the beach staff were cleaning up some of the empty chairs, one employee chose to start collecting used towels by throwing them within five feet of our beach chairs while we were still lounging. When we asked at the concierge desk about some of the amenities of the hotel, we were told that "this is not America"... when in fact we are Canadians and somewhat unfamiliar with what her inference meant regarding Americans. Overall, the staff was very inattentive and unfriendly.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff, Tiffany, Ruslana, Antonio, and all the people working the terrace, beach, Sylvie, and the other lady working the consierge were very nice, helpful, pleasant and eager to help. They collectively made our stay very memorable. Petra at the reception needs to be more social and helpful. We didn't get the upgrade recognition we expected at the reception. However, we enjoyed this hotel and expect to return soon. The food was excellent and we ate a lot at this hotel. The beach facilities were very good. We also used them daily. This is a very well run hotel, with a beach front and very nice people always eager to please us. Thank you.

Le Meridian Beach Plaza exceeded our expectations in many ways: the location with the private beach was amazing and was easy to walk to many restaurants and venues. It also was a great place from which to explore Monte Carlo.
The service and amenities were terrific and the Concierge, specifically Virginie, was exceedingly helpful and friendly.
At all times, LMBP treated us as a valued client and provided exceptional service.
Although the restaurant's quality of food and service were excellent, the only criticism we had of the hotel overall was that the restaurant (other than for breakfast) was very overpriced. Luckily, there were a number of reasonable, beach-side restaurants nearby.

I am still staying now at this hotel.
Since I am Platinum member, I selected this hotel although it is very pricy ( Basic no view classic room costs 550 euro now in August).
Can you believe it?
When I checked in, no upgrade was possible and I was told all the ocean view rooms are occupied or sold out.
I asked I could move the room at the middle of my stays, and again was told no.
I thought nothing they could do, but 3 minutes later, I have two choices for partial ocean view rooms available.
For the money of 550 Euro(in my case, C & P),
By the way, the room condition and interior is very average.

Service at the reception desk wasn't nice. The women serving me was clearly irritated with me for no reason. Very unprofessional. At the check out our bill had 2 additional positions which we shouldn't pay for and we had to explain everything. We were right,they over charged us for things. Everything that is not included in your room price is ridiculously expensive. Breakfast buffet was very very good, but dinner was awful. Overpriced and really not great food. I wouldn't recommend it for family trip or romantic trip,but I guess when you're in Monaco for business it can be just perfect.

I took my mother on her first holiday abroad in 22 years and even I was amazed by how perfect the stay was. The hotel is beautiful and modern, the room has aircon and is clean and bright. The thing that made the experience the best was how attentive, friendly and polite the staff are. They are always willing to help. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples- anyone. The facilities are great there are more than enough sun loungers round the pool and the private beach is beautiful. Food is also brilliant. Fantastic experience over all, can't wait to go back!

Very dissappointed in my recent stay here. I made reservations for a non smoking deluxe seaview room. I also requested a high floor with no connecting door to my room. The first room they gave me was a smoking room, on the side of the building, lower floor, with a connecting door. They front desk then moved me to a first floor smoking room! What part of my reservation did they not understand? The third room they moved me to was a non smoking room on a high floor but it still had a connecting door. This is not the treatment I expect as a SPG member. The cost of the internet was ridiculous as well as the cost for the breakfast buffet, 35 Euros! They should be serving steak for that price. All in all, a very dissappointing stay.

The customer service at this hotel is horrible. I was due an upgrade on my arrival (being an SPG gold member) and was told there was none available which wasn't true because the hotel wasn't even busy (I was on my honeymoon and it had been previously noted on the reservation). I arrived at my room and was not pleased. After I spoke with a supervisor they "upgraded" me to an SPG floor (which should have been done to begin with) and gave me a room on the street side with a view of construction. It was horribly noisy.
I ended up having to take my bags up myself after they sat in the lobby while the staff just stood around. I would've expected them to take them right up after my check in. Then they gave me looks as if I'm being rude for not letting them take the bags.
Finally, I participated in the Green program they offer and forwent housekeeping for 2 days in exchange for 500 points a day. At check out, the gentleman told me I'd receive my points immediately. 3 weeks later and 3 phone calls to SPG and the hotel and I still have not received my points. I've been getting the run around from the hotel and it is beyond ridiculous. The most recent excuse is "The system is locked for the day. I will do it tomorrow."
The service at this hotel is no where near the level it should be ESPECIALLY for what it costs to stay here. Whenever I return to Monaco, I will NOT be staying here.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. I would consider staying with them again.
I did have a few issues. I had a 4PM checkout and the housekeepers came by my room about 8 times that morning. There was also an issue with my phone in my room. It rang about 20-30 times the morning I was departing(I was jetlagged and trying to sleep) and when I would answer the line had hung up. After answering it about 10 times I just let it ring once the rest of the morning because it would stop after that. Not what you want to deal with all morning long. My safe also broke after I put my passport and wallet in it.
Most of my issues were probably flukes and the staff was extremely friendly. It made my morning difficult, but I doubt it is a normal occurrence.

The Breakfast was good
The general facilities are good and the staff responsive.
It is unforgivabale that the internet connection is not included in the room fee! I can get WIFI in the smallest hotel in the smallest village in Greece included in the room charge and I have to pay for it in the Meridien.

I have worked in Monaco yearly for the past 10 yrs and always stay in 1 of 2 hotels Le Meriden is the preferred for many reasons mostly for its location, close enough to the centre of Monaco whilst enjoying the idyllic setting of the beach, pool and terrace. The front and hotel side rooms cannot be faulted especially for the views, breakfast on the terrace is the best I have had anywhere in the world, a great way to start any day, especially when a particular dark skinned chef is cooking the omelettes !!

We stayed at Le Meridien (second time) as part of a Cote D'Azur, Monaco and Lake Como vacation. We were there for two nights and overall, our experience was excellent. I am SPG Platinum and I stay in hotels about 75 days a year for business - so I would consider myself demanding but fair. This hotel exceeded my expectations and given the fact that it has a private beach, it offered an excellent balance of a place to relax during the day and close proximity to shopping and Casino Square.

Midway stop on a 3 week long European honeymoon. Nice hotel with a secluded private beach. (Only hotel with its own private beach in Monaco). Well maintained and beautiful clear blue waters. Pool area was very nice with large and deep pools. As I understood it, there were the designer rooms as seen any many of the pictures or our balcony rooms. We were "upgraded" to a standard room size with balcony and full ocean view. Small in size but the balcony and view made up for the size. I wish there was a larger designer room with balcony or maybe there was but we were not upgraded to it. Staff as overall very nice. The bus stop (bus #6) is literally in front of the hotel thus easy commute around town and to the hotel. Forget any negative views of riding a bus, communicating by bus is the best way (clean and safe) to commute around town.

All very good. My only two minor grumbles are (a) there was no booklet in the room outlining all the services available in the hotel e.g. info on bars, pool opening hours etc. and (b) I got conflicting info about whether or not I needed a passport to get into the main Casino (you don;t to get in the public section, but do to get into the private section). Alsom, the room was very hot and I couldn't really control the heating. But I am being picky - on the whole it was great.

The staff of this beautiful hotel were so responsive and were always ready with a smile to help. We only had one time when we felt that we were being a bother. We were checking out at 8 in the morning and there were 2 large conventions in the hotel. We asked the front desk if they were expecting a large number of check outs. If you have a train or plane to catch you need to know how much time you will need at the front desk. Once we explained it, all was good.

When arriving at the hotel it has the WOW factor and is very up market. The facilities are top notch, private beach, jetskis, swimming pool etc.
Staff where very attentive and was an overall pleasant experience.
Only thing I would say is don't leave food unattended during breakfast if you are sitting outstide as the seaguls tend to come and take a nibble. This is the price you pay for eating outside, although this never happened to us we did see another customer who this happend to.
Only bad thing I would say is there where not enough towels in the room for 3 people and so they had to send some up, they did say this at checkin but surely these should have already been there. Also when they replaced them the next day they only replace enough for 1 person and came back later to give us the other towels.
With the above being said I would certainly stay in this hotel again.

I stayed a week at the Le Meridien during the Monaco Historics. THE hotel to stay at….
Quiet and peaceful, but a short walk away to the action. I walked through some of the other hotels closer to town. It was a pain to get inside the lobby due to the craziness.
I ate at the restaurants inside the hotel. Always got a table, service and food were exceptional. The bar staff were very nice. Usually, we ate on the outside patio overlooking the beach. GREAT views

My overnight stay in this hotel was under my expectaction. I was disappointed by the room I was assigned. I expected a nice-view room (being a starchoice member), instead it was on the 2nd floor, with view on internal side of the hotel. Confort of the bathroom was poor, it had a small lavabo, hot water difficult to have (I could not get a hot shower).

We booked a table for 4 at 9:00pm and got our desserts at 10:45pm after one main dish only.
Otherwise the rest was very good especially the service at the beach bar where Pierre was very helpful and provided excellent advises.

This hotel has always been a Monaco favourite, however, over the past year or two it has started to resemble a package holiday resort without the package. It now offers its services primarily to the Eastern European market, there are now 4 dinner theme nights a week and a buffet lunch with no opportunity to eat from a menu other than at its Muse pool restaurant. Even on its premium floor, the 11th, there are baby carriages and walkers left in the corridors overnight (24hrs, actually) by guests whereas, just a few years ago, there was a floor manager and, in the early evening, complimentary Champagne and canapés served to each room.
The hotel has always been an idea Family hotel, however, children running around the lobby and terrace areas at 1 and 2am in the morning (a continuance of the daylight period behaviour) means anyone who doesn't have children may care to think twice before they book a stay here.
