The resort setting is incredibly beautiful, the lanai was great and the room was nice. The housekeeping service was decent but average a little inconsistent especially replacing towels and coffee. Throughout resort staff were friendly but not very helpful answer to requests was simple yes or no; if no there wasn't a alternative suggestion. Costs are high for everything dinner at the resort is 2x what you pay offsite partly due to the 20% resort tax and then if using a credit card even the spg AMEX an additional 3% is added very annoying. The billing is very confusing i am still not sure if i have been over charged but i had extra charges that were added which should have been included with my Gold Status but i had to dispute and escalate to a manager. I would not recommend this resort in fact would warn people that it does not live up to value for the quality of experience really doesn't do Fiji or SPG justice

Not happy especially we booked 3 rooms and breakfast was included in the package but some how the communication between reception and restaurant where everybody has breakfast was absolutely poor . First 2 days was ok when they got it wrong but when its 3rd final day and the staff still hasnt got it right its very embarrasing for my son. I had to let the staff know that breakfast was included and there reply was "sorry mam its reception not cummunicating with the staff at restaurant.

Our first holiday away with our 8 month old boy. Last week of July 2012, weather was great about 30 degrees and sunny every day. A great time to go as the resort(s) weren't busy.
Arrived Nadi airport and traveled to the Westin with a TTF transfer which only took about 30 mins (booked online).
Check-in was fast and easy. We asked if the Cot was in the room and they said it would be shortly. We were taken to our room via a "golf buggy" vehicle.
Within 10 mins reception phoned to ask if we were happy with our room (ocean view). We mentioned we were still waiting on the cot (arrived in the next 10 mins).
Room was great, clean, plenty of room, a/c can stay on when you leave, bath/shower room was a "wet room". A shower curtain around the bath but not the shower!
Buffet breakfast was great, lots of hot/cold options for all, including our little boy.
Moo Moo restaurant was great, reasonably priced for a resort plus 20% discount if you ate between 6-7pm (plus while we were there, kids meals were free).
As the neighboring Sheraton(s) are also ran by Starwood you can use their facilities and dine at their restaurants (and charge to your room). I would recommend making reservations if eating at any of the resort restaurants.
We also ate at the Denarau Port where there are about 6 or so restaurants and are cheaper than the resorts. Taxi from the resort is 5 FJD each way. There is also a small supermarket at the Port.
All the staff were so friendly especially with our little boy, each day many would greet him by name; our little boy loved them all. The cleaning staff were great, our little boy was sick on our bed just after they had made our room, within a few minutes she was back and changed our bed again.
Pools were great, Westin had a great toddlers pool which our son loved, there was plenty of space to lounge around in the sun. Plus you also have the option of using the other Sheraton pools (about 3 to 6 min walk along the waterfront).
There isn't much of a beach at the Westin and probably wouldn't want to swim in the ocean there, but they do offer a free water taxi out to the nearby island which has a beach and cleaner water.
As we had our little boy with us we didn't do any day trips this time. We would love to book our next holiday here!

My husband and I had 3 nights here in October 2011 after 7 nights on an Island and wished we had more time here. What a magnificent Hotel with superb facilities and friendly helpful staff in all areas. I didn't use the Spa so can't comment there but if it was anything like the rest of the Hotel it would be fantastic.

This is the fourth year the Shoe Clinic group has used The Westin for our conference. As one of the two directors of Shoe Clinic, I believe that the hotel could recognise us a bit more with maybe a complimentary cocktail hour for our group as an appreciation of us annually bringing 40 odd people to the resort.

We only spent one night at this resort. The resort is well kept. The garden view room was fine, quite comfortable though starting to look a bit dated. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade though. The pool area is nice though we mainly saw it at night. We ate in the Kitchen restaurant. The steak was excellent but rest of food was average and quite expensive (even with 15% discount). Wine prices also seemed very high compared to Australia. Staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely place to stay, very comfortable beds!! It was always clean and tidy.
Just too expensive to wine and dine there.
We had a steak meal that came with a token corn salad $70!! Plus you needed to order side salad and carb if required. Heiniken was $15 Fijian plus 20% on top of that.
Keep in mind you can't swim on Denarau and the pools are much colder than the ocean, I forced myself to have 1 swim in the pool over 7 days, spent the rest of the time doing daytrips to the Islands for swimming and cheap eating and drinking.

Three things let the hotel down:-
1. The rooms were not cleaned or serviced until unacceptably late in the day, around 4-5pm each day. We were up early so there was not excuse, there do not seem to be enough rooms cleaning staff. When we arrived our room was not ready for our 3pm check-in time.
2. The breakfast restaurant was far to busy and staff could not cope with the number of guests on several mornings.
3. The air-conditioning was extremely noisy, so noisy that we could not have it on at nights, unless using ear-plugs.

The westin Fiji is absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived the service and facilities far exceeded any previous holiday destinations we have been to. All the staff are friendly, happy and make your stay so extraordinary relaxing and you don't even have to lift a finger. Best spa experience, a massage is a must. The room was perfect, we wanted an island experience and that's what we received, will defiantly return for a future holiday.

Excellent service. Ultimate resort experience if you would like to chill out and relax in luxury. Also, if you're a busy bee there is lots to do on this island! You'll never get bored. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!!! Definitely recommend to friends

We arrived less than 24-hours before the Category 4-5 Cyclone Evan hit the Islands of Fiji. We were helicoptered off a small island for our safety and to get the mainland of Nadi. The resort was beautiful and the staff outstanding in every way. We had a beautiful ocean front 1-bedroom suite, with a small kitchen and living room, large bedroom and five-fixture master bath. The night before the Cyclone - the resort was festive and all the guests were enjoying the pools, bars and restaurants. The employees waited until the next morning to start locking down the pool and other areas down to give the guests as much time enjoying the amenities of the resort. At all times at least one restaurant was open, along with the shops, bakery, and small snack store before the Cyclone hit.
I am sure the employees were worried about their own families and homes, but they were all there doing their jobs with smiles on their faces and could not have been more pleasant.
We were unable to get any flights out and asked the front desk what the procedures were for extending our stay. Not only did they extend our stay, the actually lowered our rate (by almost 50%) and included breakfast the next morning.
The Cyclone hit Nadi around 4;00PM local time the next day and all guests were advised to stay in their rooms. The terrible storm lasted almost 12-hours and it was extremely powerful and devastating. The major electrical systems (air conditioning) did go down, but there was enough power for lights. Our room did suffer about an inch of water on the floor, but we could care less as we survived the massive storm. As we left the room around 7am, the staff was already at work (over 100 employees in total) cleaning the massive debris, down trees, etc. To everyone's surprise, there was a staff of about 15 in the dinning area serving a HOT full breakfast buffet - all at no charge. By afternoon the bar was open, lunch was being served and the staff was working non-stop to return the resort to somewhat operational.
Throughout the day, even guests and children were helping clean up the debris. By 7PM, less then 14-hours after the Cyclone the staff was able to clear the several hundred yard drive down to the main road for access.
We were able to leave on a late flight and the staff sent us off with a warm smile.
This is how a hotel should be run. Bravo to the General Manager and the absolute wonderful staff in Fiji!!

We were disappointed that we did have to wait 3.5hrs before we could get into our room, we had been up since 3.30am @ certainly was in need of a lie down on arrival. But apart from that our stay was great, everyone so helpful & friendly

What horrible experience we had.
Few reasons why we would not be staying at Westin ever again or would recommend to anyone
1/ our confirmed reservation for villas accommodation was cancelled without us been notified.
2/ no alternate rooms booked until we turned up at the hotel.
3/ reception desk have no sense of customer service.
4/ we got rooms made available but not until after 4pm when we returned to check again – was promised phone call as soon as rooms were ready – still waiting for that phone call. No apologies what so ever.
5/ pools are so bloody cold
6/ pool staff didn’t want to issue towels – they cared less about guest busy talking between themselves – was asked “what do you want” off course pool towels what else.
7/ overpriced hotel compared with service and facilities provided. Thanks god we never stayed longer at Westin.
We as two families were so disappointed with the service provided that we would rather stay in some cheap hotel then in Westin.

This hotel is the oldest on Denarau Island. It has a wonderful ambience, especially of an evening. The grounds are well kept and the staff generally friendly.
It is a shame the hotel is let down by noisy rooms and a hit and miss shower experience,e.g.it is hard to get a satisfactory mix of hot and cold water for a shower. The rooms have poor television reception.
A major failing is the lack of toilets to service the wedding chapel and activities on the beachfront. For this reason I could never recommend this hotel for a wedding using the chapel.

2.Next day ,4pm, room not serviced towels short supplied.
Very disappointed for a 5 Star Hotel.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. First time overseas and what a place to go to!! The staff at the Westin are very friendly and helpful and always with a smile say Bula. The staff are always up for a quick chat and help with advice on resort events that are happening. The resort facilities are top class, with great views of the ocean and some islands while in the pool, or having dinner at the Moo Moo. The Westin even has some smaller markets, selling some hand crafted souveiners. The rooms are well appointed, we had a King size bed that was comfortable, and the pillows to match. Not much in the way on TV, but in Fiji, you wont have much time to watch TV.
There is so much to write, but don't take my word for it, stay there and find out out for yourself!!!

We went to the Westin for our 30th wedding anniversary, the staff was great and the view was great. The room was average but comfortable, the grounds were very well kept. The staff was the best part of the stay a special mention to Asiveni (Guest Relations Ambassador) who took care of all our needs, Natava (Server) who made sure we were will taken care of for breakfast, Emi (Bartender) who made me special drinks all week and Joe who made sure we were comfortable sitting poolside. All the staff was great and we even had a visit with the GM. We will certainly put the Westin Fiji on our list to visit again.

Everything was great from the moment you stepped out of the taxi, Staff was friendly, helpful and a delight. The food was amazing, Rooms were clean and of a good size, very comfortable bed, slept very well. Great layout and well located to most of the attraction.

- Hotel has very authentic theme compared to other resorts on the Denarau Island.
- Staff is very accommodating (Got free spa treatment as we were there on our honeymoon)

We felt very relaxed at the resort. The poolside areas are set up well. We liked the design of the pool area and there were ample sun lounges available during the day. Obtaining beverages was relatively simple, mostly we were served without needing to get the attention of wait staff. Most staff were friendly. We ate at the resort only one night out of four, as we found the restaurants at Port Denarau more affordable. We were a bit disappointed with the steak from the steak house at the Westin, Our request for Pepper sauce was declined by the chef! Overall though a lovely resort and would stay again
