Rated 5 out of 5 by Photos don't do the resort justice My wife and I planned our trip to Langkawi premised on staying at the St Regis hotel - unfortunately the hotel has delayed yet again it's scheduled opening from last year to April 2016. We then decided to split our stays between this hotel and started our break at the Andaman which we thoroughly enjoyed - the Andaman's location is hard to beat and best described as idyllic. We knew the Westin's advantages included a recent renovation and easy access to Kuah town (which in hindsight is missable) but that it's beach was less than perfect. The Westin easily surpassed our expectations with luxurious rooms, infinity pool and generally exceptional service. The breakfast was fabulous especially the Asian cuisine options , super efficient open kitchen/egg station and the sparkling wine. SPG recognition was generous with an upgrade to a Seaview suite and welcome bottle of wine. Only a couple of minor shortcomings detracted from what was an otherwise perfect stay. First on arrival, I was surprised no assistance was offered or directions given on parking my car. Second the service at the Tide restaurant went from outstanding to very average over two consecutive nights. In conclusion, would enthusiastically return in a heartbeat! January 30, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by a very good stay we wanted a nice relaxing vacation at year end, which we did not quite get given the holiday season rush. however our overall stay was very comfortable. the hotel facilities are upto mark, they have been very responsive and rewarded us with an instant upgrade of our room. it was a pleasant surprise. However our experience with in-house car rental was very disappointing. this is a 3rd party service that do business within Westin premise. when we returned the car after 2day rental, they did not go with me to check and take the car back. later they came to me saying i have caused a damage in the car, which was an outright lie. When i strongly protested and denied to even talk about it, they did not come back. it was an unfortunate event. I would request Westin authority to make sure this kind of event does not occur. Westin is responsible to look after the interest of their valued guest. January 2, 2016

Rated 1 out of 5 by Smokers paradise! Families BEWARE! This hotel is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY for those parents serious about the health of their kids. The moment we walked into the hotel we were greeted with stale second hand smoke smell.... there were smokers at the front lobby. Our room wasn't ready and we had to wait 1 hour to get the room. The only restaurant available to sit down at was the Breeze Lounge which had people smoking. Discovered that of the various restaurants only one, Seasonal Tastes, was non-smoking! We were travelling with our kids and we didn't want them exposed to the cigarette smoke. This limited us to only 1 restaurant or in-room dining. Went to the pools... AND... smoking was allowed. You come up for air while swimming to take in... you guessed it second smoke! Westin really has to implement basic globally accepted standards for smoking/health at this hotel. For a 5-star hotel, the management of this hotel has scant regard for the health of their guests. Last time I will be taking my family to a Westin. Service however by the staff was very good and friendly. October 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic hotel Beautiful setting with a fantastic hotel. Great restaurants with thai food and fresh seafood along with amazing responsive and friendly staff. Attended a JING Tea Masterclass in Breeze which was so insightful into the world of tea and the fabulous range of teas on offer in the hotel. They really went the extra mile to make my stay as great as possible. I will definitely be returning again soon. September 29, 2015
