I came with very high expectations after reading all the nice Reviews, but was very much disappointed during and after my stay.
I booked 2 rooms for a friend of mine (SPG Platinum) and myself (SPG Lifetime Platinum). Upon Arrival we found out, that only his room got upgraded and the check-in Agent was desperately looking for a room to upgrade me as well.
After some 10min he gave me a room saying it was an upgrade but not as nice as the other room (amazing that normal SPG Platinum members get Preference over Lifetime Platinum Members).
Anyway, we went to the room to find out it was a room nicely equipped for handicapped People (and as we found out later bigger than a normal room) with twin beds.
I required at check-in if we could change the room to a room with king-size bed and standard bathroom. Check-in changed our room telling me it was a bigger room. Upon arrival at the room we found out that it was actually much smaller. By that time I gave up to change the room again.
It was a room with partial sea view and no balcony.
Durng the night it is quiet around the Hotel, but unfortunately the aircon is not really quiet. Partially it is quite noisy, but nothing u can do, and the aircon also does not cool down to the temperature that u set the AC on.
Next morning we went to a nice breakfast area with the Option to sit outside nicely overlooking the ocean. As the Hotel seem to be pretty busy Service was extremly slow (but friendly). I had to wait 15min to get green tea, as first no green tea was available, once this Problem was solved, no tea pots where available etc.
Furthermore it is disappointing that at a 5star Hotel you do not even have a egg station, where you can get freshly prepared eggs. Rest of the breakfast was ok.
In the afternoon we were in our room with open window, only to find out that one floor below our room is an side entracen, which ssems to used quite often for staff and guest to smoke. Hence you get all the smoke into the room. Unfortunately this did not keep away the mosquitos, which woke us up at night. Unfortunatly there is no anti mosquito equipment in the room.
Overall a big disappointment and I can not recommend this Hotel. Try to especially avaoid rooms 180 and 181. Maybe the rooms with balcony are nicer.
The location is nice and the ground well kept. Most of the staff is nice and helpful.
be Aware that they charge 23€ per night for parking, else you need to park somewhere in a street nearby, which I guess will be difficult in high season.

It was a wonderful stay at the Le Meridien RA Hotel. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful, the spa excellent, food high quality and the staff very qualified and attentive.

The giant Thalassotherapy spa area is amazing and free to guests. The setting is completely tranquil, yet restaurants and shops are a short walk away on the beach front. The mini bar is spacious enough for your own snacks and wine. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food and cocktails were imaginative and delicious. Round trip train to Barcelona is less than 10 Euros per person, but the hotel was so amazing, we spent only 1 day in Barcelona. This resort is its own destination.

After reading all about Le Méridien Ra Beach Hotel and Spa and looking at the wonderful pictures before we left on holidays, we knew a little about what we were getting into. However; we had no idea that the entire staff would make our stay at this hotel (I now call our second home) such a memorable one. The friendliness was real and typical for the Spanish people. The humbleness and yet professional attitude everyone had made me feel like I was NOT in a hotel, but at someone's family home. That extra touch that really matters for me when I am on holiday!
