Rated 5 out of 5 by haba101 very special property
when staying at a luxury collection property, i expect the facilities to be luxe, and certainly this property meets those expectations. from my viewpoint, the way the staff makes you feel so very special, recognizes your spg loyalty, is what separates one property from another. knowing, it is your birthday, a special gift, and a staff that is gracious, and professional is what you remember about your stay. special thanks to suzanna and alexandra, who really are true concierges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RODNEY17 A thorough delight ( for adults)!
As longstanding Platinum SPG members, it's a tough choice where to stay on Mallorca.
St Regis on the beach, the Sheraton Golf resort Arabella with the bigger/better pool or the Son Vida.
After 5 nights at Son Vida, talking to other regular guests and visiting the other hotels, I was convinced our decision was vindicated.
Son Vida is the "adult" choice with a touch of bespoke service without being stuffy. Everything "happens" seamlessly.
I struggle to fault any aspect of the hotel and would return in an instant.
Special mention to the excellent breakfast restaurant managers Maria and Nicole and the charming and obliging chef manning the egg station.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 75nightPlatinum Our 4th annual visit and planning our 5th vacation
We return annually as it is the amazing property the reviews say. Special thanks to Hannah at the kids camp. Our 9 year old has the time of her life there. Hannah is beyond good natured and enthusiastic and tirelessly keeps the kids entertained. Alexandra arranged to send our daughter's most cherished stuffed animal when she left it in the bed, also Alexandra took a picture of Teddy and wrote a note with him saying how he had extended his journey but was coming home--it was incredibly sweet and touching.
The food is excellent and atmosphere serene with stunning views especially sunset cocktails on the patio. Breakfast is bountiful with something for everyone and yes the chef does do an amazing job with eggs. We also loved the Wednesday wine tasting/cocktail party--it is beautifully orchestrated and management attends--again the luxurious atmosphere. We booked a room hoping to upgrade to a suite of some sort as it is much more comfortable with a child. Ramon worked tirelessly to find a solution to please us. Thank you! It meant we would have to move to the Sheraton but our daughter said no she could not possibly leave Castillo so we had a generous size room with the view of Palma and good size bathroom. We were upgraded a few levels I think and the hotel did the best possible--we booked on points. The hotel excels at maintaining a serene luxurious atmosphere while also being family friendly. Most guests did not have children while we were there--in case a reader gets the vision of screaming children overwhelming the property--it has never been like that. Thank you to all for another lovely vacation and we look forward to next year.

Wonderful and calm hotel with stunnig views, large territory, comfortable suits, professional staff and relaxing atmosphere. The only thing we would like to see during our next summer visit is more variety of food for the breakfast. Our whole staing at this hotel was perfect and we have already made a new booking for the next july! Thank you for the wonderful holidays!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carlos2222222 This place is epitome of luxury and service.. . Truly a magical place
It is like everyone has said in other reviews this place is one of the best places we have stayed at and we travel extensively and have stayed at all types of star levels and different types of hotels.. . .. but even if you are seasoned traveler this place will WOW you.
My wife and I have traveled extensively and have stayed at some nice places but this place left us with a "Wow" experience.
Oscar del Campo the General Manager and Starwood know what they are doing and deliver the best service possible.. . .the place exudes luxury and service at every turn from check in (late check in handled wonderfully by Mariano) to breakfast staff who work seamlessly amongst themselves to get you food and coffee every morning to evening drink staff .. . to concierge who gave us wonderful recommendations to valet who are all wonderful). Everyone I MEAN EVERYONE has been carefully selected and trained on how to treat people with respect, professionalism and friendliness.
Room: Beautiful room in 552 which had nice balcony and view of gardens. We loved this room but didnt stay much here as so much to enjpy
Facilities: The place has nice outdoor pool (we didnt use it as we had already spent a couple of days basking on Mediterranean sun at SPG Le Meridien Ra) and indoor pool with jacuzzi (which we didnt discover until were about to leave). The outdoor patio and terrace are just the best place to have a drink and enjoy Mallorca skyline. It was our favorite place to hang out and relax
Breakfast: This was a wonderful feast of all assortments of cold and warm food items for every palate. The cook in 2nd room makes omelettes and other warmer dishes and I must say you have to try his omelette as I have never tried such a delicious omelette which was so thin but delicious. Bravo to the cook.
Service: This is where this place shines.. . .my wife and I are still raving about our stay here
Misc: There is a special wine tasting event held in terrace every Wednesday night (Macià Batle is winery with whom they have special arrangement and you can tour winery free of charge if scheduled in advance before by concierge and if you are hotel guest)
Verdict: We can't wait to come back! My wife and I commented on how much we loved his experience and she even said "I would love to live here forever," and I agreed what a magical place.. . .
Room Tip: Wed Night There is wine tasting event be sure to go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by beeper Restful property in a beautiful location
We were very excited when arrived at the hotel after a busy time in Madrid. So relaxing in Mallorca. We got a Platinum Suite upgrade. Loved we could get customized eggs prepared by excellent chef at breakfast, and good coffee. Wish no one could smoke
On the patio, but they can. We stayed at the hotel for dinner for the two nights we were there, and were unfortunately not able to get the buffet which we had read was terrific because we were there on the wrong nights. If it was anything like the fabulous breakfast buffet, it would have been another A+. There is a lot of staff, so we always felt like everything we needed to know was quickly answered as we had never been to the Island before. We only rented a car on Mallorca, so took advantage of it and went to a beach about 45 minutes away. If you do that, check about jelly fish. We talked to a lady there who got 3 horrible stings and it made her calf red, bumpy, painful and ugly. The concierges are patient and well versed on Island info. Didn't play golf, but everyone said the courses were fabulous. Loved the pools. Very hot already the end of June. You may need help driving to hotel. Lots of twists and turns from airport even though directions are complete there are a lot of round-a -bouts on the way there. You will love everything about the property. Palma is a bit of a drive, but public bus is right outside hotel gate so this simplifies life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Prickles10 Wonderful location with excellent facilities.
Recently enjoyed a truly excellent short break at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida . Location great, staff attentive and helpful, cuisine excellent, great facilities, and topped off by a room with a truly wonderful panoramic view of the Bay of Palma and beyond from the " Balcony of Mallorca". A memorable experience.
