Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply the best! Excellent hotel and location. Wonderful service , food, staff could not have been more attentive but in a discreet way. Never felt pestered. Just felt very comfortable and at home. The showers in the room are one of the best for a refreshing rain shower. The views of lake from hotel are excellent. Rated 5 out of 5 by A lovely property Stayed at this hotel as a part of an office outing. It's a beautiful property with a lot of open space. You can bask in the sunlight, next to the swimming pool or roam around on the properties. Also has a spa, but I couldn't visit it. Visited this in winter, so was very thrilled with the sunny, well-lit rooms. Staff was responsive to my requirements. And the sitting area right outside the reception is absolutely lovely. It's a little far from the city, but with autorickshaws available right outside the hotel, visiting the city was pretty easy. Overall, a very good experience... 1 de febrero de 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great overall experience The best part about the Sheraton Hotel in Udaipur was the service- the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel offered a scenic view of the Fateh Sagar lake- ideal as a backdrop for taking beautiful pictures. The layout is also reminiscent of the history of Udaipur. Rated 1 out of 5 by This is not a Palace and doubtfully a Resort... The hotel is falling apart. Really, there's no way to explain the structure altogether. The ceiling is peeling off in the main entrance and although there is marble floors and columns, the place is understaffed and not properly taken care of. A few things to consider. The hotel is lying about a Club floor or a club lounge. the coffee shop at the entrance of the hotel serves as the 'lounge' where the complimentary snacks are limited and are to-order basis. The SPG recognition is poor and when checked-in no one asked wether we would want points / breakfast (which was mandatory in the rate) or gift. Only when asked about what to choose from I was told that they forgot to ask me. Oh well... Breakfast served on the basement floor is sub-standard with only 1 out of 12 hot dishes offered is for westerners. The rest is heavy Indian food served for breakfast. No substitutions and although the coffee served is good, the experience is just not per-standard. Our experience also entrails two separate occasions where the staff didn't meet our needs: the first - when the lock to the room failed to open the door and we had to wait 45 minutes with the staff who took their time to analyze the problem instead of sending us for a cup of coffee elsewhere. The second part involves dirty bathrobes which when addressed by the front desk manager (vevik) he sent someone to change them with another set of dirty ones. I asked him and the staff what could we do to receive better service but all we got were apologies. Really, substandard value for the overpriced room in a hotel which is located out on the lakes and not in the city center. Lastly, the resort tries to maintain a classic look, but is situated on roads so dirty and filled with garbage, that you ask yourself how can a resort like that call itself a palace when its so secluded. Bottom line: Out of touch, overly priced, not the right hotel to carry the Sheraton brand. 12 de marzo de 2014
