Family Plan Policy

Children 17 and under sleep free in existing room bedding. Rollaways, child rollaways and cribs will incur extra charges. Dining Children ages 3 and under dine for free in Lagoons Restaurant. Children between the age of 4 and 12 can dine from the children's menu. Airport Shuttle Children between the age of 2 and 12 years travel on airport shuttle bus at children prices. Children under 2 years of age travel free. Please note, there are no baby seats in the coach service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved the Hotel Your pools and facilities were at a very high standard. As the pool gets crowded there are limited deck chairs and beds and is very hard to find a spot. Other than that it is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Loved it and will be back there agin. Thank you to your kind staff and met my expectations. October 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A wonderful place to relax This is the place to stay if you are after a relaxing holiday in the sun. There is no need to leave the complex at all, if you don't want to. The facilities are wonderful and the restaurants are top class. We had a wonderful break and are saving up for our next holiday at the Sheraton Mirage, Port Douglas. October 31, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Old hotel / no status recognition This stay was among my most disappointing of SPG stays. The first issue was that I was not recognized as a Platinum guest during my stay, the reason being cited as that I had booked through a travel agent (I'd booked with agents several times before and this was never an issue). As a result, I did not receive any nights toward my status, any points toward my stay, and had to pay for internet and breakfast, which are usually a part of being a Platinum member. The staff were also unable to address my questions and always had to refer to a manager (without me ever asking for one). They were all very courteous though, which is always very appreciated. The rooms were nice and spacious, but were clearly very old. It had that humid look and feel, but the bed slept nicely as a Sheraton bed would. The hallway of my building (building 1, 3rd floor) though smelled like sweat and dead fish. The pools look nice (though could use some cleaning too). I also liked the direct access to the beach August 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Having read some reviews I was a bit weary of the Mirage, however, I can only say that it was a pleasure to stay there. My 2 children loved the pool. Breakfast buffet was fantastic, and staff very warm. The hotel is definitely a bit warn and tired, but the pools and environment certainly make up for that. January 6, 2013

Resort was at full capacity yet we felt as though we had it all to ourselves, its so lovely and spacious you feel like you are in a peacefull piece of paradise! Clean and tidy, staff so friendly, breakfast buffest exceptional. Room huge wth beautiful views of the lagoon. We will be back next year! August 18, 2013

Food and wine prices way above what was presented at the table. Everybody on staff were only to happy to go out of their way to make sure that you were their guest and you were enjoying your stay. Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good hotel. This was a good hotel, the grounds and the pools were lovely. The breakfast was very good and offered a good variety. I feel that the room, although quite roomy, needed updating and the carpets also needed updating. The room was kept nice and clean each day. I would stay there again. July 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sunshine in Port Douglas Great four days in Port Douglas Stayed at Sheraton Mirage great service. We are returnees. Cooked Breakfast needs updating. Fresh fruit selection excellent. Most of the bicycles were not working. It took 4 goes to find one working. The Daintree Bar could be opened earlier than 5pm. August 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A great resort Despite some signs of corners being cut in some areas, this is still one of the best resorts in Queensland. Hope the tourist recession passes quickly and that the upgrading/ maintenance catches up again. Potentially this resort has absolutely everything you could need. May 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Value for money We booked a mystery deal and were very happy with the venue for what we paid. The property is a bit dated but still good value. The facilities met our needs - comfortable bed, great pillows, hot and strong shower, quiet room, clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. February 19, 2013

I do not know how the average family would be able to spend any length of time there. To allow families and couples to spend more time there I think that the shuttle bus to town should be complimentary to visitors. October 14, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fun weekend The hotel was what i expected except for the bfast the food look to have been there for hours and we were there ealry and the service at bfast was poor but was fine for the rest of the stay. we did not go and do another bfast after the first one it was so bad. Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location but boy it needs work We've been going here once or twice a year for about 5-6 years. Each time we book through & each time we arrive they have no idea that we've been before. When we were there is Oct 2012 we were generally appalled by the condition on the room, thread bare carpets, peeling door paint & holes in bath towels! We met people who actually moved hotels because of the condition of the hotel. We returned again in May 2013, & because of the Sheraton Passport photo we really thought they had got stuck into things & made some massive changes. The Passport photo shows a beautiful timber cabana which we went everywhere trying to find, but it doesn't exist. It doesn't even seem to be a concept, so I am unsure what it is actually there for!! There appears to be a reasonable amount of behind the scenes stuff happening, and no we didn't have any holes in either the carpet or towels, but overall the appearance hasn't started to change & the way they track return customers hasn't either. Brilliant location keeps us going back & the fact that it will get better - sometime. July 26, 2013

The rooms and villas were in excellent condition however dated in some of the finishes such as the bathrooms. This was still at a satisfactory level. November 3, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by sad We are a young familly with a child of below two years of age. we were advised by travel agent that it was self contained room, the room had no reheat facilties or microwave to steralise bottle. no freezer to free ice blocks for day trips, the room it self was clean and spacious. however all the fittings and facilities felt run down from fair wear and tear from over the year, definitly due for refit especialy at an establishment like this, wiith in minute of been in the room the electronic door security failed and we were unable to reopen door from the ouside . This was promptly fixed. we were unable to turn the fan off and the aircon was set way to low and though we had rang the front desk their instruction failed to increase the temperature, we couldn't open one window as it was stuck and the otrher that opened had no flyscreen. as we were out most of the days i can only say that we spent to miserable night sleeping in our clothes just to keep warm. The one spare blanket was used and we still froze. our chilkd spent both nights in our bed as she was cold in her cot. July 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by The Hotel is tired and lacked sufficient staff Rooms need upgrading urgently. According to staff hotel was at 80 percent occupancy. This meant the buffet breakfast was chaotic. the staff there worked extemely hard but the area was too small for so many guests. July 8, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as good as we hoped The stay at the Sheraton in Port Douglas was to have been the highlight of trip to Queensland. Unfortunately it did not live up to these expectations. The room was extremely dated, with my partner called "James Bond control panel" beside the bed, reminiscent of a 1960's Bond villains lair with little lights and buttons. The bathroom was very dated too. Although everything was functional and clean, it was not what had been expected or was fully shown in the promotional literature available online. The hotel needs a good refurbishment in the accommodation area (block 5). The pool was also a little dirty, so it put us off going into it. Also, lighting was not great around the parking areas and it was frightening for females walking through, confirmed when we were talking to other couples. Although recognising my SPG status, I felt some of the 'gifts' etc were tacky (like a 2012 calendar, when it was mid-September) and an invitation to a welcome drink in the bar was embarrassing - instructions to RSVP by 10am on day of arrival, drinks at 1730 until 1830 (we arrived at 1830)... Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel location the best in Port Douglas Hotel location is fantastic our room was Awesome, food and wait staff were a mixed bag from great to very average, however all in all a great place to stay and holiday. Will return again! January 7, 2013
