Rated 4 out of 5 by diforfun pool and Rick's
We ate outside at Rick's on Sat.am and opted for the buffet with our breakfast vouchers. We did not get offered anythiing to drink. My girlfriend had to go inside to get someone's attention. Our dirty dishes were not cleared unless we asked. After that we had two different waiters asking if we wanted refills...annoying.
The major disappointment was the pool area! We counted 7 umbrellas for over 100 chairs!! I was also very upset that a nice relaxing day at the upper pool was not to be...the kid's pool AND beach were closed. The pool was crowded and noisy! Not what we thought we signed up for.

When we checked in for two rooms, one night I requested not to be near the elevator. They only had on
Ne room ready and it was next to the elevator, if we wanted a different room we would have to downgrade. Two hours later the second room was ready and again it was next to the elevator. Two people behind the desk did the standard song and dance and again gave me the option of a downgrade.
This second room the bed was against the elevator shaft and I could hear them all night long. While going out for the evening I stoped by the desk and they offered to move me when we returned. As a platinum member I expected better options, with a more helpful attitude.
Property is lovely for families, if you want a resort, give it a try. RS

Rated 5 out of 5 by Golfer Great Staff
I found the staff awesome - especially Elrick. He is an energetic, up beat guy that will put a smile on your face. Shuttle drivers were great and restaurant service was very attentive. Hotel room was good (upgraded to suite). Some minor garbage found from previous guest upon check in. Love the square shower head!
Nice pool and cabana area.
We golfed at the South Shore course for 2 days. Not part of the hotel and because of the season there was hardly anyone there. Staff there ok but cart ran out of battery power on day 1 on hole 17. Second day no choice but to drive through some sprinklers to keep playing. Magnificent last few hotels.
Plan to return with family at some point in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Penny27 Did not meet my expectations
We booked our reservations for our anniversay and informed the staff we were married here a year ago. They assured me staff would know on our arrival. We arrived- no recognition of anniversary, room smelled of cigarrette smoke. Next room had dirty curtains and shower was filthy. The guy who booked also said we would receive more information on SPG on arrival- no one said a word about it. It is very disheartening when you expect great service and it doesn't come close. As we were leaving, no one offered to take our bags. I saw another gal pulling the cart and a piece of luggage fell off, employees just watched. I work in the service industry and I was ashamed for the employees who worked there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kirk71 Great hotel with poor housekeeping practices
Little things do count. Housekeeping did not keep the room properly maintained. Did not refill toilet paper or shampoo. One wrapper of soap was left for a four day stay. Did not replace used glasses with clean glasses. On three occasions I had to track down the housekeeping cart to ask for supplies. The small refrigerator did not work. I mentioned the problems to front desk at check out and received a cursory apology that I knew would not lead to follow up. Otherwise, this is a very nice hotel. Be aware that there were a lot of dogs at he hotel. One down the hall from us barked incessantly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Docpatti We will be back!
We had a wonderful stay. The check in was fast, efficient and welcoming. Exceptional service and friendliness. Our room was the standard king bed room overlooking the lake. Great views! The room was well appointed and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, as only a heavenly bed can be. We are always happy with our stay at a Westin property because we know the bed is so comfortable. We just spent one night, passing through to Arizona, so we were not able to use the pool or spa. I hope to us both the next time we stay. I love this property and will stay here whenever we visit Las Vegas!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Patriciakb Great location great grounds rooms fall short
The location off the strip is fabulous- grounds and view are great. The rooms however need updating. My room had rips on the chair and ottoman-these should have been replaced. Carpets are in need of updating. Resort view means view of entrance or parking. Not really what one would consider "resort" view. The location and views are beautiful but my opinion is they need to optimize this asset and update the rooms. Not much going on at the resort. Pool bar closes early - restaurants are empty. The food was fine - just a little pricey for what you get.
Lots of potential here though...

Rated 5 out of 5 by ML13 Calm and relaxing stay with lake side views
Our family enjoyed the stay at the Westin with its great kid pool area, relaxing fire pits out back for your cozy times with the spouse, and lastly a very welcoming staff. A few things did surprise us though, and not in a good way, the breakfast service at Ricks cafe was very slow and our waiter was not very attentive at all so to my delight our breakfast finally arrived and I paid a premium price for lukewarm food and burnt coffee. Please shoot to eat breakfast somewhere else during your stay. Lastly, when you cozy up at the firepits at night, make sure you watch your feet for bugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JulieK Another nice stay
Check-in and check-out was quick & easy; front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff at Rick's Cafe were great, and food was very good. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel property is looking as gorgeous as ever; lobby/seating areas look especially beautiful with holiday decor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jimbo818 Nice, but expect more from Westin
The facility is beautiful, the rooms are reasonably well-appointed, and the desk staff was fast and friendly. This is a quiet, comfortable, alternative.
The negatives were few but they left an unfavorable impression. First, the room had several cobwebs on the ceiling which I dusted myself. The staff at the pool seem young, and came across a bit surly....like high school kids who would rather not be there. The pool area was a mess with cups and towels. The pool hours on the room brochure indicated that the pool was open later than it actually was. We planned our day to have a late afternoon swim, so that was disappointing.
The criticisms aside, we did like the facility. We've just come to expect more from Westin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Colon9207 The Best so far
This hotel was the best. It was a beautiful setting and very peaceful since that is what me and my wife was trying to get some peace and serenity. The only down part was when the President was at the resort and the continued searches all around the resort but they were very professional and nice about it. Also, big shout out to Michael from the bar. He was great and very professional and the food from Rick Cafe's was amazing especially the salads. Thanks again Westin we are very happy to be SPG Member and Owner. It helps us not regret our decision in investing with Starwood.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Member Room was basic and dirty
Room had hair all over bathroom, broken bath plug and half drunk water bottle in it. The next day we got moved into an upgraded room which we had originally booked but none were available at check in. Some rooms have just windows not full length windows with Juliette balcony. Upgrade probably not worth it without the balcony as room was just the same, basic 2 bed room, bathroom with small tub and old grout. Hard beds. We have stayed at 5 other westin resorts and the rooms here were nowhere near as nice as others.
Resort is nice, despite garbage being left around from conference people. Kids loved the pool and kayaks. Rocks cafe food not so good, but staff nice, meant we had to leave the resort to get most meals.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dgf22 Great location on the lake
The bad: Horrible service, extremely unfriendly staff. Our whole stay We encountered only 2 employees that were friendly and did their job correctly. They kept on charging my debt card each day which turned out to be $1000 over my room charge, Because of their mistake we couldn't get to my money for another day or two while Wells Fargo fixed the hotels mistake. The drinks at pool were TERRIBLE, dont waste your money. They only had about 5 umbrellas at pool, I think the Westin can afford to buy more umbrellas. The good. This hotel was in a great location. They offered free kayaking and paddle boats which was great. Rooms were comfy and nice. Hotel was decorated nicely and wasn't too big. Also no casino which we liked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by teds Great w exception of front desk
Great hotel if front desk staff were trained. Left my key in room and personnel refused to accept address zip, phone #, CREDIT CARD insisting security meet me to retrieve key. Then did not notify security to meet me. I waited and waited calling desk three times to expedite. I have stayed at Westins all over the country and this policy exists nowhere else. Further, no one contacted me to apologize, and security that finally met me expressed frustration over front desk miscommunication of policy, and that no other hotel had this policy. v Event took place Jan 26 8 am

Rated 4 out of 5 by dmiller78 Not Quite a Westin yet, but its getting there.
I have come to know Westin Hotels and Resorts as being some of the best in the world. In the case of it's NEWLY acquired property located in Henderson, NV., (just outside Las Vegas) I learned this is a property that has recently been sold to Westin as it failed prior. Now that its a Starwood Hotel and Resort, I expect it will do what is necessary to bring it up to the standards we all expect and love about the Westin brand. Its a beautiful setting and the hotel has great possibilities. But its the little things that are missing or in need of replacemet or even the level of services you have come to expect from a Westin Resort that are not quite there....yet. I hope to go back next year and see the transformation completed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Harry55 Hotel has great features, but.......
Hotel placed a large 150+ group function right in the hall way entrance to my room. We arrived late and was told by front desk all restaurants were closed by we could order off menu in bar area. Bar was mobbed by the huge group, went back to front desk to be told I should do room service or call out for food. I must say I became not very nice then, and manager came and made arrangements for us to be served in the bar area. Other concerns were in room safe not functional, and other travellers TV went from on to off so much so one could not watch TV.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ERJsurprised2013 Substandard for Westin
We stayed at the Henderson Westin for the Half IM world championship 2013. The hotel staff was unprepared and unaccommodating, and generally, rude. We made reservations for dinner, arrived 3 minutes early, and were told that we were too early, and then others behind us, without reservations, were then seated. It was extremely uncomfortable. The hotel staff did not have any knowledge about what activities were going on in the hotel, and despite express promises that breakfast foods would be available the early morning of the race (3am) did not follow through. To top it off, we had a cockroach in the bathtub on arrival, and then the ceiling sprung a leak. Emails to management did not help, and neither did phone calls. Both went ignored, and unanswered.

This is an excellent location away from the madness on the Las Vegas Strip.
It is so peaceful.
The hotel setting is spectacular and the design of the hotel is very well thought out.
The only negative comments would be the fact that only some of the machines in the WorkOut Room were fully functional & that for the 6 days I spent at this resort, the Top pool (which was warmer) was available for only 1 day. The rest of the time there were private functions and educational sessions. The lower pool was at least 20 degrees cooler than the upper pool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mccoh79 Wonderful, helpful staff
I had to travel to Las Vegas for a family emergency unexpectedly. I booked the hotel on Hotwire by the star rating. I had to make my plans day by day depending on the health and improvement of my father. The staff was super supportive, eager to make my stay as comfortable as possible and providing me with a low rate I was able to afford. The hotel was beautiful and wish I had been able to enjoy it more. Hoping to go back under less stressful circumstances. Again my highest praise for the staff! ESP, Elrick, Jared, Chris, and Abdul and staff at ricks cafe!

Rated 3 out of 5 by peterre Less than I expected
After spending the first two days of our trip at the Westin near the strip, which was very nice, we were happy to be going to a peaceful retreat. The hotel was very outdated. The rooms did not feature the heavenly bed I expectd. I was also charged a resort fee of 22 dollars a day and I have no idea what for. The food was average and way over priced. There was not even a shuttle to the airport. We had to pay a taxi 75 dollars to get there. The shuttles to the strip had friendly drivers but were not often enough. Overall I was disappointed in the stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SusanJW12 Disappointing Stay
We were disappointed that the pool and hot tubs were closed for maintenance during our stay.
Insulation between the rooms needs improvement. Two of our three nights we had a small child next to us and we could hear complete conversations and constant yelling and noise from the child. We were woken up each morning around 6 a.m. so we were not well rested during our stay.

I realize that the hotel was very full during our stay, we spent 4 nights as well as 3 other groups of friends were there, when we arrived at 3pm we were not allowed to check in until after 7pm, the same happened to our friends, they said the rooms were dirty. We had no maid service x 2 days, no toilet paper in bathrooms, was told no coffee available for the in room machines only herbal tea. Starbucks downstairs took an hour for service. All in all a minimal satisfactory stay, on the other hand it is a beautiful area. Expect more from Westin>

Firstly we chose the hotel because of a relaxing environment with an option of Golf on the premises.
1. Golf course next to hotel closed for 3 years. Golf option nearby $175/round if you need clubs too.
2. There was a weekend religious event - Noisy and food on the floor throughout the hotel from the kids. - Should have been regularly cleaned and we should have been informed
3. We asked for Queen beds - We were told we had queen when we arrived. Then we are told the hotel has no queen beds. Also I dont believe they are the normal Westin Beds.

We usually love this place but they had a DJ by the pool that was so loid it felt like you were at a party hotel on the strip. We couldn't her each other talk right next to each other. We had a standard room this time and the bed was so uncomfortable. Also, no coffee was in our room. We called and they brought packets. I told them it was a kcup machine and they said "oh, you have the old coffee maker?". Also, drunks cussing loudly by the pool and girls coming around with jello shots. This was at he family activity pool!

My recent stay at The Westin Lake Las Vegas was the second time I had stayed here. The first time was in August of 2012 for a romantic weekend with my significant other, and most recently with my significant other and my family. I am a Las Vegas local that is completely in love with this place. This is my getaway from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. I always get the relaxation and quiet time that I need whenever I stay here. I love
the decor, the views, and the friendliness of
the staff. I will definitely be returning as I
have decided to take a mini staycation at The Westin Lake Las Vegas at least every four months just to rejuvenate. I am even thinking of possibly doing my wedding here when that day comes. Thank you Westin Lake Las Vegas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MsMendo24 Exceptional Customer Service!!
We are Las Vegas locals who were visiting the hotel in celebration of our 10 year Wedding Anniversary. Everyone on staff offered exceptional service. The front desk overheard us saying it was our 10 year Anniversary and offered congratulations. We were also pleasantly surprised by room service with strawberries and champagne along with a card that read "Happy 10 Year Anniversary". We lounged by the pool area and enjoyed the complimentary kayak rentals. We really enjoyed our staycation, it was definitely a nice get away even being minutes from home. Will definitely return with our children for another staycation and recommend the resort to all. Thank you for making our anniversary spectacular. We have already decided we will be back for our 11th.

The fact that I can be in Las Vegas to enjoy its beauty....away from the Casinos and the madness on the strip is the biggest plus for me. The customer service was excellent at every venue we ate and had cocktails at. The cleanliness of the facility is fantastic.
The staff were all so welcoming and gracious....felt like I was in Hawaii experiencing ALOHA!

Upon arrival, the staff exemplified the level of service and attention to detail that you would only receive at a 5 star resort. The check in was quick and the accommodations was exactly as described on the website...excellent. I had a minor issue with the TV but a technician was called and the problem was resolved within 15 minutes. The Keurig coffee and water was also a nice touch. The resort amenities including the pool and fitness room was above my expectations. We will definitely stay here again but next time it will be a longer one.
