Rated 4 out of 5 by Hard working staff, nice Plat recognition; use taxi rates posted at hotel We booked a traditional room on points and used suite nights to upgrade to a junior suite. These suites have a large sitting area with doors that close to the bedroom and a half bathroom. They also offer a huge balcony that wraps around the room. Standard Sheraton beds. The bathroom was quite nice, offering a Japanese-style toilet and standing shower as well as two sinks. They showed us the Royal Suite but given it has an outdoor entrance/is separated from the main building and lounge, and lacks a balcony raised over the Nile (the Royal does have a patio level with the water) we decided to stick with the Junior. The Royal would be a great spot for a romantic getaway. The resort feels secure and has a guard and gate prior to entry. The club lounge is wonderful as is the breakfast downstairs (either offered as an option for Platinum breakfast benefit with no up charge for the full hot buffet). Mika at the Front Desk really took care of us during our stay. They have great hookah on site too. Only reason for 1 star deduction: a cab driver that is contracted with the property and whom they recommended overcharged us on a large balance. The hotel became involved at our request to get some of the difference back, but it was a disappointing end to what was otherwise great. Their partial recovery and cheerful goodbye and saying they look forward to welcoming us again means I would definitely recommend this SPG option in Luxor. Just make sure you check cab rates that are posted somewhat inconspicuously off the lobby and enjoy all the local culture! November 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hard working staff As a SPG Platinum I am used to excellent Starwood service but I have to say, rarely have I felt as appreciated as I did during a recent visit to Luxor. From when I first walked in the door to the sad moment I left, everybody went out of their way to show outstanding hospitality. In particular I want to single out Abdou who has worked at the hotel for 27 years and was my host in the VIP lounge. Luxor is hurting for tourism. Go! The city is safe and the people welcoming. And when you go, make sure you stay here. October 22, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Once again I have the opportunity to give an exemplary report after my last stay at the Sheraton Luxor Resort. This hotel has a unique style of providing the essential home from home feeling for all guests and their families owing to professional in house training from both management and supervisors whom are a credit to themselves. All staff are happy to go the extra mike to help fulfill the wishes of their guests in a safe and caring environment especially in the peaceful surroundings of private enclosed gardens and liked by the gentle ripples of cooling waters from the east bank of the great river Nile. Cool breezes which flow down the Nile valley offer a pleasant refreshing salutation sheltered in the shade of the palm date trees, from the oriental heat of the dessert where the Valley of the Kings Nestles across the river in the Wet .Simply fantastic, come and see for yourself, you will receive only the best from all the team at the Sheraton Luxor Hotel, my special home from home, It can be yours too. Enjoy. October 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Time and Great Location We were three couples and we had a really wonderful time. Location was great! Food was good and the staff were just wonderful. Probably the best location in town. We plan to do it again sometime soon. August 18, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Secure resort for foreign travelers We visited the Sheraton Luxor in March of 2015. Things we liked: - The staff’s hospitality was superb. This held true for both the hotel staff as well as anyone involved in food service at the hotel. We felt protected from the obnoxiousness and downright begging in Luxor and at local sites. Security was very present and active. - We recommend using the restaurants at the resort as they were overall very good. The breakfast left a little to be desired—too repetitious and mundane. The nightly dinner buffets were very good and had a nice variety of all items including desserts. One night we even ordered burgers and the restaurant staff brought us bread and mezza while our food was being prepared. - The value of the Sheraton’s pay for two nights and receive a third night for free was superb. This was the best deal we could find and the hotel even allowed us to check in early. Breakfast was included and the price of dinner was reasonable so all great values as we saw it. Disappointments: - The room we stayed in was a bungalow and, unfortunately, it was not as clean as it should have been. Strangely, the hotel also did not provides wash cloths; only hand and bath towels. The tiled floor of our room was simply not clean. We chose to mop our own floor each day with our previously used hand towels. - The wireless internet available in the lobby is so slow it is difficult to even check e-mail. We purchased a one-day room connection for 19 Euro only to find it was just the same as what was in the lobby. In spite of this, there is a small flyer at the check-in desk stating that the hotel features high-speed wireless internet which was not the case. John and Felicia Colorado, USA March 27, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by The staff made it great The majority of the staff, were notably considerate and helpful, it was a little disappointing that the tennis courts were not open. Special thanks to Abdel Rhim and Sabry Khalil for making sure gluten free options were available every meal. January 11, 2015
