The hotel staff was very eager to rush you out of their way. My room key gave problems, the hall smelt of an awful stink, 3 of the light bulbs in my room were burnt, the hinge nails on the inside of the door fell out and when I went to the front desk to ask about these things, they said they would send maintence which only came once to fix the door. My daughter & I traveled alone (she is young) & when the taxi dropped us off not one bell hop came, we rolled our own luggage through the crowd.

Rated 4 out of 5 by dbenj Beautiful hotel
the hotel was beautiful and pool areas and babysitting wonderful.
We would have preferred queen beds instead of full beds in the rooms
All restaurants were very prohibitively expensive, we have gotten better quality for much less elsewhere. We went to 5 different bars/restaurants there, and felt the food while good, did not justify the cost. For the volume they do, there is no reason to charge so much for average food and drinks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MickeyXMAS2 Room 2025
1)Room 2025 is in poor condition - specifically;
a) not clean - the shower room behind the door needs a good scrub. There are maggot like insects living there.b) sink hot water faucet not working - loose and poor quality temporary fix makes it difficult to get hot water at the sink. c) light flickering above the sink d) potential hazard - the decorative glass fell from the mini-fridge cabinet door...a screw is missing from the mirror frame bottom.
2) Guest Services attitude is combative - specifically - [4 guests in the room - Front Desk at check-in said we could get 2 more bottles complementary.] When we called Guest Services they denied the validity of this information, insisted I identify by name the front desk personnel who gave this information and then did not supply the additional water.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RTO12 Not the norm....
I have stayed at this property roughly 6 times over the last 12 years. I like the property, staff, and amenities - I have returned numerous times. The hotel hasn't had a good refresh since I've been visiting. I find it slightly dated within the rooms. What surprised me was that my room was very dirty. It appeared that all the counter tops and furniture hadn't been wiped down in quite sometime. I found that very odd. Other than that I had a very plesent stay. The staff there is top notch

When checking in we were told the computers were down and nohting was mentioned on where we could wait and no comps were given. Trying to leave the self parking the hotel room key did not work to lift the gate and when we called the service for help the lady who answered the phone was rude. During our stay in jan 2014 the room key and parking was an issue, we could not leave the self parking. We have stayed at this hotel several times a year and our experience just keeps getting worse

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrianC Epcot View Rooms Are Great
The hotel wasn't fully committed this time, so we finally got an upgrade as gold members to an Epcot view room (we were offered even a premium suite, but didn't like it because it was a view of the roof). The front desk service by Trip was terrific. The room was clean and comfortable. The biggest drawback was that the balcony was filthy. The chairs and deck were extremely dirty and there were spiders and webs everywhere. It was unusable. No one has cleaned that balcony in a very long time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mark Good, but lousy Internet access
Overall my stay was fine. I was at a large conference so the hotel was really crowded, but that is expected. The only drawback I had was the inability to get Internet access or it was so slow to be useless. This is with paying an extra $10 resort fee to get access. I tried late at night, early morning with no luck. I complained on twitter one late night and got quick tweet back from Starwood. They said they'd have the hotel contact me -I'm Starwood preferred - but never heard from anybody.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Frankiel4 I would not stay at the Dolphin again
The bathroom set up was tight and strange. the sink was outside of the space with the toilet. Not very sanitary. Our room was not as clean as you would expect from a hotel of this class. There was toothpaste splatter on the frame of the mirror and shave stubble on the counter around the sink. We had requested a rollaway bed and had to go down to the lobby to remind them after 2 hours. We also asked for more pillow and never got them. We tried to call down to the lobby for our requested items and no one was picking up the phone. This was at 11:30 at night after we had traveled that day and we just wanted to go to bed. We opted for housekeeping to not come every day, but to come and clean on the fourth day of our stay. It was not done, nothing was wiped down and we made the beds. It certainly was never vacuumed. We have stayed in many of the hotels on property, I would not recommend it to anyone. Magical express does not go to these hotels from the airport, and you cannot use magic bands to open your door or charge to your room outside of the hotel shops and restaurants.

I booked this room as a surpise stay for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I prepaid for the room and asked that any additional charges be charged to my visa credit card left on file. When my parent's checked in this past weekend, they were asked for a credit card, which they provided and a hold of $100 was placed on their card and then at checkout, they were asked for additional fees that were due and my parents paid them in cash....this was a trip that was suppose to be prepaid for them and I left my credit card on file so that any additional charges would be paid and my parents did not have to worry about them....this did not happen and I am not happy about it....I will not book another stay at this hotel that I expected to be prepaid and taken off my card instead of my parents paying a portion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Biznleezurttraveler The good and bad
Good: clean rooms, customer service, dynamite restaurants, great accessibility to theme parks. Overall a very good place to stay and I would recommend to others.
Bad: bathrooms are clean and adequate but need upgrading, room descriptions not accurate (i.e. "room views of Epcot" means room faces Epcot, not necessarily with a view of Epcot, wireless internet absolutely terrible-hotel should be embarrassed to offer that poor of quality WiFi while bragging to be a business convention center.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Busn001 Very Disappointed
Hotel was very much less than expected. Staff was uninformed about business conference, and could not provide directions to conference rooms in the hotel or locations of restaurants on site. My bill was originally correct, then somehow I was charged for one day twice and took 30 minutes to resolve the issue. Was expecting a 'cast' much like the Disney brand, and received less than adequate service. Room was dirty upon entering, and had sheets with blood stains. Will NEVER stay here again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Michelle67 Great hotel, poor staff communication
I just got back from a two-night stay at the Dolphin. There were several issues during my stay that ruined what would have been a great experience. From being put in a parlor room the first night to then having the front desk misplace a credit card authorization form (which they had the previous day), I was very frustrated. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained. However, the staff that support it seem to communicate with one another poorly, which affected my guest experience.

I was charged for smoking in my room, we did not smoke in the room and I questioned the charge. I asked to see a manager and no one came to the front desk, said they were all busy. I asked for the managers name and phone number and the staff person left the front desk for 15 minutes then came back and was rude and seemed to not want to give me the managers number. I told them I had to catch a flight and the manager never came. I refuse to pay this and will contact my credit card company.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ernie57 room comfort / billing
The room was fine. It was the bed that was too soft.
My stay was fine until it came to billing. My account was almost overdrawn if I did not catch the fact the Hotel had put a hold on my account even after I had paid the bill. After I got that straight, a day later I again saw an additional amount being taken from my account. I had been charged for the room twice for one night. I called and got that straight. So far it has been 2 days and the refund has not been put back into my account.

It was our a family first vacation in a year we needed it. From the moment we drove up we were greeted with a smile by the Valet and walked into the beautiful front lobby. As we walked up to the front desk we were greeted with a big smile and checked in quickly. We then walked into our room and was delighted with everything AMAZING. We needed extra pillow and within minutes received them from housekeeping. We will be returning and recommending this hotel to all our family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Diogenes13 Great to see quality *everywhere*
I travel quite a bit for work and have stayed in a wide range of hotels. I was at the Dolphin for a conference, and in addition to the helpfulness and friendliness of the "cast-members" and the good food, I couldn't help but notice all the details, the cleanliness, the landscaping details, the impeccable maintenance in a building that clearly accommodates 1000s of guests a day. In a world where "good enough" is king, it was really lovely to see an organization where everyone gave 100% and did it with cheer and pride. The fact that the name-tags have a "my passion: " element also provides a subtle reminder to guests that the cast-members ought to be treated with respect as well. The arrangement with Mears to get to/from the airport was very convenient for those who would rather not get a rental car.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ssloss Room was worn out and filthy
The room was very worn out, and very dirty. There were chunks of something on the bathroom floor and door (I'd be willing to bet it was some sort of body excretion). The tile around the bathroom and in the bathroom was filthy, it looked like it had build up of staining from years of improper cleaning. The grout was filthy. There was hair in my bed. The a/c was inconsistent, it either didn't work at all, or made the room freezing. This was my first, and likely last stay at this property.

Rated 3 out of 5 by palmetto12 needs improvement for the price
First of all the staff was great. But the minute we got there, the toilet overflowed. We had to use all towels, wait for maintence and housekeeper. We had a dirty dried out washcloth hung over shower curtain rod, im assuming from the guests prior to us and our keycards wasnt encoded so we couldnt get in room when we left for the first time. The bedskirt had stains on it too. Also, there was butter and drink boxes left in refrig. I guess this is just not what we expected for the price.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Dolphin for a software conference. As usual, the stay was excellent, the conference was hosted in professional manner, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This 5-night stay only reinforced our belief that the Dolphin is our favorite hotel. The facilities, staff, and location cannot be beat. We look forward to future stays at the Dolphin. Thanks to all for another wonderful and memorable experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jigen91 Housekeeping was lacking but great location.
Previous stays at this location provided great housekeeping but this stay we were short on towels four days in a row. Water and coffee were replenished only twice in a seven day stay. The in-room safe was never repaired. Some of the light bulbs did not work. The room key cards did not work upon check-in and we had to get new ones made. We had to call housekeeping almost daily to correct some type of issue. We like the hotel and surrounding area but were disappointed with the service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MicaF Take the good with the bad
Can't beat this hotel for the location to the Boardwalk and the convenience of taking the water taxi to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
For a luxury resort, I feel the rooms are outdated. Bathrooms are dingy. Beds are soft. Like the bigger rooms here but disappointed that there's only double bed options. Would be nice to have real queen sized beds or kings with a sleeper sofa.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KEVIN217 Dance Convention
We were there for the Camp Pulse dance convention in November 2013. The overall hotel facilities are very nice. This hotel is huge and there are a lot of people staying here so be prepared to wait for some things such as at the coffee or ice cream shop. Rooms are not insulated that well and we had a screaming baby in the room next to us. We also had friends in our party that had to change their room several times due to a lack of cleanliness or the smell of smoke. The only other complaint is that the restaurants are expensive, including the cafeteria style one called Picabu. This is expected when staying at such a large hotel and usually we would run out to a market of cheaper restaurant. However, when you are at an all-day dance convention there is no time to run out. My only advice is to pack a cooler!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steven1508 more like a hostel
We expected the Hotel as a Family Hotel and finally 6.000 workshop member entered the Hotel and switched it to a hostel. Pool sessions until 01:30 am, loud and screamy people where ever in the hotel and two nights on our floor. If I'm thinking about the price we've paid and the quality level we finally got - it's a shame!
The first morning all forks, knives and spoons where dirty and the table seems to be cleaned a few weeks ago, the same the day after.
On the second day someone missed the restrooms at the pool area and "uploaded" his excrement directly on the way to the restrooms. A few stuff member walked by, nothing happened and no one celeaned up.
If you are SPG member do not expect special benefits. Nothing - no upgrade - "sorry totally booked", no late check out - "sorry totally booked", nothing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BT001 Not a good value for the money
Sadly, I felt the hotel was very over-rated and over priced, especially around meals. We had a group dinner at the Blue Zoo which was very expensive, and I would grade a B-/C+. When I asked for a change of room upon check-in (I was on the 1st floor and not comfortable with that), I received a snide remark ("If I had another room, I would have offered it to you"). I also think the hotel is looking dated and needs a refresh. Disappointing experienced, especially given the cost.
