Rated 5 out of 5 by Pat41 Wonderful experience
We recently stayed at this Sheraton for a trip to Disney World. All that we experienced here was more than we had expected. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Luis S. who was extremely friendly and accommodating. He made sure all was in order as we had requested prior to the trip. We stayed in a one bedroom unit in building 24 on the second floor and had a corner unit overlooking the water and water fountain. Parking was very convenient right in front of the unit. The location was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The living area was spacious with a couch, chair and TV. The kitchen was equipped with a stove, microwave and refrigerator as well as all needed kitchen utensils for cooking and eating. We also had a very nice small screened in porch outside of our kitchen with a table and chairs. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. Housekeeping came every day.
Early on during our visit we needed to have our refrigerator fixed as it wasn't working very well. When we called maintenance they came quickly (within 5-10 minutes) and fixed the problem right away by replacing the fan. After that, all worked well. We also needed maintenance for a question regarding the dryer and again they came very quickly and immediately resolved the issue. On both occasions the maintenance staff were very helpful and friendly. We even received a call shortly after they left to make sure everything was fine!
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again. This is a great place! Close to al the major attractions and an easy commute to each. Luckily, Luis also checked us out on our last day and we were glad to report to him how much we enjoyed our stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Malcolm What an Amazing Hotel
This resort was one of the best Sheratons I have ever stayed at. We came for 2 nights for New Years 2011. The location of the resort was in reach of every major Theme Park including (Sea World, Disney World, and Universal Studios). The staff is really nice. And the very spacious rooms in the Key West Phase were amazing! You can also have endless fun at all of their pools. I also like that there is a guard at the entrance 24/7 so only the people staying at the hotel can get in. The only cons were that the wi-fi wouldn't work because they don't have a close enough hotspot and that they don't allow pets. Other than that, everything was fantastic! I can't wait to come back in the Spring!

Rated 1 out of 5 by dickmaven A Spoiled Weekend
Last Thursday we got a call from our daughter that her family trip scheduled for the weekend to attend a wedding in San Antonio was cancelled due to the terrible weather in the Northeast. However, she was able to get a Sunday evening flight to Orlando for her entire family. We did not want to miss this opportunity to spend time with her, our son-in-law and our two youngest grandchildren (6 & 8). They were going to stay through Saturday at the Sheraton Vistana Villages. We immediately booked a handicap room for Sunday night and Monday night at a high cost. Little did we know that there was a $50 per day additional facilities charge. Since they would be arriving after mid-night she asked us to get some things for the kids’ breakfast. She called the hotel and requested that we be permitted to go into her assigned room and leave the food in the refrigerator on Sunday when we arrived. She was assured that we could do that.
We arrived around 11:00 a.m. and were told we could not check in, nor could be put anything in her room. The hotel told us that they would try to assign us adjacent rooms. We were told to come back later in the day. We did have a cooler with ice so we felt safe that we could keep the milk cold for a reasonable time. We went off shopping for several hours (unsuccessfully, I might add). We returned to the hotel around 3:00 p.m. and a lovely young lady by the name of Kayla sadly informed us that it was not possible to put the food in the room, but she would make arrangements for it to be put in a hotel refrigerator until the 4:00 p.m. check in time. We came back at 4:00 p.m. and my wife waited in line for about 35 minutes and then another 30 minutes while Kayla worked out the details of our check in on a very slow computer system. Finally we were able to put the food where it belonged. However, we lost the entire day. It was too late to go in the pool or take advantage of the facilities.
The next day, off we went early in the morning to Sea World with the sleepy children. Most of the day was delightful in spite of the crowds until my handicap scooter decided it no longer wanted to work. My wife and I headed back to the hotel around 2:00 p.m. figuring we would spend the rest of the beautiful warm day by the pool or just relaxing in our lovely room. However, when we arrived at the hotel we discovered that there was no electricity in our building, therefore, no elevator to the third floor where we were staying. No chance to shower, change clothes, etc. Rudy White, the manager on duty offered to go up to our room to get whatever we needed and was very kind. However, since the power company was on the way we decided to wait it out. When the family came back from Sea World, there was still no power. They went for a swim but when they got to the pool it was closed due to someone having an accident in it. They then found another smaller pool for a few minutes. We then went out to dinner. When we returned the power had not been restored to the elevator so we found Kayla and she credited one day’s facility charge of $50 and found us another room on the first floor in a building a little distance away. Rudy was elected to help us move our things. My wife packed everything and then Rudy showed up to move us. Just at that point the power to the elevator came back on so we elected to stay in our original room. Rudy told us not to worry he would inform the front desk. However, as we were baby-sitting our grandchildren we decided to notify the front desk to be certain that it was done.
You would think that would be the end of Murphy’s law. We were exhausted so we went to bed around 9:00 p.m. when our services were no longer needed next door. At 9:15 we received a call from an unpleasant woman who insisted that we did not belong in our room, that the room showed on her recods as vacant for the last few days and that we would have to leave. She and I had words and the conversation ended. I went back to sleep only to be awaked by noise at our front door at 9:45. By the time I managed to get to the door (being handicapped I walk very slowly) two men had opened the door and were entering. This panicked me but after the initial shock I realized they were hotel security personnel risking their lives (in “stand your ground Florida”) entering my room. One of them told me to get packed and get out since I did not belong in this room. I offered to show them my paperwork that was given to me when we checked in, but the other security man looked at me, offered his apologies and then told me to go back to bed. Needless to say there was no sleep after that. Just anger!
Tuesday morning there was no manager on duty at 7:15 a.m. so we spoke with a lovely lady by the name of Yamaris. She was very apologetic and sympathetic with our horrendous two days at their establishment and she assured me that in due time I would be refunded for one day of my stay. I told her that I felt we should get a full refund but she would not respond to that. However, that $50 credit we were given by Kayla was ultimately offset by a $50 facilities charge. It appears insulting to me to have to pay a facility charge for a day with check-in at 4:00 p.m. There was no time left to use any facility on the grounds at that point since we did not have an opportunity to get into and settled in our room until nearly 6:00 p.m. Monday, with the power out and no elevator again we had no opportunity to use the facility.
This was a lovely facility whose personnel were warm, pleasant and tried to be most helpful. But their systems, etc. did not help to make this a pleasant stay. I do not believe we will ever stay in a Sheraton again.

I booked this hotel because of the location to the convention center. The hotel looks like a fantastic place to stay for families, but not for business travel. I checked in at noon, but did not get my room till 4:15pm although the parking lot was not full. No platinum level perks; Water, early room entry, upgrades, welcome gifts, also had to leave my room by 10am., etc.. I have not had the same issues with other Starwood vacation resorts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ekta Second stay here, good with one exception
We booked the Sheraton Vistana as part of a package through Costco that included Disney as the focus of our stay both the first time we stayed two years ago and also this latest trip (February 2014.) As before we found the rooms spacious and large enough for our family. I loved the fact that there were three bathroom sinks so no one had to fight or wait for a sink in the morning. The kids loved the Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom and would head there every morning before we left for the parks (it was a great motivator to get them out of bed early.)
Unfortunately we did have one bad experience during this stay: one night when we came back from Epcot our room had not been serviced -- trash hadn't been emptied, beds not made, no fresh towels, no cleaning, nothing. This was the one night it had rained and we got stuck in it before we managed to leave the park, so you can imagine how it felt to come back soaking wet to a messy/dirty room. I called Guest Services, and they apologized profusely but said they couldn't send anyone that night to clean it. They did send someone with plenty of fresh towels (although it took them about 45 minutes and a second phone call to bring the towels up.) We got a phone call later with another apology and a promise to receive the "VIP" cleaning service the next morning, although I have no idea what that meant. Our room DID get cleaned on time the next day, but it didn't look any different than the previous cleanings so I don't know what was so different about the "VIP" service.
The other major complaint I have (and this applies to both stays) is that it takes FOREVER to check out. Several people sit behind the desks in the lobby, but some of them are assigned either the "Vacation Services" desk or the "Tickets and Transportation" desk. Those sitting behind these desks will not help check you out no matter how long the wait is. I understand they have a different job than those people working the checkout desk, but a helping hand would make a big difference in getting guests out on time.
Another note: if you stay here, be prepared to become inundated with sales pitches about the timeshares at the resort. They will try to use all sorts of ways to get you to listen -- resort vouchers, free photo sessions, wonderful breakfasts and more -- and if you're not in to all that, you'll have to find a way to be firm when you say no. Repeatedly.
Overall, however, this was a good stay. I would recommend the resort for its proximity to both Disney and International Drive. As I said before, the rooms are wonderfully spacious, and the short drive to the parks is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Amy1027 The service is wonderful
The resort was wonderful. The only drawback was a power outtage that caused us to have to lug our luggage up to the 5th floor. Due to construction there was a second power outtage later the same day, but the power was restored quickly. The staff was extremely accomodating and helped with several specific requests I had regarding faxes and scanning my daughter's algebra test into an email so she could send it to the teacher on time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RThens This hotel was very clean and we had plenty of room.
We enjoyed our stay very much. We would have loved to have had one of the newly renovated rooms, but the room that we did have was spacious, clean and bigger than we expected. The outside grounds were very well kept up and also clean. Our room had a leaking faucet in the kitchen and under the sink, but that wasn't an issue for our stay. I believe the building we were in will be renovated early 2014. Nice place for families and we would definately return.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mwd31 WILL NEVER RETURN
This will be lengthy, but I believe it will be worth your time to read and consider as I am a Starwood Member, and we have family that owns property in Hawaii and has been interested in purchasing additional property until our most recent experience at the Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort Villas, I-Drive, Orlando, Florida.
I recently made reservations at this property for two double room villas and two single bedroom villas for four nights for a party of sixteen people. We were arriving on December 31st and departing on January 4th. Half of our family flew into Orlando, while the other half flew into Tampa so our arrival times at the Villages was at different times.
The first of our family to arrive was my son and his family - his wife and his three very young children (ages 1, 4, and 7); also arriving was my other son and his wife and a daughter-in-law. They arrived early at the hotel at 2:00 P.M. and were told that check-in was not until 4:00 P.M. and that their rooms were "not ready - still needed to be cleaned." My son understood that the check-in time was later, but was inquiring in case they were able to get in early. The person at the desk at that time told my son that they would try and get their rooms available ASAP and that she would call him at the earliest time of availability. NOTE: At one point in the conversation, the receptionist asked my son, if it was "necessary to place all the rooms together?" My son explained "if that is possible, sure, but it is not 'necessary'." He and his family then placed their luggage into a storage area, and they went to the pool. He wrote his cell phone number on a card and gave it to the receptionist.
At 4:30 P.M., I and the other half of our family's flight arrived in Tampa. I contacted my son to let him know that our flight has just arrived. At this time, he informed me that he still had not been contacted about their room. He decided to go to the front desk and check on the rooms and they were STILL NOT AVAILABLE. The receptionist assured him that the housekeeping was working as quickly as possible.
At 6:30 P.M. my party arrived at the Sheraton Vistana Villages. While checking in, it seemed that the receptionist had a sudden recollection as she suddenly asked my husband "Do you know a #NAME WITHHELD?" My husband explained "Yes, that is my son." She explained "I need to contact him too - his rooms are ready." TWO AND ONE HALF HOURS LATER - "his rooms are ready." At that point she began looking around on her desk as if trying to find the card that OUR SON had left with his cell number recorded. In the meantime, I called my son and told him that his rooms were ready. The receptionist while looking for the phone number on the card could not find it.
Upon OUR SON'S arrival at the front desk, we said our "hello's" and as he waited for his keys, the rest of us went to our rooms to get unpacked. When we got to our rooms, NONE of the keys worked. If you are not familiar with the property, it is a bit of a distance between the rooms and the front desk. So, we DROVE back to the front desk and they checked the keys. At this time, I see that my son and his young family, is still waiting on a bell hop to retrieve their luggage from the storage area. I tell him that we will go back and get our bags into our rooms and then, come back and help him get his bags to his room with the children.
We venture to our rooms a second time, and the keys to my husband and my room still do not work. ONE key to the other double bedroom does work, but the other three do not. We drive back to the front desk and by this time I have had it. I ask to speak to a manager. I explain to her the situation that my son and his family have been placed in and that this is not acceptible for Starwood property. She explains that OUR SON did not get into his room because she was told that he wanted the rooms togeter. I told her that he expressed that it would be nice to have them together, but at no time did he expect them togeter. And...if that were the case, I asked her "Why is one room on the 3rd floor, two rooms on the 4th floor, and one room on the 5th floor?" She could not answer. I then told her that this is the second time that we have been over to the front desk because of nonfunctioning keys to MY room. She explains "I will get you into another room."
It is now 8:00 P.M. and my husband and I still do not have a room - it is New Year's Eve and we had all made plans to eat at a local restaurant. Due to the room issue, we have already missed our reservation and have to cancel. Instead, my husband stays to try and get the room situation resolved while I taxi another son and his family back from downtown Orlando.
When I arrive back at the hotel at 9:00 P.M. my husband is in my son's room - he explains "They put us in another room on the 5th floor and when we went to take the luggage up there, the smell of smoke was so bad, it started to burn my eyes - they are now trying to fix the lock on the original room that they had us in on the 3rd floor."
At 9:30 P.M. my husband and I got into our room on New Year's Eve!!
But the story does not end there. We set our alarms for the next morning, as we have a shuttle that is picking us up for the Capitol One Bowl game. When I awake to go to the shower, there is not a SINGLE towel in the bathroom. We search the closets, the kitchen, the cupboards, and I cannot find a towel or even a washcloth. I pick up the phone and dial the front desk and request towels. The woman replies "We will have them there for you right away." TWENTY MINUTES PASS and still we have not towels. At this point, I am angry and I go outside my room to look for towels. I meet the nice maid who explains "We have no towels - the truck has not come in yet." This is at 10:00 A.M. I go to the telephone, I call the front desk, and I say "I had to cancel my New Year's Eve plans because of the this place, I AM NOT canceling my New Year's Day Plans because I have no towels - I don't care if you have to go to the pool to get towels - I want them in five minutes!" Our shuttle was coming at 10:30! We got our towels in less than five minutes.
During the wait, I find the number on the bedside stand for the general manager of the property. I call the number, and I get a recording that he is unavailable. I leave my name, my room number, the length of my stay, and that I would like to visit with him. Not long after the phone call, I get a return phone call to my room from the general housekeeping manager, "NAME WITHHELD", asking if he can be of assistance. I thanked HIM for the return call and his concern but reassured him that my concerns were much bigger than "housekeeping issues." He was kind and explained that the general manager was out-of-the-office "until tomorrow." I explained to him that "I will be in town for the rest of the week" and that I would like for him to leave my contact information with the general manager. He assured me that he would and wished me a nice stay. This phone call took place on January 1st. Again - I was departing on January 4th.
In the meantime, my other son, who owns Starwood property in Hawaii has already received his second phone call IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS about a meeting from a Starwoods representative on property management - the second phone call coming after he expressed the evening of arrival in the first phone call that he had NO DESIRE to invest in ownership at this property considering the extreme difficulties that we experienced upon check-in. They would receive a THIRD phone call of the same nature the next day harrassing them about Starwood points!
Finally, on the evening before we depart #TWO FULL DAYS# after the general manager is supposedly returning, I get a voice message from the general manager on my room phone while we are at dinner #5:00 P.M.#, explaining that he is returning my call. When I try to contact him later, there is no answer and I do not leave a message as we are departing at 4:30 A.M. the next morning.
Needless to say, we will NEVER return to this property and I am so very disappointed that this is Starwood affiliated. I am not looking for a handout, but take great steps to find the best accommodations for our family when we travel, as we travel great distances with our whole family #of all ages - we took my parents also who are in their 70's# together. This whole experience really put a damper on our trip, and I do NOT want to go through this ever again. I have lost total faith in the Starwood chains, and now, unfortunately will proceed with great caution. My hope is that you will contact the property to make sure that this does not happen again to any families in the future.
I was most disappointed that there seemed to be so little communication and lack of follow-up or desire to accommodate the customer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dan4597 Nice hotel but poor service
Good: The room we stayed at was recently renovated, and looked to be in excellent condition. Beds were comfortable and living quarters were all very nice and upscale.
Bad: Customer service was poor to awful. We were not able to get to our room until after 5:30, even though we were there at 1:30pm. No phone calls, even though they had our number, and we had to go back in line to get our room because they said they "were busy" so they couldn't call us. When we got our room keys, the power was out, so no elevator (6th floor) service; the bellman was very polite and brought our luggage up all the stairs. They were the best part of the service but the front desk was awful and the check in procedure not efficient. No apologies or even excuses were offered, they almost seemed irritated at us and everyone else waiting in line. Not good for a SPG property and lifetime Gold guest.

We stayed at the Sheraton Villas one night. The villa was large and spacious with a large sitting area, fully equipped kitchen and a dining table that could accommodate 6. There was an enclosed porch that was comfortable. I opened the windows and kept them open during our stay due to the overwhelming smell of bleach. I highly recommend that this facility investigate and use other chemicals to clean the Villas. The onsite restaurant is adequate.

We are a family of 6 that drove from MN to FL. We wound up driving straight through putting us in FL a day early. Not even thinking that this put us at the hotel early for our reservation. They went out of their way to ensure that they could get us in, in the same villa so we wouldn't have to move again, and the same rate. Wow! Then, being a family of 6 we are used to being cramped in a room. We were thrilled to find ourselves in a space that made us all feel welcomed. Clean, everything we needed right down to washer/dryer in the room. Not only my favorite of all the vacations, but the kids as well! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by thefredman everything was great except..(please read whole post)
We truly enjoyed our stay at the resort.
before booking i looked at the other reviews on this site and would like to write a rebuttal to a few of them:
1. customer service was excellent, from our checking in at mid night Daisy made us feel very comfortable with answering all of our various questions. to the easy express over the phone check out.
2. it may take you a few minute walk to get to the main desk from your villa that is only because they have a huge beautiful grounds full with plenty of activity's including but not limited to three pools two arcade rooms a sand volley ball court basketball court....(equipment is provided free of charge)
3. if you request something to be brought to your villa ex. soup or shampoo it may take a while this is only because it is a huge resort and other people may be requesting things at the same time.
4. very worth while if your going to be on vacation for a few days as they provide a full size fridge, convection oven, stove dish washer, plenty of nice dishes to use a washer and drier.....
my only "except" as i mentioned in the title was that we were told that if we attend a lecture about time shares and how to maximize usage of credit card points we will receive a complimentary x,xxx points
we were clearly told this will take UP TO 90 MINUTES.
me and my wife figured that the last day we are at the hotel we will attend because if it is only up to 90 minutes we should have plenty of time to get to the air port for our flight.
the lecture ended up taking OVER TWO HOURS!! after the lecturer finished, made us an offer which we denied her manager then came and tried to make us another offer after that someone else made me another offer...... all it was, was a sales pitch for time share which we personally were not interested in, we would have gained more in understanding how to maximize our cc points. we ended up JUST MAKING OUR FLIGHT back home that day, we could have bean stuck in the airport for over five hours (besides for a speeding ticket for trying to make it to the airport on time for the flight). For the above aggravation i would appreciate if the resort would be able to offer me some more points (and keep to what they say that it will be UP TO 90 MINUTES.)
thank you for your time of reading my post [which should have taken about 90 seconds to read]

When first checking into the hotel I was offered a free gift. When I went over to see what it was (toothpaste and brochures), I found out that it was to actually to try and get me to come to a time share presentation. Sure they offered some dicsounts on local attraction tickets if I went, but I couldnt come alone, my whole family had to attend or I couldnt get the discounts. Felt pressured and after I said no the staff sales guy / manager wanted nothing to do with me.
Watch out for time share nonsense at what would be a very nice hotel.

As a lifetime PLATNIMUM member of SPG I was extremely concerned when I read the reviews the day I was due to arrive. I am thrilled that I did not cancel my reservation.
I was on a business trip for one week and felt like I was in my own apartment with all of the amenities ... Down to dishes, washing machine, dryer coffee maker and toaster. We took the car and did a weekly shopping to fill the refrigerator .
The hotel is clean, the pool with the waterfall is great, the gym small but overall this is an excellent hotel.
No charge for parking and security at this hotel is top notch.
Anything you want or need was just a phone call away. The hotel Manager Angel is a Five Star in my book and David The security guard wonderful. Then there is Chris and Maurice who also were wonderful.
So would I recommend the Sheraton Vistana for sure.
Some great restaurants near by Charley's for the best steak, Moonfish for SUshi and seafood and Tommy Bahama's for the best Tuna Tacos.
Have a great Vacation!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mass123 Nice resort, poorly managed
The resort is nice. What you would expect from a Starwood property. The management is the caution.
If you have a problem you will not get any customer service. Management is inerested in one thing, selling units. Our family had to move from a two bedroom unit because of a mix up and the only unit avaiable was a one bedroom. Then they tell us we have to vacate the room by 10:00 and can't get into the new room until 4:00.
I was dealing with the weekend Acting Manager and he hardlined us. No compassion that our food would spoil or the fact the we were without a room for 6 hours during 4 night stay.

We are owners at another Sheraton property and wanted to compare this resort to our home resort.
It was very nice and clean! The maintenance and cleaning staff was visible working on the property every morning by 7:30 am. Our resort does not always get the same attention in mainentance and daily cleaning.
We stayed in an one bedroom unit which we would normally stay in a two bedroom. The comparison in size help us to decide we would not choose one bedroom unit for a week.
Overall, Sheraton has great properties but they are limited in some locations for travelers that are commuting by vehicle.

First of all, not a place to stay for business. No late check-out available and have to be out by 1000am. That is, if you can avoid the knocking on the door to pack and leave.
The place is old and you have to be given the timeshare pitch, though I do not know who would own a place at this location. Old and in need of upgrade.
Let's talk about the one restaurant/grill? Enough said.
Should not be associated with Starwood properties.

Missing some of the common SVN amenities upon arrival. Housekeeping failed to replace comp coffee and coffee condiments during our two week stay. Washer malfunctioned causing hot water wash when set to cold/cold resulting in color running in some cloths. Corrosion in pipes was bad enough to cause brown water to flow for the better part of a day. The best part of the stay was the extraordinary effort of Lori during our owner update. She helped resolve a problem with another property that had plagued us for a number of months...thanks again Lori. However, even her outstanding service could not convince us to return to this SVN property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by crazyboy Awesome except for a couple of things
Received a room upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite. Very, very nice and very upscale. Staff was excellent.
Now for the opportunities, or least some aspects of the stay you should be aware of:
1) This is a resort, so you will check in and then drive to the building in which your room is located. No big deal, except that I was put into a handicapped accessible room. I had to drive back to the main building to change my room.
2) The bed was NOT a typical Sheraton "heavenly bed". Rather than being extremely soft, it was very hard. Kind of a surprise for a Sheraton.
3) There is no restaurant at the resort similar to a typical full service restaurant at normal Sheratons. Since apparently all rooms have kitchens at this resort, the only restaurants were pool side types of little shacks with very limited food offerings and beer served in plastic cups.
Next time would probably stay away from the resorts and just pick a Sheraton property that business people stay at.
