Another excellent stay. The hotel suits my us very well. It provides quiet privacy in a fabulous location with outstanding service and, this year, a significantly enhanced food menu.
The rooms are not quite 'state of the art' but we do not mind that. They are beautifully maintained and serve our needs well.
But the biggest plus is the excellent staff. Always outstanding.
Obviously all this comes at a full price but, to us, it is justified.

My wife and I typically stay at very good hotels so we don’t get impressed easily, but Cala di Volpe impressed us immensely. In fact, the more spoiled you are the more you will appreciate this arguably best resort on the Sardinian Emerald Coast.
They will save you the hoopla over using fresh, natural food, but bite their strawberry and you will suddenly remember your childhood. All the marvelous dishes we tasted were served exactly the way I like it: short on an attempt to create an extravagant work of art (like in some Michelin rated but not particularly inspiring restaurants), but long on taste. It was truly delicious. Even meat tastes meatier there.
This place has become a quiet recluse for those-who-know from around the world. I’ve seen an elegant couple from Brazil, geeky looking young Chinese executive with his wife, surprisingly quiet Russian couple plus the usual assortment of well healed French and Germans. During our stay a well-known Romanian anchorwoman had her wedding here. So the resort was full of gorgeous and smart looking young people.
After Cala di Vope we spent a few days at one of the best known hotels in Rome. Suddenly, the bed was not as comfortable, towels – not as fluffy and even the service not as intuitive.
I read complains of how pricey Cala di Volpe is and I finally understood why it is so expensive – because it’s worth it!

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Barbeque restaurant this mid-July-2013. Under a canopy and with water and pool in background, 4-5 waiters in white jackets serve with care and precision your table, plus the sommelier and maitre'd also contribute greatly to make this a lively theatre show. Many large dinner parties are at nearby tables from entourages at hotel or from mega yachts. Lifestyles of the beautiful and tan. Live music plays at poolside. A grand sumptuous continental buffet including Italian delicacies and the freshest most ripe salads and fruits await. Sardinian sun and soil grow the best ingredients. Taste the fire in the arugula. A la carte is also possible to include with buffet. Most interesting is the many prime meats and fish available to prepare bespoke and the chefs love to showcase their culinary skills and foods. I pre-ordered some surf and turf, small tapas of 4-5 selections, including spit roasted suckling pig. Incredibly crispy, juicy and delicious. After the buffet course, the main course is finished at your tableside. Another waiter decants our wine. A rare treat to see the top waiters at their artistic craft. Finally, many excellent Italian desserts, some rarely seen designs and recipes, plus gelato, are available at buffet room tables. No limits on choices. What a fantastic night.
In the Porto Cervo area, the best disco (open air, 2000 people) is in Forte Capellini on seafront near Baia Sardinia, 10 minutes drive from Porto Cervo town, 15 min from Cala Volpe.
Around 400-500 euros for 2 with cocktails and wine.
