we stayed 5 nights at this hotel, staff is friendly. on the third day the cleaning lady came to clean the room at 10:30am and we asked for another 1/2 hour so we can get our stuff and leave for a day trip. we came back at 9:00 p.m and the room was not done at all!!!! we called customer service for some coffee, cups, sugar etc.... and they brought them to us, did apologize, but no points or credit was offered. that was not perceptible!

We had the Mothers Day banquet which was a little pricey for the choices, but the food was good. The pool kept closing around 4 pm for the night due to children making diaper messes in the pool. We asked for a taxi one evening to go out to eat. We were arranged with an older model taxi which was cool, but it cost 50.00 round trip (for a 15 minute round trip), which was very UNCOOL. The concierge should not have arranged that.

Beautiful view of the gulf. Balconies are small but it is wonderful that there is no smoking on the balconies.
Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Sent a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday.
Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable.

This hotel has a great pool and beach access. The staff are willing to help you from the moment you check in. Many great restaurants on-site or close by. The pool, gym, and common areas were always clean

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisenchantedSPGGuest Not a SPG level 4 Hotel!!
Pool was very small and grounds were not kept up at all. Had to step over trash and food to get into pool. Club lounge was not adequately stocked. If you were not at breakfast at 7:00 you did not get any food. Who goes on vacation to get up and eat at 7am? No dedicated concierge on staff. Very long walk to the beach which is not private. Beach is however a ripoff as you have to pay $75 per day for chairs and an umbrella.

I was thoroughly pleased with my stay. Attention to detail is very obvious. I've stayed at other hotel for conventions, but this was THE BEST. The food and service was THE BEST that I've had at a hotel. I was quite, pleasantly surprised. Keep on doing what your doing!

The hotel was great. Everyone (all 24 of us) had a great time. We had reserved a block of rooms, but we were scattered all over the hotel. It would have been nice to have been put on the same floor at least, but with 10 separate room requests maybe that's not as easy as it sounds. Food at the restaurant was a little pricey but you didn't have to fight/pay for parking or spend any gas to get there. Wonderful staff! Thank you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brandon74 Cheap Resort
This is not a hotel worthy of a second stay. To start with the bathrooms had mold on the ceiling, no mini fridge and wi-fi is available at $9.95 a day. This I found to be amazing as the cheapest hotels offer free wi-fi. The pool is very small. The food in the bar and grill is terrible!!! The beach is very close (5 min) walk...other than that nothing at this hotel says resort.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rjp3 Way Overpriced for average accommodations
This place is basically just a wedding factory. Everything was fine for the most part but not exceptional. My biggest gripe is the fact that I had to pay $10 for one day of wireless Internet access in my room in addition to what I thought was already a very overpriced, small room. In contrast, most of the staff, especially the front desk, were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel, but not enthusiastically.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disapointedplatinum I was ripped off
I had reserved a room on the club level with a view of the beach. When I checked in I got a room on the 5th floor (not club level) that technically faced the beach but whose view was halfway restricted by a wall and was very dark. I had to complain in order to get the room I actually ordered. The room was decent sized but had a tiny bathroom. Room cleanliness and daily cleaning was below average. Additionally, I was charged almost double the rate that I had reserved on spg.com (my fault for not double checking at check-in). The hotel, likes to sell access to the club level so the club lounge was always packed and kept running out of food, breakfast was utter chaos. The hotel restaurant (Rusty's) was decent but for some reason the staff kept trying to seat me by the door, kitchen or waiter station. The pool is nice but much smaller than it appears in the pictures.

For a hotel of this size, the pool is to small. The pool was extremely over crowded. In addition, the hotel has two restuarants... one of them is called the island grill... instead of looking at the ocean front view... it looks at the parking lot. The other restuarant and bar have no windows. Lastly... there was partying and loudness until 3 AM in the pool area during my stay... I would not recommend this hotel.

Attended the USF Social Marketing Conference June 12 - 16th and I commend the staff of the hotel for their excellent customer service. Everyone from the bellman, front desk, housekeeping, recreation, Rusty's, conference staff, were attentive, friendly and considerate.
The hotel setting is amazing as well as the amenities. Gorgeous sunsets! I have recommended this hotel to several people since my return to the office!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Zaire06 customer service
this hotel would be a great stay but as we all know its the customer that sets the tone for whether a hotel will be poised for a second stay. The woman at the desk was extremely rude. I am a federal agent and our agency uses Sheraton frequently. I will inform our advance travel team NOT to use the Sheraton in Clearwater, Florida on Gulf Blvd and to review whether we will use any Sheraton ever again.

I expected more from a sheraton. The food wasn't that good and over priced. The lunch spot looked like a cafeteria and wasnt very good. The restaurant was over priced and not the best. We paid for the club lounge, thinking we'd have snacks and drinks available all day, nope! It was 7-10 and 5-7--a waste of money! !!The staff was nice and the rooms were clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Earlton2013 Great location, excellent customer service
Good value; however, free access to the internet in the designated area was terrible. Had to pay for decent internet connection. Restaurant food was very good. Breakfast definitely overpriced. We didn't want the b'fast buffet at $30/couple, so ordered 2 orders of eggs, 1 order of bacon, toast and 2 coffees: the price was $27! There's a Dunkin Donuts and good diner across the street that's a much better deal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GuestAug2012 Elegant but Not...
I was dazzled when I arrived at the hotel with the stylish lobby, restaurant and guest services personnel. As I made my way to my room, the temperature and smell became uncomfortable. The bed was noisy and too firm, floor plan is poorly designed, limited space in the bathroom area and the overall guest room experience was quite distasteful. I was assigned to a “waterfront” room that only had about a 1% view of the water over the top of trees. Due to limited availability, I moved to a different room that was even more undesirable. There was an overwhelming smell that seemed entrenched throughout the room. Hotel staff was unable to rid the stench and refused to refund my pre-payment so that I may stay somewhere else. I typically relax in my room after a day on the beach, but not on this vacation. By far the most disappointing Sheraton stay of my many visits around the Southeast.

The staff at the Sand Key Sheraton are amazing. Everyone I encountered during my stay were very helpful and always had a smile for me. if you are looking for a relaxing place to bring the entire family, this is it. Very kid friendly with easy access to local nightlife. i suggest that you do not miss the prime rib in Rustys located inside the resort. Top notch food and service.

This was our first time to Clearwater Beach. The hotel was perfectly situated with a quiet park on one side and a short drive from the action by Pier 60. There were mostly families with small children and no crazy college kids. The entire staff was wonderful. Everyone always had a smile and was very friendly. One woman working in the gift shop heard we were going to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and went and got us discount coupons that she brings from home for guests. The pool was adequatly sized and heated. There were plenty of things to do on the beach, volleyball, sand toys and games. It is quite a walk to the beach but they have cabana rentals and food/beverage service out there. We ate at all of the restaurants and had excellent service and food - all reasonably priced too. Beds were extremely comfortable. Only complaint is the size of the toilet/shower area. We will be back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by YesSIr12354 Unhappy for 2 reasons
Unhappy we didnt recieve breakfast vouchers as spg memebers like our friends who stayed the same weekend. Also, when there is a wedding booked I think reservations needs to alert customers who are requesting first floor pool side rooms especially when they pay extra. My toddler did not sleep until the wedding was over. Made for a very cranky kid and cranky parents who could not enjoy there last day.

I was given about the worst view a hotel room anywhere can have. My room (#313)faced a wall and an airconditioning farm above the conference center. I am surprised they even rent this room to anyone - it is that bad. Pretty horrible considering my group held a conference at this beachfront hotel for a leisurely feeling and instead i got an industrial view. I dont care to ever stay at this place again

We have stayed at the Sand Key Resort before and had a wonderful time. This visit was no exception. Our only complaint is the noise level experienced outside our room. It is probably a function of stayin on the first floor, but you may want to consider installing soundproof doors and an additional set of double doors in the corridors that lead to rooms. Otherwise the staff was excellent as always.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KP81 Amazing experience!
Checked in was awesome- forgot his name but he had a British accent. He was very accommodating by changing our rooms for us b/c we wanted two queens instead of a king. We've had issues with the coffee maker and the TV and your staff came right away. I was quite impressed with that. We went to rustys for breakfast- the food was okay. The service was slow. It was an older gentleman. It's okay though. The only thing I didnt like is the fact that there wasn't any wifi in the room. You would think that paying about 170 a night there would be wifi included in the room. You guys should add wifi in the rooms if you're going to charge us that much for the stay. The bartender at the pool bar- girl with the tattoo on her arm- was very informative. We asked about sushi restaurant and she nailed it on that one. To add along- your "seafood" buffet is not seafood, maybe add clams, lobster and oysters?? Just a suggestion. :) all in all- we had an amazing time and we will be back.

The convenient store stayed open for 24 hours, and was so handy. The hotel employees were very freindly and always had a smile. The manager (I believe) was always walking around the restaurants and in view to make sure everything was ok, and of course always with a smile. The rooms were very confortable and clean, I was by myself (a woman) and felt very safe. Would defentely recommend this hotel.
