Rated 3 out of 5 by Fine Facility The room was comfortable and everything seemed to be in good working order and clean. The staff was friendly enough, and responsive. However, the concierge service didn't do much more than pull out a couple of minor photocopies of restaurants and activities. With one pool, the area was very crowded. There is a long walk to the water on the beach, and be sure to bring your umbrella and chair, because there is a $25/day fee for what they provide. The water was wonderful and it was a nice beach once you made your way there. Really a hotel feel moreso than resort feel. July 23, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Another great experience at Sheraton Sand Key We’ve enjoyed the Sheraton Sand Key for 6 spring breaks. The staff is fantastic. Special kudos to Jerry at the front desk and Grant at the pool. From the minute we checked in, we felt welcomed back, like a member of their family. Back in 2008, it was Jerry that made our first experience at Sand Key enjoyable, since then, he’s a big reason we’ve been back every year since. And Grant is a favorite for all ages around the pool. Our daughter Bridget (6), always looks forward to the games and fun that Grant provides. Great job by everyone throughout the hotel. For anyone who has been to the Sheraton Sand Key, you’ll know how we feel. For those who have not been there, it’s worth entrusting these great people for your next visit to Clearwater. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great place for a conference! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. I visited for a conference and the hotel was perfect for the event. The staff was super helpful allowing for early check-in and late check-out. There was daily yoga and a nice gym on-site. My only wish list items would have been an in-room microwave and a larger bathroom. September 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice place to stay in a beautiful location Almost everything was excellent, especially dinner at Rusty's. The only thing I would change is that the bathroom was hardly large enough to turn around in. September 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by sheraton sand key/ clearwater beach This hotel was built in early 1970's when I attended college in Clearwater. It is nice, but bathrooms are small and it is a LONG walk to the beach! (About the length of 3 football fields. The pool is SMALL for the number of rooms. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay, but not worth 10,000 points a night.....maybe 7000 at best. wifi never would work in my room August 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Most unaccommodating hotel I've ever stayed at. How this hotel has stayed in business is beyond me. It is the worst hotel I've ever been in. From not having my room ready until I twisted there arm to get me a room by 4:30 pm an hour when they had guaranteed my room by 3 pm. To their ineffectiveness at getting my room clean (I found potato chips under my bed). To the turtle pace of their wi-fi internet (took me 2 hours to print out a document I needed for my conference). To their silver light (the machine that makes your room key) stopped working. To their lack of accommodating me for their actions. It was horrible!! The only silver lining was the fact that I only had to stay one night. July 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Family friendly Our stay was made comfortable by all the people we came in contact with. They were more than accommodating and very professional. The setting is very pleasant and the concierge floor and staff could not have been better. We would gladly stay here again if we come back to the Clearwater Area. September 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I was looking for in a hotel I enjoyed celebrating my 40th bday with close girlfriends at this hotel. We were pleased with the pool and beach, happy with the location when we ventured out and can't say enough about the staff - they were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The food was good but not great. All and all, I'm so happy I chose to stay there and I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for their getaway. September 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Hotel Staff was Phenomenal Big Kudos to the staff from front desk all the way to the top at the fitness center at Sheraton Key Resorts they greet you daily by first name with genuine respect! Along with 2 exceptional members of your team Jerry the trivia man and Jane of the peace corps! They made made my stay away from home better than being home! They knew exactly what I needed before I even asked and they always made my long day from work pleasurable! This will be my first hotel of choice when I am in this area! November 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Spot in Clearwater The location of the Sheraton Key Sand Resort was ideal. Use of public transportation made going to nearby sites hassle free-don't attempt to park and drive! The staff of the hotel is what made the visit welcoming - their attitude and friendly service was exceptional. I would tell readers that this visit was by far one of my best getaway locations...the views from the balcony on pool side allowed us to see the beach every day! Great place to relax by the beach and go out in evening for a local bite and walk the Pier 60. Short 2 hour drive to Magic Kingdom! Beach and Disney all in a few days. A must stop for your personal bucket list! August 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gulf View Room We reserved a Gulf View Room, but we received a room where we had to go out to the balcony to see the Gulf. I contacted our vacation planner and the next day, they contacted Carol in Guest Services. Carol has been with Sheraton for many years and knows how to provide "Excellent Customer Service." Carol provided us with a different room which met our expectations. Don't settle for something "standard" when you know you've paid for an "upgraded" room. Thank you, Carol! March 5, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Front Desk Staff Very Rude The property is very nice, although the rooms are very small and outdated. The worst part of any visit to this property is the rudeness of the front desk staff...they are very unfriendly, not willing to assist or answer questions and are ALWAYS condescending. Once you get past the check-in process, the rest of your stay will be fantastic. I have stayed here over 10 times and it is ALWAYS the same scenario. May 31, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than we expected! My sisters and I had a great time during our stay. The beach was way bigger and nicer than we expected. Everyone was very friendly. We made good use of the Jolly Trolley for getting us around. The weather was our only concern but you have no control over that. It was way nicer in Florida than in South Dakota. We left for Florida the day the Polar Vortex arrived in SD. Thank you for a relaxing trip! January 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great staff, very nice hotel The staff and hotel are both extremely nice. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable! The pool was a little overcrowded with kids, would have liked to see a time that adults could have been allowed some time in the pool without younger children. The pool bar is great, but it closes early in the evening, Later hours would be great, and surely bring in many of those who would like to sit outside and enjoy the evening. Great views of the gulf! Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Place to Book a Hotel @ Clearwater! [The day @ Check in] -Fast / Courteous / Accommodating -Billing was explained [The Facilities] -Pool Wonderful looking -Beach Gorgeous -The Breakfast Buffet, Supurb -The Room it was little dark (Recommend a little more lighting hooked up to the main switch when you first enter the room) [Overall] I was very pleased with everything and enjoyed my stay. I would most def. come back! May 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Trip to Clearwater Beach Kudos to Jeanne who welcomed my wife and I. She was able to check us in early, provide a nice upgrade because of our platinum status. The room was very large with views of the tennis courts and waterway to the gulf. Nice seating area, common areas were very nice. Staff was attentive. We loved the location and the size of the resort. December 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Undoubtedly the best part of the hotel was Peggy (with the beautiful blue eyes) who worked in the spg club lounge. She was a wealth of information, and very helpful getting around Florida's gulf coast, For a resort hotel I expected more. One night was enough. September 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeded our expectations! We loved everything about our stay at Sheraton Sand Key! The beach and view from our room were both spectacular! We loved that there were no resort or parking fees, too! We only paid for the additional services we would use. For example, chairs and umbrella on the beach, but not internet access in our room. This was very fair! Our room had been remodeled and was very clean and nice. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. Service (from cleaning crew, bartenders, front desk workers, night security guard, waitress at breakfast, to the woman in the gift shop) was terrific! Everyone was courteous and friendly throughout our stay! We highly recommend this location! August 9, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Crowded and noisy and unresponsive help My wife and I booked a stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort under unfortunate circumstances. We needed a place to stay as we were tending to the death of my 92 year old mother who passed away unexpectedly in early June. As Starwood preferred guest members we decided to remain loyal to the Starwood brand even in this time of great uncertainty. As the quickest flight we could arrange from NY to Fla was into Orlando, we made the track down to Clearwater under duress and fatigue. As we entered the lobb tired, hungry and in a state of mourning, we made a simple request for a club level room in order to be slightly removed from the convention that was taking place. This request was denied. Which would have allowed us much needed tranquility and peace. As we tended to the affairs, we thought we would be able to enjoy a few moments of peace. Unfortunately, the hotel was overrun by the members of the convention as well as their family and friends. This culminated with being woken up pre dawn by rambunctious guests acting inappropriately on their balcony. The same guests directed profanities at my spouse as calls to the front desk provided little relief. We were further shocked and horrified when we were casually told by the female at the front desk that it was members of the owners family who had been causing the commotion. We are deeply saddened that no one ever contact Cited us and explained the issue regarding the noise and profanity. It was just swept under the carpet. It is unfortunate that the Starwood brand having us as advocates for others to become patrons, we instead have a bad taste in our mouth. This text of treatment of its members is unacceptable. Rated 5 out of 5 by Clean, Comfortable and Convenient We stayed here only briefly knowing nothing of the property or Sand Key and found this hotel to be quite nice. Loved the pool and beach area. Room was clean the staff was pleasant... will come back, soon I hope. December 29, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unresponsive Front Desk Staff Great location and facility. The Front Desk staff didn't measure up. Check in was too long because the keying process wasn't working. The clerk insisted I use a credit card to hold for deposit/damage instead of the debit card I wanted to use and with which I made my reservation. And couldn't tell me why. He said I could have the same room if I extended my stay and that turned out to be a problem. I went to my room and the keys had been turned off so needed rekeying. I asked them to send someone up with new keys. They wouldn't. After an exhausting day of sight seeing we had to drag ourselves down to the desk to receive new keys. Besides they were rude. Next time I'm afraid I'd stay across the street. May 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Friendliest staff anywhere and amazing beach! I loved this resort! Before I gush about it, let me start with my one small disappointment...the pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. It is still a great pool, but a little small for the number of guests at the resort. Okay, now for all of the wonderful things... First, I can't say enough about the staff. They were not just friendly, but astoundingly friendly. I never once walked by a staff member without receiving a very friendly greeting, and whenever I rode the elevator, ate at the restaurant, or otherwise interacted with a staff member, they always made a point to engage me in conversation. I only ate at the casual restaurant for lunch one day. It was good. The food at the pool grill is fine. Just pizza, hot dogs, chicken fingers, salads. Nothing special, but fine for sitting by the pool. The pool bar is nice and they have good service. The private beach is fantastic. It is soooooo nice to have a private beach. It is so much less crowded than the public beach and it's the only beach in the area where alcoholic beverages are allowed (at least that is what I heard staff member tell another guest). Rated 3 out of 5 by bad visit due to a leak the hotel water was shut down in the middle of the day. I arrived back at my room to take a shower for my meeting and ( no water) .. not a good thing. The hotel made no effort to make it up to the guests ... July 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay before returning to TPA We chose to stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort after spending 10 days along the Gulf Coast because of it's proximity to the Tampa International Airport yet still being along the beach. Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and wonderful 'spread' at happy hour that comes with the club room rate. The gym offered a wide range of machines and workout options. Although we didn't eat at one of the restaurants on the property, it was nice to have those options for guests who didn't wish to leave the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were both very nice with a pool bar and music on Sunday afternoon. The travel time to TPA was about 40 minutes. It was an wonderful stay. May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great beach access Absolutely fabulous! We stayed a week and remained on property most of the time. The staff was so friendly and helpful. April 28, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by OK Hotel but needs renovation Spent 2 days there in a standard Tennis court view room. The size of the room was ok but the quality was not so good as expected. It seems that the hotel is old. I did not go in the pool since there were to many people in there also the smell of chlorine was quite high. The location is ok but there is nothing to do around. You are better off in clearwater beach. The beach was very dirty and the costs for the umbrella and chairs are 15 dollars and are not included in the room charge. The food was nothing amazing. fries and burgers healthy choices are limited August 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Relaxing Stay * Great getaway ~ * The pressure washer senior citizen man needs an attitude adjustment. Very rude and pointing us in another direction as if we are bothering him while he's cleaning the deck and we along with others were either trying to get to the beach or finding a chair away from where he was working. He had done this twice and therefore warrants upper management to chat with him about proper etiquette when quests are present. * Rooms are nice but has thin walls ~ noisy guests late at night (1AM and on). * Front desk and concierge great ~ * Pool food service should be opened later than currently is especially during the summer hours and weekends (you can make more money) full house hotel stay July 29, 2013
