August 4, 2003 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today the completion of its first clean, reliable fuel cell energy system at the Sheraton Edison Hotel Raritan Center. By utilizing fuel cell energy, the hotel will reduce its overall energy costs, improve efficiency, and help conserve natural resources.

March 4, 2004 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. paid $40 million to purchase the 413-room Sheraton Kauai Resort, Poipu Beach, Kauai, Hawaii. Starwood managed the Sheraton Kauai under its Sheraton brand for Obayashi Corporation, the former owner of the property.

April 7, 2004 - With a simple swipe of a credit card, guests can bypass the front desk and check-in or out in less than 60 seconds with new Sheraton Speed Check self-service kiosks. Check-in kiosks will roll out over the next several months in more than 24 U.S. hotels and ultimately nationwide.

Starwood has been selected by the Puerto Rico Convention Center District Authority to operate the new 500-room hotel. November 26, 2002 - Three distinct areas of the prestigious Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort on Grand Bahama Island, one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean will now be operated under the Westin and Sheraton names. December 17, 2001 - Starwood announced that it will assume management and marketing of the 62-unit Molokai Ranch & Lodge, bringing its inventory to 14 resort properties on six Hawaiian Islands. Effective February 2002, the property will be re-named the Sheraton Molokai Lodge & Beach Village.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Hunan Yunda Real Estate development Co. Ltd. have announced an agreement for Starwood to manage the 327-room Sheraton Changsha Hotel in China. This newly built hotel is scheduled to open in July, 2007.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today that it has completed the sale of the 376-room Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Towers in Lisbon, Portugal to Sociedade de Construcoes Marope SA. In addition, Starwood and its joint venture partner Hines have sold the 432-room Westin Galleria in Dallas, Texas to Galleria Investors, a fund advised by UBS Realty Investors LLC.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today that it has completed the sale of the Sheraton Denver Tech Center Hotel to Clinton Street Investments, LLC an affiliate of The Hotel Group Opportunity Fund II, LLC based in Edmonds, Washington for $11.5 million. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today the completion of the sale of the 250-room Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport, Fort Lauderdale, FL to HEI Hospitality for $31.95 Million. HEI plans to invest in a complete renovation of the hotel over the next two years and will begin with the meeting space and public areas.

February 10, 2004 - The Radisson Hotel South and Plaza Tower in Bloomington, Minnesota will be reflagged as the Sheraton Bloomington and will undergo a $10.5 million renovation when the conversion takes place in March 2004. This new hotel will feature all of the brand's signature products and services including the new Sheraton Sweet SleeperSM Bed in all of its 565 guest rooms and suites.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Chongqing Taizheng Company Limited announced an agreement for Starwood to manage the Sheraton Chongqing Hotel in China. This newly built 330-room Sheraton Chongqing Hotel is scheduled to open in January 2008.

October 27, 2003 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc announced that the sale of the 296-room Sheraton North Charleston Hotel to Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina-based Main Street Hotel, LLC is complete. After undergoing a renovation, the hotel will continue to fly the Sheraton flag under a franchise agreement, and will be renamed the Sheraton Hotel North Charleston - Convention Center.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today that it has completed the sale of Chicago’s landmark Raphael Hotel to Miami-based developer Crescent Heights. The 172-room Raphael Hotel, one of Starwood’s non-branded assets, was sold for more than $21 million.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Shanghai You You Group Company, Limited have announced an agreement to have Starwood manage the Sheraton Shanghai Hotel & Residences, Pudong in China. Scheduled to open in mid-2008, the hotel and residences will be part of a multi-purpose complex that houses the hotel in one tower and serviced residences, offices and retail space in the other two towers.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Ilan Sky Line Entertainment Company have announced a franchise agreement to operate the first international resort, the Sheraton Yilan Resort, in Yilan County, Taiwan. The newly built 180-room Sheraton Yilan Resort is scheduled to open in June 2006.

April 4, 2002 - The Symphony Towers Hotel, recently re-flagged as the Sheraton Suites San Diego, will delight guests with added amenities and services promised by the Sheraton name and now found in this first-class hotel.

November 25, 2002 - A decision last week by the Supreme Court of the State of New York denied Starwood's former attorneys, LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae's motion to dismiss Starwood's complaint, allowing Starwood to proceed to discovery and trial in its malpractice suit against the law firm. This decision further validates the contention that the negative ruling against Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in the 1995 Woodley Road Case resulted from gross mishandling of Starwood's case by its former attorneys.
