Q: When and how did you come to Starwood?
The Senior Vice President of Sheraton Brand Operations Worldwide
interviewed me for about two hours and as it ended I stood up, shook his
hand and said “I don’t know if you’re going to hire me now, but someday you
will and I’m going to make you a lot of money. The rest is history….12 years
later….”
Q: What has been your progression through Starwood?
I’ve done a bit of everything: Event Service Manager, Director of
Outlets, Evening Hotel Manager, Director of Property Operations, Hotel Manager
Sheraton Manhattan, Hotel Manager Sheraton New York.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Starwood?
I feel like I’m in on the ground floor of something that will continue to
be mega successful. Starwood is setting the tone for the industry.
Q: How would you describe your job?
Being a hotel manager is like being a shepherd—Associate supporter, leader,
detail person, also a touch of Julie McCoy, Love Boat Cruise Director, and
financial hawk all mixed in!
Q: What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Accomplishing things day after day. The day to day comedy is a real
lift in keeping things fresh and forward-thinking, and the relationships,
living my true passion and having this be a part of my family life.
Everyone who knows me knows that I am Sheraton.
