Owned and operated by well-known Texas chef Matt Martinez Jr., Matt's Rancho Martinez is one of the best Tex-Mex spots in the metroplex. If you fail to reserve a table, you can count on a long wait as this place is packed from open to close. The laid-back style of this restaurant is typical for this Lakewood neighborhood, where the focus is on fine cuisine rather than appearances. Rancho Martinez has a great patio where you can dine and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Martinez is famous for The Bob Armstrong appetizer, a unique combination of cheese, guacamole and ground beef. For an entree try the flautas, chile rellenos or Matt's own Mexican version of chicken-fried steak.
