At the intersection of the Min and Jinsha rivers, Yibin is a prefecture-level city in China’s Sichuan Province. Be sure to see the centuries-old Daguan Tower in the heart of town. Take in panoramic city views from the top of Cuiping Mountain. Peruse Yibin’s three pagodas—the 1,000-year-old Jiuzhou Pagoda, the 8-story White Pagoda, and the Black Pagoda. Roam around the gardens and explore more than 100 traditional Chinese-style buildings at XiJia Villa in Jiang’an County. Walk along the narrow stone-paved streets to see the buildings at Longhua. Built during the Song Dynasty, it is a wonderful place in which to experience the China of yesteryear. The historic Li Town (LiZhuang) and the Residence of Mt. Xiia are also worth visiting.

Enjoy an energizing soak in one of several nearby hot springs. Connect with Yibin’s wonderful natural landscapes, starting with Shunan Zhuhai National Park in Changning County. Also known as the Bamboo Sea for its forests, this picturesque area is also home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls, caves, and temples. Wander around to see the astonishing stalactite caves in Xingwen County’s Stone Forest. Filled with beautiful scenery, Shicheng Mountain showcases sweeping views, lakes, waterfalls, forests, and ancient tombs.

Shop for unique traditional handicrafts, including bamboo, paper, silk and leather items, locally grown tea, and pickles. Savor delicious, spicy Sichuan cuisine and local dishes like fire noodles and Yibin-style soaked duck eggs, which are complemented by baijiu produced by the Wuliangye Yibin Company.
