Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto International Airport
Stylish Hospitality within Toronto Airport
The 474-room Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Toronto International Airport has long enjoyed a preeminent location right within the Toronto Pearson International Airport. First opening in 1991, the hotel was envisioned as an integral part of the airport’s expansion, which included the ultramodern Terminal 3.
The hotel was designed and engineered by Scott Associates with Bregman + Hamann. The semi-circular design features exterior windows set in red frames to cleverly reveal a depiction of the Swiss flag, in homage to the hotel's first phase as a Swissotel.
Switzerland has been reputed for its high-quality clock making since the early 1600s, and the seven-foot, four-faced clock in the Sheraton's lobby was actually shipped over in pieces from Geneva and reassembled on site as one of the finishing touches. The four faces display the current times in Toronto, Tokyo, Los Angeles and London, a subtle indication that our hotel is truly a Gateway to the world.
