Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Disappointed I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Me and my brother where in town for a family reunion. When I found out they had chosen this hotel, I was very happy, as I'm an SPG member, and every Sheraton that I had stayed at before was a very good experience. With that said it would lead me to believe that this hotel has some issues . We arrived to find that our car would have to be valeted only, at a cost of $40 per day. If we needed anything from our car we could never t go to it, but had to have it brought to us, as staff were the only one allowed to get into parking garage. We went to check in. When we made resavations we where told that we would recieve the family rate. Well that didn't happen. We were told by staff they couldn't make any changes. We got to the room, put our things away. Then I had to use the bathroom. I flushed the toilet, and it over flowed. Call the desk, and was told someone would be up to fix it. Waited an hour and a half, no one showed. Called again, and was told again that someone would be up. Waited until midnight ( a total of 6 hrs) no one showed. We called it a night, since no one was coming. Got up the next morning, and the water in the toilet had gone down. Had to go, so flushed it again, this time it overflowed, sending water everywhere. This time I went down to the front desk. I spoke with the desk clerk, and he assured me that someone would be up right away. An hour later some one did show, fixed the toilet. Was then told house keeping would come to clean the bathroom. Another hour wait and someone finally came. They wanted to leave, because we where in the room, but we insisted that they clean and t now. The next day we woke up, had to go, and you guessed it the toilet was backed up again. We checked out. Leaving a day early. Worst time ever at a Sharaton. July 9, 2016

Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Experience While my visit to New Orleans was an excellent experience the stay at this hotel was forgetful. I was not acknowledged as an SPG member, the customer service from the staff was lacking, when we got to the room the toilet was not working, the shower handle was broken and there was rust in the shower. We had to call the front desk a number of times to get these items fixed. The day we left the one of the light fixtures was pouring water because apparently the room above us flooded and when I received the bill for my valet parking I was charged for 2 days not 1. The billing department in this hotel is terrible. I called consistently throughout the day and their modus operandi is to let it go to voicemail and they will contact you within two business days. Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely unsatisfactory Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing stays I and my staff have ever had in an SPG hotel. Other such hotels in other cities have been very good. In fact, our experience with SPG hotels would indicate the Sheraton New Orleans is an unhappy exception to the rule. I and each of my five staff members who were on this trip all had very similar experiences. So, I'm not just a complainer. It started off with our arrival at the hotel in the evening (~6:45PM local time), which found us waiting in the lobby while our rooms were (still) not ready for us to check in. When I, finally, got the key to my room and went upstairs, I found the room in complete disarray. Evidently, the person staying in the room just before me wasn't big on sanitation... towels strewn about the room, trash on the floor and bureau and half-eaten food on the dining table. So, we had to wait in the lobby for our rooms to be 'ready' - why? It wasn't as if I was in a standard room, either. This was one of two 'Presidential' suites in the hotel - supposedly, the best the hotel had to offer. Look up the rooms. You'll see they're not cheap. In fact, they don't even allow online reservations for those rooms. The view was beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows. It would have been even better if there was more than only one clean window. They were so dirty, one would think they get cleaned once per year. Guess it wasn't my week. After a couple nights with an air conditioner which neither shut off nor cooled the room, I changed rooms. The next room was better, save for the facts the floor had some sort of sticky substance all over it - as did the door handle. Gross. I had to wet a couple towels and wipe down the floor and door handle. After two hours, I realized I had left about a dozen shirts in the previous room's bureau (I packed hurriedly, as I wanted to get back to the convention we were in town to attend for that week). I went back with my previous key but it had already been disabled. I went to the front desk and asked to be let in to retrieve them. They didn't have anyone available right away. So, they promised the shirts would be retrieved and left in my new room. At this point, it's probably needless to say the shirts were not in my room when I got back to it. I called the front desk and asked where they were. The person didn't know but she was going to notify the manager and get back to me. No one ever go back to me. Over the course of several hours, I called the front desk not once, not twice, not even three times. That's right, four calls to the front desk - all with the same result, the person didn't know but the manager was going to call me within 30 minutes. No big surprise, I never hear from him - or anyone else - ever. So, at the end of our trip, I left the hotel minus a dozen shirts and not even a call to let me know something like "we looked but the shirts couldn't be located". To top it all off, the morning of our departure we ordered room service for breakfast from my room. The food was 30 minutes late and arrived cold. I'm not a big fan of cold oatmeal. All in all, the hotel couldn't have done much worse if they had actually tried. I sent a lengthy email to the manager. One of the managers responded and said she was 'sorry I had a disappointing stay'. It is more than a month later and - not a word about the shirts. I'll update this post in another month. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel – Modern Rooms I’ve stayed at the Sheraton over a year ago and was returning in June for a 6 days for a conference. I do like this property since they remodeled a few years ago. They have maintained it well. I enjoy the large lobby and the club room which always has a great selection of snacks and beverages also. I was in a suite for this stay and like that it’s large, cool, and comfortable. The hotel is on Canal so the nightlife begins just across the street. Everything is walkable and the staff are very friendly. When I am back in New Orleans I’ll gladly stay at the Sheraton again! June 29, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Place in the World! I love this hotel! The staff is awesome! Daniel who is a bellhop at the Sheraton in New Orleans gives such awesome service and that is why since my first time in NoLa and at a Sheraton, I have been a Sheraton customer since and that was in 2007 and I won't stay anywhere else.And each time I have gone he has been there smiling and ready to make me and my family feel right at home. All the other staff members and the manager Chris are awesome too. Hotel is clean and beds are amazing.So when you go to NOLA go to the bellhop desk and tell Daniel Mrs. Breaux from Texas sent ya cause you will not be disappointed. June 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Friendly, Professional and Accessible My family traveled to New Orleans to celebrate graduations, father's day and most of all to spend time with our family and friends. The Sheraton New Orleans did not disappoint! In fact, our stay was fabulous and comfortable. I would like to send a special thank you and shout out to James - the BEST bellman in the world! We are a family of five with an adult child who requires accessible accommodations. The staff went the extra mile to make sure that we were all comfortable in addition to the accessible accommodations which allowed our son to independently enjoy the hotel as well. We hope to visit New Orleans again soon and without a doubt -- the Sheraton New Orleans is where we will stay! June 20, 2016

Air conditioning in our high-floor room was marginal, and the rooms do not have refrigerators. Cleanliness could have been better. June 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful stay - except for Pelican Bar food .As an SPG platinum member, I got an early check-in and was upgraded to a deluxe room on the 23rd floor with a riverside view. The room itself was very spacious, nicely furnished and appropriately decorated. Fantastic view. It took a trip or two to completely figure out the elevators.You enter your room number on the keypad outside the elevator and you are "assigned" a specific elevator to go to. Do not just get on any elevator, as there are no floor buttons inside. If you are not certain you remembered the correct elevator, as you go in - the floors that the elevator will go to are highlighted in red lights on the internal closing portion of the elevator doors themselves. The club lounge is very nice and has a reasonable variety of selections for evening hors d'oeuvres (no "happy hour" like in many SPG lounges, as they do charge for beer and.wine). Breakfast had very limited offerings. The just-baked chocolate chip cookies were delightful. Location of the hotel itself is excellent. I would definitely stay here again on any future trip to New Orleans. The only really negative thing that I would have to say about our entire stay would be our meal at the Pelican Bar. My wife and I decided to try the seafood muffaletta sandwiches. We were very disappointed. I thought that the outside of the bread was supposed to be crispy or like a focaccia. I think that ours were actually hamburger buns. They looked exactly like hamburger buns and even had sesame seeds on them. They were soggy and mushy. After a bite or two, we both left the rest of the buns. I like salt and am aware that the olive tapenade in the sandwich would be salty. But it was so salty that I could barely eat the seafood salad while my wife did not eat any more of hers. I thought about asking the server if this is what they were supposed to be, but we had an appointment and could not wait for any replacement - and I also did not want to insult any local food tradition. Besides, the hotel had been generous about upgrades, early check-in and late check-out. So we just paid the bill and hurried off to our appointment. June 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by EXCELLENT STAY! Everything was GREAT from the time we checked in until we checked out. We arrived early and, as anticipated, our room was not available yet No problem, checked our bag into their baggage area, had a cocktail at the bar and then there was a call that our room was ready. Clean and nice room with great view and nice and cold air. Very quiet room and the bed was great. The staff couldn't have been more helpful with any questions we had, etc. This is our second stay here and will continue to stay here. Thank you to the Sheraton Staff! Peter and Darlene June 3, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by A magical Stay My husband & I spent our first trip to New Orleans at this hotel. We were so happy with the stay. Our room was beautiful & clean. Our room attendants were prompt, the room service department was very friendly & attentive. The front desk was also very helpful & quick when checking us in. Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor housekeeping and customer service Overall I thought the hotel was nice however I left my room in the morning to come back in the evening to take a nap and my room was not cleaned. So my boyfriend and I had to leave so that housekeeping could get in and clean the room. Down in the bar area the customer service was horrible and needs improvement. Staff was not responsive and took forever to acknowledge or check back with you. May 24, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by not bad I used the cash and points option for this stay. When I checked in, the desk girl didn't ask me if I wanted an upgrade. I assumed it was because of the jazz festival weekend, and the hotel was full. I forgot that the cash and points room was two double beds, which I realized once I got to my room, or I would have asked for a king bed room. I was on the top floor which was nice. When I opened the window shudders, I found that it was raining inside of the room, so I immediately picked up my stuff, and went down to the front desk. I informed them that i was not going to stay in a room that was leaking, and she gave me a new room. I asked for a king room too, and she gave it to me and apologized for the inconvenience. You can tell they spent some money upgrading the rooms. They were nicely modernized. (Not the typical Sheraton pink granite in the bathrooms). The club lounge had pretty nice evening snacks and decent breakfast. I didn't eat meals except breakfast at the hotel because really, who wants to eat hotel food in New Orleans? The hotel is incredibly convenient to everything by foot. May 6, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location I loved the Sheraton. It was in a central location which was perfect. Everything was in walking distance. The waterfront was 2 blocks down which was also where the outlet mall was. All the eateries and bars surrounding Bourbon Street was nearby. There were so many restaurants to choose from. I enjoyed the Starbucks inside the hotel daily. It was great to have a restaurant/bar in the lobby. No compalints. April 25, 2016

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad service! The system was down when we arrived to check in. When we finally got a room after 4pm, they shoved all 14 of us into one small room even though we had a reservation for 4 rooms. We finally got the other 3 rooms we reserved after 9pm, and after dealing with a manager who blamed us for the issue even though it was the hotel's fault. I will not be returning to this hotel any time soon. March 21, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by What a great stay! I am pretty easy to please, but I have to say the staff went above and beyond to always accommodate us. First off, let me start with housekeeping. These are the fastest ladies I have ever seen; I never caught their names but I know they were Hispanic as we spoke Spanish to each other. Great ladies and they did a fantastic job with the room. Second, let me throw a shout out to Ricky at the bar downstairs. Excellent bartender, made me a perfect hurricane and suggested great places around town. Third, another shout out to the restaurant on the second floor to Mrs. Shannon and Mr. Alvin. Alvin was attentive, kept our glasses filled, and told us about the surrounding area. Shannon was amazing as she sealed the deal for me to come back to New Orleans for Mardi Gras next year. She told me more info about the city than the tour guides, and a thank you to the servers she pulled for a brief history on the Native American culture during Mardi Gras. Lastly, let me not forget my friend in valet, I did not catch his first name but last name was Fernandez like me and he mentioned his parents are Dominican. Great associate, always greeted us and made us feel special. Honestly, I have never met a more special bunch of employees than this Sheraton. You guys were phenomenal, and I hope the General Manager makes a special mention to everyone I mentioned, because they all deserved it! Please, reward them. They earned it. March 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Staff Did a quick trip to meet clients and stayed over for fun. Every encounter with hotel staff was top notch. Recognized as Platinum member and upgraded to a beautiful suite with club level access. Bell Stand and driveway staff were friendly and efficient in assisting with luggage and transportation throughout stay. The times where I was looking for something staff approached me to see what I needed. All questions were answered politely and with a smile. Suite was quiet and arranged well. Although there are 49 floors, the elevators run very fast. Really like the location of hotel for access to the Quarter and beyond. Overall a great experience. Will definitely return to this property and recommend to friends and family. March 13, 2016
