Rated 4 out of 5 by DLeger Perfect location for a visit to NYC!
Jo at the front desk was phenomenal! She went above and beyond to accomodate my mom and I. She was helpful, friendly and offered superior customer service throughout our transaction. She made checking in an absolute breeze. The hotel itself was absolutely stunning with all of the holiday decorations. The lobby was warm and inviting and felt so cozy. The rooms were very clean and just the right size. (The one downfall we experienced was a very long wait in the restaurant as the staff seemed like they were completely unorganized and had no idea what they were doing.) I would definitely not recommend eating in the hotel restaurant but I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel!

Hotel Desk Staff very nice.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Didn't like the automatic charge thing for food and drinks in the room. If you pick something up to look at it, you've bought it, no questions or discussions. I was not told this upon check it nor was I familiar with this sort of thing.
As a gold member, I expected to find complimentary water in the room daily; none found.
No real restaurant per se for breakfast. Limited and extremely expensive.
Bonus points for having a Starbucks in the lobby.
Wish sheraton would change the tv and remotes. always a delay when pushing buttons on the remote to change a channel. one never knows if it is going to work or not.
bonus for the iphone app. for controlling the tv; works better than the room remote where responsiveness is concerned.
would be nice to be able to see your bill on the tv and check out using the tv.
liked the new card system for entering the room; much easier to use than sliding cards into a slot and never knowing if you put the card in correctly.
need to put signs up in hallways to remind people that it's a hotel and that all people don't awake the same time as others, i.e. keep the noise and conversations down in the hallways.
install self closing hallway doors that close silently.
great location for accessing the subway lines.
great location for the macy's parade and time's square.
i've never been to an spg hotel that recognized me as a gold member. nor do they every offer the upgrades for rooms or benefits unless I ask directly even when there's a sign for members only at the front desk. after asking, i was told there were no upgrades available (wouldn't even give me access to the concierge level members room) but they offered to comp me on the internet and fitness center, which I thought was good even thought I had to ask for them.
elevators are good.
doormen are good.
cleaning staff are good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Toptyke2 Hectic Lobby, Peaceful Rooms
This large hotel is understandably busy in its public spaces -and the open-to-lobby coffee shop is less than restful. Staff, especially in the Hudson Market are excellent, as is the quality of the hotel food, both in restaurants and through room service.
The location is very convenient -a few blocks to Broadway, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Lincoln Centre, Central Park etc.
Not cheap, with hefty, apparently mandatory, tips added to all bills, but hard to begrudge the excellent staff.
The room on the SPG floor was fine, with excellent TV, well-stocked mini-bar and a very comfortable bed.
Very aware and plentiful staff to ensure safety.

The room renovation was mostly cosmetic but was nice - Since I was almost across from service doors, it could be noisy as rooms are not that soundproofed, but was ok, room was serviced promptly and was clean. Downside is that it is impossible to get club level or club access. Also, the on site restaurant choices are slim. Yes, I know that there are lots of great restaurants in the area, but sometimes work, weather or just a busy day makes you want to stay close

About 5 blocks from Times Square & 5 blocks from Central Park! Rooms were an ok size. Great deal using star points to stay in NY during a busy time for free!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fancy Sheraton NYC
This hotel is in a perfect location to all the hot spots in NYC. We could walk to Central Park, Time Square, Broadway theaters and even the Apple Store (my kids favorite). It is just far enough away that you don't hear the 'all night' party that seems to go on there. This is beautiful hotel, the staff was kind and helpful and the room was very clean. The only downside is we could hear the people next door talking & parking is expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by guidone A comfortable stay in a wounded New York
Though New York had just been struck by the Sandy hurricane, our stay in the Sheraton Times Square has been just about perfect.
The staff is friendly and extremely helpful and some little inconveniences with our room facilities were fixed in a very effective and timely way.
The position of the hotel is just great, close to Central Park, the subway, Times Square and the 5th avenue.

We recently stayed in the Sheraton during Hurraine Sandy, following our evacuation from our hotel. The staff were all amazing especially Matthew on the check in desk, who helped us so much. Even though the hotel was at full capacity, the staff (who were also personally dealing with the impact of the hurricane) all had time to listen and went out of their way to help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Campos64 clean, safe, close to everything
Beautifully decorated, clean, safe, and within walking distance to theaters, Times Square and Central Park. I plan on returning next November. There was a gentleman at the Bell Captain's desk, named Sydney, that was extremely helpful early Sunday morning when I was trying to figure out the best way to get to the Staten Island Ferry. Thank you, Mr. Sydney!

We stayed by you before, during, and after Sandy hit New York. Inside the hotel we couldn´t tell there was anyrhing going on outside if we didn´t swiched on the TV. Everything went very smoothly and a special thanks to the receptionist whwo was most kind and helpful. Maybe I think the hotel could benefit from a little more decent breakfastprices. We went out eating breakfast all days but the first. Overall though, we had a very pleasent stay att Sheraton New York. Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by FrenchyII It Was Almost an Excellent Experience
The first three nights we had booked online and got a great rate. However, because of the hurricane we were forced to stay another two nights. I asked for the same rate, but I was told they couldn't give me that rate. I can somewhat understand their reasoning until we factor in the lack of service that was available to us a.k.a. little service for our room which wasn't the cleaning people's fault. But the Sheraton could have reverted back to a cheaper rate to make up for some of the inconveniences that their patrons incurred.

Rated 4 out of 5 by lisar48 Ok, but expected better for The Sheraton
Overall our stay was very good, with a few exceptions. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly. Our bags were loaded onto a cart and brought in for us. We then went to checkin. It was too early, so we had to bring our bags to have held for later checkin. Which was fine, except the bellhop left me in line with the cart. I proceeded thru the line with the cart and checked the bags in myself. Not very professional for this type of hotel. If I wanted the service of a Days Inn, I would have stayed there. I accidently left a pr of earrings in a pouch in a bag that I left in the car. And someone stole them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tika2001 Tiny Room
Overall the hotel is excellent and the staff are terrific. However, my room, which was on the Club level, was very small. I could barely squeeze between the bed and the credenza. I stayed at the hotel last year (on the Club level) and I don't remember the room being that small. Also the bathroom did not have a bathtub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pete4palace Good overall but needs attention
the room was excellent value for money, not large but adequate(remember it is in New york). Maid service service good, Conceigre service varied from helpful to bored(rude), coffee lounge good but why do you have to go there to get free WiFi? Please get in the 21st century Sheraton!

Rated 4 out of 5 by deedle Shopped around, best price
This hotel deals in absolute volume, so check in and lobby tradfic can be a bit hectic. This is not a serene lobby atmosphere to lounge in, but rather an energetic NYC " get up And go" vibe. Taxi service, courtesy of the front door staff is quick and efficient. Rooms are very comfortable, down coverlets are on the warm side, AC worked like a charm. Breakfast prices in the restaurant are overpriced, but thankfully there is a Starbucks in the lobby...why go anywhere else?

Rated 4 out of 5 by micarma4 convenient location
We had girls weekend out. Beds very comfortable. On second day insufficient towels and toilet paper were left for us and had to call to get replenished. Service was quick upon request. Parking rates a bit high. At desk, needed better local knowledge of comedy clubs and prices/terms. Not very soundproof within building but soundproof to outside noise. Staff overall friendly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DrJoe Overall one of my favorite places to stay in New York City
Whenever I stay here I reserve a Club Level room. This time I was disappointed in the food they offered in the lounge. In the past there was a nicer assortment of snacks. Same with the continental breakfast. Need to step that up to what it was in the past.

the room is larger than many in Manhattan.
It includes a sofa/daybed that an extra person could sleep on and a large desk/dresser unit.
The location is just 3 blocks from many subway stations and easy walking distance to Times Square and theaters.

I like the newly renovated rooms. Nice job and big improvement over the old rooms.
Just one complaint. We were taking the JFK train to the plane. I asked at the hotel numerous times and was told to take the E train at the corner. We did just that but did not know we had to take the E train uptown and not downtown. We realized our mistake when I asked someone on the train. We had to get out, exit the station, re-pay again, and get on the uptown train. If the hotel staff had paid more attention to detail and let me know to take the E train, uptown, it would have saved us time and aggravation.

the renovation is great, esp the new beds and window blinds, but you need towel hooks or bars in the bathrooms to hang up wet towels! the tea at the bar is a little steep to swallow, $6.99! front desk reception was fast.
