Rated 2 out of 5 by not good I was at your hotel because of a conference of 1500 people. The restaurant was not open for lunch, neither was the coffee bar. No place to get a quick bite. Getting my car at the end took over an hour. and the next morning when I left for the airport at 4:15am, it took over 20 minutes to retrieve the car....unacceptable! checking in, I was given the wrong room and key...it was already occupied...my key didn't work the next day.. just overall, not good! Rated 2 out of 5 by Reunion The needs of my family runion were not met. I was very disappointed with the banquet set-up, with the food for the meet & greet and with how we were treated. The staff at the Sheraton did not honor their word. We were told that we had the banquet room, which was an actual meeting room for 12 hours only to find out we had it for 3 hours. We were also told that someone from my group saw and approved the room, which was a lie. We were not pleased at all. August 2, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junior Leadership Development Conference I was very dissatisfied with the accommodations and the hotel staff. We were at a conference with 6000 students and advisors and there was not sufficient staff to help us. It was impossible to get food service and most venues ran out of things. I do not think that the hotel was at all prepared. My room was not clean and I had to clean it myself. I tried to use the computers in the Lobby and it would not let me log in. September 25, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Concierge Service Our conference ran long so we had to check out before we were leaving the hotel. This gentleman was the only staff member who greeted us kindly during our whole stay. He stored our bags and later when it was time to leave, took a cart and escorted us personally to our vehicle with our luggage. Other staff in the hotel performed their duties but, not with a smile and rarely a thank you. October 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed I was not impressed with this hotel at all. With the Sheraton name and the size of this hotel, it was not at all what I expected. The staff was nice enough, and the bed was comfortable, that's about all I can say positive about my stay. No ice machines that worked, and my room was constantly freezing while another inmy group was too hot. The carpet is disgusting. The restaurants are insanely overpriced, and even best westerns offer free wifi. June 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not consistant I travel every other week and have stayed here since april. I always ask for the green choice. Sometimes I just get it other times I don't get it without turning in the ticket. The last 4 times I have always drank all the bottle water that was left. This past time I was charged $3.00 Sometimes they take all my towels and wash clothes even though I requested the green choice. Sometimes I get shower gel and sometimes I don't. Just be consistent. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the Sheraton I Expected Beyond the exterior and lobby decor this hotel needs plenty of management work. The staff was pleasant and graceous, however, It took us 2 hours, yes TWO, to check in. During this time they did offer refreshments, but what I really wanted was to get settled. Murmurs through the crowd were they're just not prepared to handle large crowds. Are you kidding me? They sit next door to the convention center. Crowds should be their speciality. Once our room assignments were given we arrived on the 8th floor to piles of laundry on the floor outside of rooms. I was skeptical as I entered my room, which was okay. Didn't eat there as prices were exorbitant and again long lines. Check out made easy on the TV wasn't working , so back to standing in another line. Overall VERY disappointing. I've stayed at lesser hotels with more attention to the customer. May 1, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Problem with water in shower On the morning of 5/9/13, I could not regulate the very hot water in the shower. After running the water for 10 minutes, the water temp went to full cold! We could not use the shower at all. I reported the problem to the front desk however we needed to get going. At checkout, I was awarded points to be used for our next stay which helped ease the disappointment. The scalding hot water could be a very serious safety concern for future guests. May 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shuttle service I had to phone the front desk 3 times and waited more than 2 hours before the shuttle bus picked me up at the airport. Meantime the hotel is only 10 min from the airport. I had a similar experience the year before. Very poor service! The front desk also told me that I can just come 10 min before I need a shuttle bus to take me to the airport. But when I went to the desk I was told that the bus goes only every hour. There is no co-ordination! July 25, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Disappointing The pool was not working. We had made arrangements over the phone over the course of a week to make sure hotel would use credit card on file but when I got there they said u was given the wrong information. For the price of the room there should have been some type of free breakfast instead it was average cost of 22.00 per person as was quoted to me over the phone from room service. Friday and Saturday night the bar closed early according to listing in my room. However, when I called to double check I was told bar closes at 1:30am went down at 12midnight approximately 5 minutes after my phone call and was informed the bar was closed. After that I barely stayed in the room parking was not convenient after a certain point in the night and it proved easier and more relaxing to stay elsewhere. Just was not worth the price and I will never recommend. August 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Night Auditor I thought I would have trouble booking a same night points reservation after midnight. But I was wrong. Both the hotel staff and central reservations were very helpful and patient. When I arrived I was greeted by a genuinely kind lady with a warm smile and all the information I needed to feel comfortable in your facility right away. Though the hotel is a bit outdated the staff made all the difference. September 24, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by decent if you HAVE to be downtown I was there for the mercedes marathon so I needed to be within walking distance, otherwise I probably would have gone somewhere else. There were stains on the floor in the hotel room, it was not a good part of town. The walls were very thin and it was very loud. I had to get up very early and our room was facing the open area where all the resturants were and it was just very loud. Needless to say I didn't get a very good nights sleep. February 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by overpriced and overrated This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. Parking wasn't free at all. I had to move rooms twice because the AC's wouldn't work. The entire experience was overpriced and completely not worth it. I will never stay in one of these so called "fancy" hotels again. The Wifi was 10 bucks a day. Really? I could've stayed at a different hotel and got free parking, free breakfast, and free Wifi. Next time, you better believe I will June 16, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not suitable for light sleepers This hotel buts up to an interstate of which my room had a direct view. The traffic from the interstate kept me awake all night long. Would only recommend this hotel to folks who sleep extremely hard or have a hearing deficiency. November 22, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 Used and Abused Dirty Old Hotel Toilet had not been cleaned, shower not clean, fried chicken skin in chair when we arived. Check in was a nightmare and we stood in line for 50 min to get checked in. Staff could not help with directions to restraunts or venues even within walking distance. Dacor needs a major overhaul. Sleep fairly well but hey... I was drunk by bed time so i would not have to think about the butt fuzz on the toilet seat that was left there for us. December 31, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a lot of hot water on the 15th floor I expect a bit more from the Sheraton. This hotel has issues ... After an evening workout, I came back to my room to no hot water. Had warm water the next morning and then cold later in the day. The morning after that, cold again. I did call and was offered a free breakfast, but was attending a conference that had one. The woman was very nice and explained that a lot of people were probably taxing the system, which I find hard to believe. Also, I ordered room service and had some chicken wings brought up. The wings were fine, but the drumsticks were not cooked all the way through. That is very unsafe. I called to complain ... was offered breakfast. Upon checkout, was surprised to see the charge for room service. Ceiling panels in the closet were also stained. I expect more from Sheraton. Have stayed a many Sheratons in the South, i.e. Mobile and Orlando and found this property very tired. The meeting space was very good though. October 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Location the best oart Stayed here for the Mercedes Half-Marathon. Hotel is very busy and the rooms turn over a lot. The rooms are ok as far as cleanliness but show signs of wear. HVAC is tough to manage. My room was so hot even with the temp set at 60. Not sure I understand that. I will stay here again because it is right around the corner from the start line. If I was in B-ham for another reason, I would stay somewhere else. Great fitness center. February 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Club on 17th floor! Worst ever Everything was great except for your club breakfast on the 17th floor! Awful, and your help was not good or friendly at all! there was no bacon, juice, water and barely some eggs! Not happy with that at all!!!!! November 21, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by bad visit I was told one rate on the phone and then was told when I got there by a mang. I could not have it.129 is what they said, I paid 189 and when I called the 800 number form my room they said 169 but still would not adjust anything- The garbage was not emptied from guest prior, the next day it took at least 15 min in shower to get hot water- and there was blood on our duvet cover and I took a picture with my self phone of that. Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs some changes The room was small and the bathroom tiny. We had ants during the entire stay even after requesting the room be sprayed. The staff at the vehicle checkin did not offer to help my wife with a luggage cart or offer to help her after she got one on her on. She had to request help with a heavy bag The bellman, however, was very good. The registration desk was very helpful. October 4, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by check in experience This hotel needs to have some process improvements related to check in experience. My first time here- checking in at 10 pm- I arrived- waited at desk 15 minutes no help. Delta flight crew arrive staff scrambled to help them. I had to walk over to the concierge after flight crew to ask to be checked in- get that I had to ask for them to get me to check in. I was embarrassed for them September 20, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by The room needed some maintenance Several things in the room were broken or didn't work: broken dresser drawer; alarm clock could not be set; TV remote didn't work right; wall sconce lights difficult to turn on and off because buttons were stuck. Rated 4 out of 5 by Honest Assessment The hotel itself is a great facility. During check-in, the representative didn't seem to be attentive nor willing to check me in. She never acknowledged me, another representative finally did. Once I got to my floor, on the Club Level, there was bags of trash in the hall-way next to my room; it was 5:30 p.m. Unacceptable! Someone finally removed the bags of trash sometime after 8 p.m. The Club Lounge was excellent. May 6, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mrs. Great location for travelers...wonderful and friendly staff. I was even allowed to have early check in before the conference began which was very helpful for my schedule. Everything was perfect except there was no soap in the bathroom when I arrived. But I called for the soap and it was delivered within 10 minutes. Then later someone called to be sure that the items had been delivered. So I was a happy camper!!! January 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome! From the moment we checked in to the moment we left our stay here was exceptional. Jocelyn was so helpful and kind during check in. We were there for the Extrodinary Women's Conference at the BJCC so everything was right there. The only issue we had was when the conference was over was getting out of the parking garage. It took one hour to get out. Would definately recommend this hotel and will stay there again. May 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Unbelievable Staff and Attention tonDetail I can not say enough about every staff member at this hotel. They made a very difficult trip just a true pleasure to come back to the room each day and night. Everyone from valet, to the front desk, lobby bar and restaurants made it a point to call me by name and that shows attention to detail. I will be staying again soon and anytime I am in the area this will be my home away from home. Thanks to everyone. May 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed I stayed here in Birmingham, Al Sheraton for two weeks. My air condition did not work for the first four days and the last four days. I call for room service for three days and the service never came. The pool was close for repairs. The water was shut off for some type of repair ,when I had to shower the water was brown; I was never notified of the water issue. My hotel bill was incorrect at check out. June 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Overall Stay My resent stay did not meet my expected standards for a Sharton Hotel. The room did not have any ready available outlets to plug in my cellphone charger or laptop. My stay was on a Monday evening and the ESPN channel did not display so I missed the MNF game that evening. Also the room was always hot and did not cool down even when I lowered the temp. Not an enjoyable stay. Also the iron did not heat up. October 9, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Due to the design of this hotel it is noisy On my first night the guests in the adjacent room were loud and disruptive, inhibiting my sleep. On my second night in the hotel, a large group of young students were extremely loud in the atrium area and disrupted my sleep. Security addressed the problem quickly on the first night. With a large contingent of business people in the hotel, the service for breakfast was sluggish and took too much time. April 19, 2013
