The pool was not working. We had made arrangements over the phone over the course of a week to make sure hotel would use credit card on file but when I got there they said u was given the wrong information. For the price of the room there should have been some type of free breakfast instead it was average cost of 22.00 per person as was quoted to me over the phone from room service. Friday and Saturday night the bar closed early according to listing in my room. However, when I called to double check I was told bar closes at 1:30am went down at 12midnight approximately 5 minutes after my phone call and was informed the bar was closed. After that I barely stayed in the room parking was not convenient after a certain point in the night and it proved easier and more relaxing to stay elsewhere. Just was not worth the price and I will never recommend.

It's a hotel that is a convenient place to stay. The service and cleanliness all met expectations, but its proximity to the central commercial district and historic resources are the reason to stay here. There is an amazing and broad range of great places to eat just a few blocks away on the other side of the freeway. Birmingham is a wonderful, historic city, and this hotel has a great location to facilitate memorable times in Birmingham.

I was very satisfied with the condition of the hotel. If you stay for BJCC event, just take the skywalk over to the concert hall. So easy. Comfortable bed and bath was fine.
Great experience except for very slow room service. Had to call twice and still no one came. Front desk called to see if we had received our items but we hadn't. Got them about 30 minutes later. Total wait for room service order was over 2 hours.

I was there for the mercedes marathon so I needed to be within walking distance, otherwise I probably would have gone somewhere else. There were stains on the floor in the hotel room, it was not a good part of town. The walls were very thin and it was very loud. I had to get up very early and our room was facing the open area where all the resturants were and it was just very loud. Needless to say I didn't get a very good nights sleep.

Rated 2 out of 5 Used and Abused Dirty Old Hotel
Toilet had not been cleaned, shower not clean, fried chicken skin in chair when we arived. Check in was a nightmare and we stood in line for 50 min to get checked in. Staff could not help with directions to restraunts or venues even within walking distance. Dacor needs a major overhaul. Sleep fairly well but hey... I was drunk by bed time so i would not have to think about the butt fuzz on the toilet seat that was left there for us.

In traveling through Birmingham Ala, we arrived at the peak-time of the peak weekend, totally unaware of the local event. During the chaos of parking our over-sized vehicle, a most remarkable young man saved the day by truly helping us (old and tired travelers) manage a very difficult situation. Ethan Tripps, Manager of Valet is an EXCELLENT employee, diplomatic problem solver and all-in-all the BEST Sheraton PR person imaginable!

The staff was very friendly, the room was alright. You could hear the interstate all night. The place is a money pit, you had to rent refrigerator, pay $1.00 for local calls and then $9.95 for wifi (its free at mcdonalds and other locations including hotels). It was conveinent for the BJCC. I was extremely angry about them charging me twice for my room and them telling me it would take 3-5 days for it to be returned to my account.

My daughter and I decided to have "girls night out" with my 4 & 6 year old granddaughters. Your new pool was just the ticket except that the water was so cold that they only stayed in a few minutes. I paid to be on the club level so that we could have appetizers after swimming and breakfast the next morning. The appetizers consisted of chips, and granola bars. Dissatisfied, I complained to Kristina and she made it right! Thanks!

Stayed here for the Mercedes Half-Marathon. Hotel is very busy and the rooms turn over a lot. The rooms are ok as far as cleanliness but show signs of wear. HVAC is tough to manage. My room was so hot even with the temp set at 60. Not sure I understand that. I will stay here again because it is right around the corner from the start line. If I was in B-ham for another reason, I would stay somewhere else. Great fitness center.

I was told one rate on the phone and then was told when I got there by a mang. I could not have it.129 is what they said, I paid 189 and when I called the 800 number form my room they said 169 but still would not adjust anything- The garbage was not emptied from guest prior, the next day it took at least 15 min in shower to get hot water- and there was blood on our duvet cover and I took a picture with my self phone of that.

The Sheraton was the recommended conference for a conference I was attending at the BJCC. I am a Birmingham native and have always thought great things about the hotel. I must say that I was extremely disappointed. The staff was very nice and friendly; however, the accommodations were not on par with the nightly rate. The rooms were a decent size; however my room had some peeling wallpaper and there was dust in the corners. The bathrooms were extremely small and there was dust and dirt in the corners of the ceiling and worn wallpaper on the walls. My room was in the tower portion of the hotel, had a nice view, and was on a "SPG Preferred Floor"; however, the carpet on the floor needs to be replaced and the walls had scratch marks where they had been bumped with luggage and housekeeping carts. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again with the prices listed.

I was staying at the hotel when the "snowstorm" hit. The staff did an incredible job of accommodating the hotel full of guests who were unable to leave. They kept the restaurant going, provided as much housekeeping services as they could, and handled overall services, all with limited staff. They were able to accommodate me in staying an extra night when my flight was canceled. All staff were friendly and willing to help.

This is our 3rd time staying at this Sheraton Hotel. We stop here on our way to and from Orlando. Each stay has been great. Never any issues, rooms are clean and comfortable. Request for housekeeping are quickly recieved. We will continue to stay here any time we pass through. Very conveinent to the highway. Only issue is parking is quite a distance from our room and we had to pay.
Other that that it is a great hotel.

We had purchased the club access for its convenience and location next to our room. there were no plates or cups available. We contacted the desk for a refund were they sent us to the second floor for breakfast. There was confusion because you are supposed to have a coupon which we didn't. The bar and grill was a nightmare. No seating, horrible service and the wait staff did not seemed interested in waiting on you.

Hotel was convenient to Civic Center and Sports Hall of Fame. No free WiFi connection in room; paid connections ($10 per day) must be renewed each day. If tech support is needed, you will be connected to India. Cell phone reception in room was nonexistent. Cold water one day and low water pressure. No frig or safe in room. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Quiet and otherwise comfortable. Right on trolley line.

The hotel itself is a great facility. During check-in, the representative didn't seem to be attentive nor willing to check me in. She never acknowledged me, another representative finally did. Once I got to my floor, on the Club Level, there was bags of trash in the hall-way next to my room; it was 5:30 p.m. Unacceptable! Someone finally removed the bags of trash sometime after 8 p.m. The Club Lounge was excellent.

Reservations for a future date was refused because of some activity during the lask weekend in October 2014. Confirmed that rooms were available but could not use starpoints. I thought SPG members would be considered if rooms were available and there was no blackout period. Very disappointed because I tried online, at the front desk, and via inhouse reservations.

Great location for travelers...wonderful and friendly staff. I was even allowed to have early check in before the conference began which was very helpful for my schedule. Everything was perfect except there was no soap in the bathroom when I arrived. But I called for the soap and it was delivered within 10 minutes. Then later someone called to be sure that the items had been delivered. So I was a happy camper!!!

From the moment we checked in to the moment we left our stay here was exceptional. Jocelyn was so helpful and kind during check in. We were there for the Extrodinary Women's Conference at the BJCC so everything was right there. The only issue we had was when the conference was over was getting out of the parking garage. It took one hour to get out. Would definately recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

For one of the largest hotels in the area, it needs a lot of work. Room was not cleaned when we arrived. I had to sanitize my own bath, again, after staff tried cleaning it. water was not hot enough. I had to run for a long time, to get hot and I was on a business trip. Internet was not working, even after having to pay extra for it. No microwave and refrigerator. a must with children. Inside pool out of order.

I can not say enough about every staff member at this hotel. They made a very difficult trip just a true pleasure to come back to the room each day and night. Everyone from valet, to the front desk, lobby bar and restaurants made it a point to call me by name and that shows attention to detail. I will be staying again soon and anytime I am in the area this will be my home away from home. Thanks to everyone.

I was in town for the Taste of 4th Ave jazz festival with friends and had a great time. All 10 stayed and had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. From the professional staff to the great food...it keeps me coming back!

We have stayed on several different occasions and never been disappointed. Very clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Ours rooms have always been reasonably quite for such a busy hotel. Love that it is attached to the BJCC for going to events. Complementary breakfast was really good and in a clean nice and peaceful area. It is a long walk from the parking garage. I would suggest luggage on wheels :)

My resent stay did not meet my expected standards for a Sharton Hotel. The room did not have any ready available outlets to plug in my cellphone charger or laptop. My stay was on a Monday evening and the ESPN channel did not display so I missed the MNF game that evening. Also the room was always hot and did not cool down even when I lowered the temp. Not an enjoyable stay. Also the iron did not heat up.

I thought I would have trouble booking a same night points reservation after midnight. But I was wrong. Both the hotel staff and central reservations were very helpful and patient.
When I arrived I was greeted by a genuinely kind lady with a warm smile and all the information I needed to feel comfortable in your facility right away.
Though the hotel is a bit outdated the staff made all the difference.

The room was very wet our intire stay (one week). We made the front desk aware of our issue and two engineers came by and let us know that the AC system was water cooled and that Alabama is very humid. We live in Florida. There was so much moisture in the room that everything was wet!

The room was nice Great bed all was clean but handyman needs to do some work that should have been done before renting out. air-handler cover needs screws, (falling off wall) Tub needs some acid run down the drain due to it not draining correctly.
Staff in main entrance needs to know more about where you send you guests, before you send them somewhere. and much more that is to much to write here.

A couple of snafus...(1) Heat went out in room on the 3rd night..was offered another room but opted to stick it out due to inconvenience of moving...(2) For some UNKNOWN reason my car was parked out front when it was supposed to be in valet parking. I am still upset and dismayed over this incident, especially with the immediate disclaimer that the parking and hotel were separate companies...really!!!
