This by far as been my worst experience at a SPG hotel. It started with the checkin process. We arrived at 7:30 pm and the room still wasn't ready. We decided to go across the street and grab some drinks and dinner. We managed to get our keys and the I go to my room and then keys didn't work! I'm not an idiot, I know not to put these Keys near my phone. I go back down and finally managed to get another set. The checkin process is like the first impression and this hotel failed. I do not have high hopes for the rest of my stay.
Also, there was no recognition of my SPG status. Worst hotel ever. Stay somewhere else when in Orlando

Although the hotel was close to many restaurants, I was very disappointed that this hotel is part of SPG. It's a pet friendly hotel and many pet owner's are inconsiderate. There was dog feces in halls and around vehicles. The bed was very firm and not comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was minimal. Many guests complained at front desk about this issue. Internet service was poor and slow. Hotel needs much improvement. Did not expect this from an SPG property.

Honestly, in terms of location and proximity to Disney World, this is a fine location. The complimentary bus shuttle to Disney World was extremely useful, appreciated, & free!
This Sheraton is made up of four buildings. The main building (where you check-in) is the only part of the hotel that has interior-corridor rooms (I think). The other 3 buildings (called Palms 2, 3, or 4) have exterior-corridor access. I was in Palm 4 and felt the exterior part of the building to be dated. The elevator in Palm 4 is dirty and most likely a multi-purpose elevator used by guests and housekeeping staff, alike. Palm 4 is "suite-style" arrangements.
Our room was fine and up to date. I wish the room was better vacuumed because long strands of hair were tracked into the tiled-bathroom. The air-conditioner is loud, but that was solved by wearing earplugs. I know this hotel has gone through significant renovation, but if there's a "phase II" project, I hope that it'll involve replacing the AC units in the Palms buildings.
The staff were friendly and very helpful, right from the parking valet to check-in to guest services. I received two drink vouchers to be used at the hotel bar (thanks to Gold Status, I think). The bartender accepted them without issue.
If you don't like children, then perhaps you may want to consider another hotel. Lots of families and children use the pools. Since the kids are on vacation, I observed that they're probably letting out ALOT of energy....be prepared. I applaud the pool-manager in trying to keep order and safety, particularly around the water slide. The pools remain open until 11pm, but I think the outdoor "tiki" bar remains open until later.

I have used this hotel a number of times for its convenience to Disney. I did have issues checking out this time. Check-out is at Noon. We were late getting in the night before (Magic Kingdom was open until 1 AM). Went to get breakfast before they closed at 11 AM expecting to leave before Noon. When we got back to our room, cleaning had came in and actually put some of our things away in drawers. My son got concern about his iPad and my wife missed getting her flat iron. We think it must have been put in a drawer. Then, they try charging us another day because the cleaning people reported that we were still in the room. Remember, this all happen before the Noon check-out. I tried to checkout online thru the TV but couldn't so we just left since the front desk was so far away.

I travel all over the country and the world, and while I have stayed in many hotels that are nicer than this one (it's perfectly fine, perfectly nice, clean -- just not the MOST luxurious) I have NEVER had the service I had here. At midnight Rodney the night auditor went to the store and got me contact lens solution and a case. All I did was ask if they had any, he offered, he went -- didn't even charge me for it (they must have a fund for such things?) and wouldn't take a tip! They were all really great.....go there for the service.

Good stay, excellent staff! Especially, @Robert Kane, the luggage attendant at Fort Lauderdale Westin knew my daughter and I would be staying in Orlando this past week for a national pageant she was competing in, for the title of Miss American Teen. He recommended this resort and made sure our stay was as carefree and lovely, as possible. He called to confirm we made it safely and was very professional, caring and fun! He was sincerely interested in our stay & our satisfaction with the resort, as well as my daughter's success! He wanted to make sure that she remembered this stay and he succeeded! My daughter didn't place in the tip 15-but She did wonderfully, and Mr Rob as she calls him, made her feel like a princess! Starwood should have more folks like this working for them! I'd like to thank him for his professionalism and helpfulness personally and hope that started recognizes what a great employee they have in him!
I would also like to mention Alex, from the front desk who was also very helpful and polite whenever we needed anything. Thanks Starwood/Sheraton

We had stayed at this property before, when it was the Sheraton Safari. What a transformation! Gorgeous, clean, well designed, good interior room lighting and very comfortable beds. I liked that the sink area was separate from the bath/ toilet area. Having a pet in the room is very important to us, so we very much appreciated the hotels pet cooperation policy. We'll be back.
