This hotel is entirely overpriced for the experience. Seriously? Wireless internet is an extra cost in 2013?
And then: the shower floor was visibly dirty. The water is eating a hole in the ceiling of the shower. The view was beautiful, but the window was so dirty that I thought it was raining.
I asked for a wake up call, which never occurred. Instead, an hour later, security tried to open my door without warning because they said I hadn't answered my call. The phone did not ring!
Later that afternoon when I tried to nap, an emergency alarm sounded and told us to immediately evacuate the building. So we (my entire floor) ran down 14 flights of stairs to find out this was a false alarm. A halfhearted apology was all we received.
AND if this wasn't enough, there was the constant sound of construction, hammering and drilling.
All in all, my experience was so poor it is almost laughable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Businesstravel99 worst Sheraton I've seen
I am a frequent traveler and found the New Orleans Sheraton the worst stay I have had in years. Very unprofessionaly run hotel. Children of hotel staff were running through lobby at 11:00 PM - going in and out of office while I tryed to check in; "cash" customers were negotation room rates at front desk and restaurant reception was busy talking with boyfiends during my entire breakfast. Room condition was poor with large red stains on carpet

I booked the room due to the fact that I was without electricity because of hurricane Isaac. I did not know how long I would need the room, so I asked 3 people on 3 different occassions if I could book the room night to night. I was told yes on all 3 occassions as long as I booked before the 12 noon check out time. To my surprise, after 2 nights of stay, I called to book the room for another night and was told by management that I couldn't. I then went in person and spoke to a very helpful employee who did give me the room for another night.
Another issue was cleanliness. Upon arrival I found a half eaten biscuit and a dirty towel behind one of the chairs. On the desk chair there was some type of liquid dripped down the backside of the chair. The room was also rather dusty. I do have pics of the biscuit and the liquid on the back of the chair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Migstep This hotel is great for the location.
The front desk staff and bell service went beyond their job. They came through with all my requests, extremely friendly and professional even with a very overbooked hotel weekend for the New Orleans Marathon. I can only offer the highest praise to them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Whatever21 OK, not that impressed
It was an ok stay. I would recommend, but I would recommend others first.
I'm a bit peeved that they nickel and dime you with the wireless connection. In this day and age, it should be free throughout the hotel.
The elevators were a mess. This new system is very annoying. If I change my mind and want to get off at any floor, I have to go to my requested destination or hope that someone stops the elevator. VERY ANNOYING.
I expected more for.

Great hotel. Main issue lots of construction at this time in the hotel and beyond hotel control, many streets are under construction making travel around hotel difficult. All of this will be corrected in near future. Hope our group (HFMA) will move back to the Sheraton next year. Thanks for all you did for me. One item on cost, the breakfeast buffet is great but was my modt costly meal. $22 is a lot for many travelers on budgets.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Traycal Poor service for luxury hotel
Let me start by saying, I usually never complain, but when I pay luxury prices, I want luxury service. As soon as we got in the hotel it was not as wonderful an experience as hoped. To check in, I had to stand and wait for someone to come to the counter. Then, I get to the elevators, that are way different than any others. No one told me where they were or how to operate this system. I figured it out. Then, after placing my card on the door for breakfast room service, they did not deliver. Their excuse, we misplaced the room service cards. No apology and still charged $75 for a stack of pancakes and coffee. Then, the water was lukewarm in the shower. My 6 year old was shivering. Then, I called valet to have my car brought round. No one would answer. I will stay at different luxury hotel next time I am in NOLA! One with luxury service. There are several right around there.

The checkout experience was the worst hotel experience of my life!!! Two hours from start to finish, and I didn't try to go thru the checkout desk-I just left. Hotel grossly understaffed-too few bellmen, too few parking attendants-its not like you didn't know how many guests were coming or gong on a given day-PREPARE and PLAN.

This newly renovated hotel was the best Sheraton we've ever stayed in! The staff was very helpful and friendly, (Jenee even printed our boarding passes from her office when the public printer was out of toner). The room was clean, beautiful, comfortable bed and bedding and awesome view. We upgraded to the club level which included breakfast that was high quality and delicious! This is our new place to stay in New Orleans!

the conference space was good, but the rooms were all freezing. The food definitely was not spectacular. The chicken was tough in the jambalaya, the crab cakes were too fishy (almost inedible), the salad greens were wilted, etc. For the Exec Chef being from France I would have expected much better. We're going to be hosting over 650 people next June who are in the food business. We need to exceed their expectations for all meals.

I nornally always stay at the Sheraton on Canal street because of the hotel, staff and the location. This visit actually ruined my vacation. If you are remodeling, pleae inform guest prior to arrival. To wake of 4 days of your vacation to banging every morning is not ideal. When I called the front desk to ask them could they have them start after 8am at least, no apology was offered just a flat NO! The accomodations really ruined a

The experience for a big hotel in a place like New Orleans exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, helpful and responsive. Parking was a bit pricey but it is scarce in that area so somewhat understandable. Unique elevator system! Very efficient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Suchef Think twice when you opted out of the daily cleaning service.
We gave up the daily cleaning service to conserve energy and waste. However the end doesn’t seem to justify the means. Yes, we had a $5.00 coupon daily. But we have to ask for supplies such as coffee, bottle water etc. When we did use the coupon at the hotel restaurant, service was sub-standard. It doesn't seem to be a good deal after all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by slchhonor Great Location and staff
I found the location of this hotel on this, my first visit to New Orleans, to be excellent. It is within easy walking distance of Harrah's Casino, the Riverwalk Mall, the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and many wonderful places to eat.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated the assistance of Kourtney and Blaine.
Our room was very comfortable. The air conditioning system was one of the best I have ever encountered in a hotel.
My only complaint about the hotel is that our room was in need of renovation. The furniture had scratches and showed its age, the shower head leaked at the connection, and the doors were in need of paint.
In spite of its flaws, I would recommend this hotel to those visiting New Orleans. The convenience of its location, the comfort of the rooms, and the outstanding staff outweigh the tired looking rooms.

The sales and banquest staff are great! Rooms are beautiful and clean. Great location to enjoy all NOLA has to offer. Restaurant and bar are not very well run and egregiously overpriced... $5.00 for a glass of iced tea! That's more expensive than NY City.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Donyell22 Everything was excellent except for the food
I have stayed at this property twice and both times I found the service to be good and the rooms to be excellent. The food, however, needs improvement. The Caesar salad had very little lettuce and the lettuce was brownish. The chicken was overcooked beyond belief.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tarzen Enjoyed staying at Sheraton New Orleans
From the time we arrived the staff were helpful and courteous. Unloading luggage and parking was simple with a lot of help from the staff. I enjoy working out everyday and the hotel exercise room was excellent. It had free weights which I always use and most hotels do not have them in their exercise rooms. The starbuck coffee in the room was a real treat. I made coffee every day in the room and there was always a sufficient supply of starbuck coffee to enjoy. My view from the 40th floor was nice and the room was quiet and comfortable. Pillows were great an my wife and I had a good night sleep every night. I rate the Sheraton New Orleans as excellent. The only change I would like to see is that I could change the channel on the TV in the exercise room. I like to watch Fox news and not CNN and I would like to have that choice if no one else is watching the TV.

Hotel has great features and is in a really good location,,, but the service is inconsistent. The bellmen are very friendly. I encountered two front desk staff . The first was very friendly and helpful, the secend was basically just doing her job. No smile.
I was directed to a desk which the staff thinks is the concierge, however when we arrived at the desk we were rudely informed that they were the tour desk NOT the concierge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tales2012 Consider the Elevators
The elevators in this property are the worst I have ever experienced. The system of not being able to select your floor when on the car is terrible. Whatever the computer is supposed to do, it does not work to control capacity. I almost missed my flight when I left the hotel as I had to let 4 cars pass me as they were all full. I finally had to take an elevator to the top floor just so I could have an empty car to go down on !

The location is great and the staff was very friendly/helpful. I only wish our room was not so close to elevators because you hear them running all night. The only other thing I would have preferred is a mini fridge, I guess I've become accustomed to those :)

The hotel is beautiful, my room was nice and clean. Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars because of the temporary water outage and the cold showers I had to take. I was staying there on business and Thursday morning on Sept. 13th I had no water at all and after waiting about 30 mins it came on but only cold water. On top of taking a cold shower I was late to my workshop. Friday morning I had water but no hot water again.

My husband and I (from Canada) stayed at your hotel from Dec. 1 - 5, 2012. The staff - in particular, Timilou W. at the Concierge desk - were SO kind, warm and helpful...I looked forward to coming to the desk with my questions! The room, bathroom and hallways were clean and tastefully decorated. We will happily recommend this hotel to our Canadian friends!
Thank you all for a wonderful experience!

Rated 4 out of 5 by BCooper Better than I expected
Given that I knew beforehand the hotel was undergoing major renovation, my experience far exceeded expectations. There was the usual construction related activity, but the staff addroitly adapted to daily operational changes and managed guest services very well. The renovation had no negative impact on the hotel and staff operational performance. The renovation interface with hotel management was well orchestrated.
