Rated 5 out of 5 by Corporate Excellent facility and staff
We stay at hotels 70 plus night a year and believe we had the best room in New Orleans during our stay. The views were amazing, the staff courteous, and the location is as you can guess impossible to beat.
The staff even made arangements for our very specialized car which is a challenge for any hotel much less one that is so busy. Many thanks for a great rest before the race.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dissatisfied35 This hotel has horrible staff service
We went during the Essence Music Festival July 2012. The hotel itself was fine (weird that it did not have a refrigerator or microwave), but otherwise it was fine. Staff service was horrible. We had reservations since January & still had to wait 2+ hours to get a room. We called for towels/washcloths one night & had to call back the next morning to even get them. It was just on & on issues.

Great Location. We were close to many attractions and we actually walked to most of them. Staff was friendly and very helpful concerning any of our questions or concerns. We had a particular request and staff member researched it and found a way to accommodate our request. Room was very nice with great view and appropriate amenities. I plan to bring my family back on my next trip/vacation

The place was shabby; there was construction, which I had not known about before booking; the staff was generally sullen, if adequate; the food from the restaurant (which I ordered to be sent up) not all that great and way overpriced as a result.
The whole "going green" thing makes no sense and seems like a way of cutting staff.

Room was nice and clean. The help was very good. Location was great. The cost for breakfast and parking were outrageous. The total for 2 breakfasts(no buffet) coffee, juice, 2 eggs and potatoes with tip was over $50 and parking for 3 nights, didn't use the car for 3 days was over $120. That's a total of $170 for parking and 2 breakfasts.

Rooms are dirty,
Check in staff is not friendly at all
Not what I expect from Sheraton...
Only good thing about my experience at this hotel was the location and the
bell staff was very accomodating..
I spoke with the front desk about different items four times and never got a smile or
hope you enjoy your stay from either of them
Recommend going elsewhere if you are staying in New Orleans

Great location if you like being in the heart of it all and all attactions closeby within walking distance.
Workers did remodeling all weekend long which was irritating, but they told us they may work the weekend, they just did not think they would since it was Memorial Day weekend.
Enjoyed the pool and service was great.
Would stay here in a heart beat if we go back to New Orleans.

Outrageous charges for valet parking and late checkout fees.
At a sponsored banquet, they ran out of vegetarian entrees and later missed dessert.
Sheets don't feel cotton, more like plastic. Mattress was very uncomfortable.
Starbucks coffee but with a Sheraton premium.

My second stay here, and it was as good as the first. You do need to know that the carpet in the halls and rooms is tired and overdue for replacement, but not so bad that I would stay elsewhere. Front desk staff is excellent, bar staff is average, bellmen are excellent.
I love the Starbucks in the room and in the lobby. Elevators take some getting used to, but I'm coming to like them.

No hot water for 8 nights even after two calls to the front desk to fix it (it wasn't frigid, just luke warm but hey, for $256/night, that's not ok).
No wireless internet in our room b/c we were too close to the elevators (which is fine but can't download Nook books without it for the plane ride home). The wired connection was super slow so if there's an emergency at work, tough luck.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Max33 Poor Staffing for check-in/out
Getting into the hotel was quite a hassle, but the departure was a nightmare. I feel it was due to low staffing and poor check-out procedures. However, the staff was always polite and accommodating throughout the week -- they went above and beyond the average service time and time again. Once the renovations are done, I would recommend the hotel if they increase their staff as well.

When I booked the hotel, I did not know what to expect, since I had never been to New Orleans. When we arrived I was impressed by the whole place. Even though there was construction the place still had very little issues. The best part was how close it is to Bourbon Street without being near the noise. Next time I come to New Orleans, this would be the hotel I will stay at.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RayB A great "no complaints" hotel
Everything either met or was above my expectations at this hotel. My only regret was only having two nights to stay. One additional benifit of this hotel is the rapid response of their elevators, I think this should be added to the list of expectations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ode2Joy check in time
With 1150 rooms, check in time for everyone is 3pm, people coming for the same event, don't you think staggered check in times would be prudent. The line on Canal Street trying to get into the parking area of the hotel was blocking traffic. The porters were going in between moving cars that were trying to jostle for position. But once we got checked in, life got good. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dan95126 Excellent location & property
Stayed here over New Years. Friendly staff. Only issue was that we tended to head out late in the morning after they'd gotten through most room's cleanings, and one day we got back at 3:30 and the room wasn't cleaned up yet. But quieter than hotels in the middle of the French Quarter, but a 5 minute walk to the action.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Barbara55 This hotel has no reliable Internet
I spent 5 days here and could never get on the Internet for more than 5 minutes at a time. I would call the front desk, they would transfer me to tech support, tech support would feed me a line about how they would take care of it, and that never happened. The only way I finally got reliable Internet was to beg for an ethernet connection and even that went down for an hour.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yoyi Hotel In remodel and Disorganized
I had previously reserved a room through my company's travel site. Upon arrival no rooms were available. The staff gave me assigned me a room. Once I reached the room and opened the door I found that the room was under construction (part of the wall between rooms was missing) since the hotel is being renovated. I understand that mistakes can be made. So when I went back to the front desk to ask for a different room, I was told that there were no rooms available and that I would be sent to a another nearby. The sherton hotel paid for the hotel room and my taxi to the hotel and back the next moring. I still did not have a room until almost noon the next day. If the hotel new that they had an oversold situation that they would give preferance to SPG members or at least contact to us that rooms are not available. I would certainly not recommend this hotel until they finish their renovation and maybe their service will improve

The hotel was undergoing construction while I was there. The construction began at 7 AM and continued till approx 5PM. This is New Orleans and everyone in the hotel could hear the construction no matter where you were in the hotel. After a night out in New Orleans, the last thing I wanted to hear was hammering and drills.
Also the staff was at times rude and not helpful.

I commend Monique who served us breakfast at the ground floor buffet. Most helpful!
Overall. very nice, but some quirks. No stand for the suitcases in the hotel room. Toilets uncomfortably low. No "please make up this room now" sign to hang outside the door. No one to help get the bags out of the taxi when we arrived around 8 pm.

Besides the location the Sheraton New Orleans is horrible. It was overbooked the 1st night, there was loud construction early every morning, and the pool is full of hair. After all this we were billed about five times what we owed and the issue is still unresolved as the hotel is very unresponsive. The hotel location is good but operatoins as bad as one can imagine.

Our room was located next to elevator which ran all hours of the night, front desk showed little concern for the problem saying no more rooms, vending machines not working, no ice makers, construction closing some entrances. I feel that the room rates did not meet the standards I expected to get at a Sheraton Hotel ,way over priced for the condition of the hotel

I had a conference for a week at this hotel and stayed here as well. The staff and room were excellent!!! I'm glad I had meetings during the day because there was construction going on in the room above me...which my fiance didn't care for but it got him up and sight seeing early in the day! :-) Would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting NOLA. Great times!
