Hotel is adequate for small numbers of guests just passing through, but not so good for conferences. Serious lack of readiness in main dining room. Staff unwilling to seat guests even thought seating available "because kitchen is behind." Multiple latches non-functional in ladies rooms near meeting areas. .

For the cost of this hotel the beds were hard as a rock. I travel frequently and I wish I had stayed somewhere cheaper that has a better bed. We ate the breakfast in one of their restruants. The service was terrible. For 17.00 I had to go hunt the waitress down to get refills and my check. Very Overpriced!

Rooms that had been booked 6 wks in advance were not ready at check-in time. Two no-smoking rooms had been book and one of the rooms was not a non-smoking room. There was no hot water to bathe or shower. Valet parking in a non-desirable area of Birmingham was full on the 2 occasions we tried to valet park.

Different room ,same problems as my last trip to this hotel.Sink was clogged up and HVAC filter was clogged up. Also had mold on the shower ceiling.Asked to speek to a manager, he did not call. I asked that no one come into the room unless we were there, so they were in the bathroom when my wife returned!

The front desk staff were excelent, the waiters/waitresses were very efficient, but I was disappointed that I could not get a bellman to load and take out my luggage, and then there was a 40 minute wait on the valets bringing the car for me to leave. I did not expect that having to pay $20.00 for parking!

My wife and I (and our kids) have really come to love this Sheraton. I've stayed here on business and personal "getaway" travel. The staff always goes over the top to make us feel at home. The breakfast buffet is tops and the facility is always clean, up to date and comfortable. Convenient location too.

The environment is so noisy, we can hear the talking from the neighbor room and the door slam sounds. And when I checked out the guy at the front desk charged me more than normal and let me wait there for about half hour there. Additional the swimming pool is still not open for about half year already.

The best thing about this hotel is the service.
The staff could not have been more helpful.
From helping me with my luggage to and ar-
ranging a shuttle to take me to the YMCA.
Unfortunately, I find the fact that the facilities like the pool that have not been available since January is unacceptable.

We had an excellent experience with our first stay at the Sheraton Birmingham! The staff went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. The room was outstanding! All of this on a concert night with 150 guests lining the lobby waiting to check-in! Thank you for a great experience! Can't wait to come back!

This property is conveniently located in the downtown area and is attached to the convention center. However, it is in need of being brought up to date. My room was not very comfortable nor inviting. We chose to be other places only to return to the room when we had to. It was a double that should have been a king. Two beds made the room cramped and you only had a small path to walk. A single king size bed would have made the room much more comfortable. No refrigerator was in the room of course, due to there was no room for one.. I am in doubt that this large property was sold out and I was told there was no way to switch to another room. When checking out, 200+ middle and high school students were in the lobby trying to check in and there was only 2 people working the front desks. It was approximately 11:00 am and the sign plainly says that check-in is at 3:00 p.m. I had to wait several minutes just to check out. NO sense of urgency was displayed to assist those who were checking out.

The hotel provided exceptional services, excellent room, excellent comfort and outstanding services. Mary and Yvonne at the front guest services did an outstanding job to make things really better. I will always cheerish staying at this hotel. Looking forward to its Club level opening and pool also.

We were attending a convention held in the hotel. We stayed for four nights and had an enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and had adequate space. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We also attended a couple of banquets and the food was much better than expected. We will be back next October.

The young lady who assisted with our check in was amazing, sorry I did not get her name. She has a great personality, very helpful and remembered us later in the evening, first class staff member. Also the gentleman out front were very helpful. Overall amazing staff, exceeded our expectations.

Great hotel connected to the convention center. We were there for a conference. Did not like the view of the first room we were assigned. Was offered another room, our new room faced the atrium wonderful view. Staff very nice. I would recommend this hotel and would stay at this location again.

Every staff member was warm and inviting except for one. She was not ugly just non-attentive to her task and certainly not warm. I am not a high need person but she was not what you want people to experience. It is my hope that she was just having a bad day. Everything else was exceptional!!!

We were unable to sleep due to the noise late at night. Guests were yelling and partying in the atrium lobby at 2:00 and 3:00 am. Everything echoes up to the rooms above. I understand that your hotel was hosting a convention/meeting of some type, but that is unacceptable for the other guests.

This is the best service you will get at any hotel. Every employee obviously sees every part of customer service as part of his or her job.
We were on the upper floor, and it was a bit warm, and the a/c never completely cooled our room. It wasn't terribly hot, but it wasn't very cool either.

The rooms were comfortable and service from staff was great but I didn't wish to have twice my actual bill charged to my credit cards. As of today (8/18/12)I am still waiting for the return of the excess charges. Too bad that you can't refund overcharges as quick as you charge for services.

The facility is nice overall. The staff is generally very pleasant. The rooms are clean and comfortable. But, as a Platinum, I am continually disappointed in this hotel. The weird thing is, I've brought the issues up more than once to no avail. For instance, I've stayed there the past two weeks. Out of 7 days, I received a newspaper at my room once. And, the gift shop where you can buy necessities, which is operated by a contractor, may just be closed for a solid hour during its normal operating hours. It was last Thursday from about 8:10pm. And then there was the bizarre incident two weeks back when I could not get hold of room service or guest services for at least 30 minutes. No matter what phone button I pushed, I was forwarded to my voicemail. (I had no messages.) Essentially, the hotel's 2nd and 3rd shifts seem to have a poor sense of customer service, while the day crew is much better. One other disappointment - the hotel's concierge club is permanently shut down and closed off. Pathetic.

Great place to stay if you are going to the convention center. The front desk staff was very professional and attentive to our needs. We also received great service at the sports bar and the food was also good. The valet workers went the extra mile to accommodate us.

This was a great place to stay especially if attending a conference in the building also. Everyone treats you nice and courteous. We never had to leave the hotel as it had everything from breakfast to supper. The meals were excellent and we were treated as if we were someone important.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was especially nice. We had a good meal at the sports bar. This is a hug complex soon it pays to listen carefully to directions to various areas of the hotel! Very nice facility!

1st: The shuttle service needs revamping/organization; Maybe have some specials at the eateries to offer items for young people at a special price, especially when you are bringing in 1,000 young persons. Update your elevators. Also, the rooms booked were not the rooms received

When I checked in the clerk asked if I wanted to participate in the "green" program. I declined and told her no, that I needed the room cleaned each day, and I especially needed towels every day.
Our room was not cleaned the first day and I had to ask twice for fresh towels.

Everything flowed smoothly during our stay for the event we were attending. We did not have any special requests to be met by the staff however they were not offered; several events were going on this weekend.
Overall The Sheraton met my expectations for a top quality hotel.

I liked the room that I stayed in. The Conceirge and the Valet were both very nice and very helpful. The lady that assisted me with my checkout was not very friendly and just did not seem to care that it was my first time in the hotel and that I was unfamiliar with the area.

While driving from west to east coast, I needed a place to stay for a night. Called SPG and they recommended this hotel because of its proximity to I-20. Staff was very helpful when I got turned around in downtown Birmingham (at midnight). Thanks again for the hospitality!

Even small hotels/motels provide refrigerators and microwaves in the room - I had to bring a cooler in order to have some special foods. The price of the room does not call for an extra payment for a fridge - and no microwave.
Same goes for providing free internet access.
