This is a great hotel located close to Munich Airport, but still very homey and comfortable. The food service was excellent and the entire staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

An excellent, quite retreat with the garden view room. Crisp clean linen and room. Well appointed bathroom ,soaps etc. Our lack of knowledge or direction from staff regarding how the room air conditioning functioned left us with a hot night with no air conditioning ( the room window must be closed for the air conditioning to work). No signs above control or information provided by staff. We were tired and late arriving so did not call room service as we anticipated having to move or have someone come to fix it. Lesson learned. One of the two mattresses in the room was unduly soft (obviously used more with one person visits). It should be replaced soon. Overall the experience was good with professional responsive staff. Ability to walk to the local farm community a plus.

We were surprised at the location, such a nice area, we took a nice leisure walk. Check in was great, we got there rather early, 10:30 am but the receptionist stated if we could wait for half an hour, she would have it ready. And true too words she did have it ready. And we certainly appreciated this. We had been driving from Austria and we were rather tired. Thank you for a great room and a great location.

In late April my wife and I stayed at the Sheriton Airport Hotel before embarking on a Danube River cruise. There were 3 things that stood out. First, we arrived early in the morning and the front desk and staff got us into our room well before normal check in. Second, I had a fall while in Munich and when I returned to the hotel the stafff was gracious enough to provide my wife with the first aid kit (I think we about emptied its contents!) and ice, and third, the food was excellent. Thank you for making our overnight stay a pleasant one.

The Sheraton Munich Airport was a wonderful surprise. It is very close to the airport but you'd never know it. Nestled in a small German town, you get the feeling you are in the country, miles from anyone. However, the hotel is a one stop shop. It offers a terrific restaurant, an indoor pool, a gym (small but good) and very comfortable rooms. One of the best features of the hotel was my room. It offered lots of space to work and had a "blackout" blind system which turned my room from day to night in seconds. I will be back!!!

Just 10 minutes by Taxi from Airport and quite convenient for Biz traveller. Even the hotel is very normal Sheraton but the price was unbeatable. The room was clean and well organized and the staff were very kind enough. We also enjoyed nice not German but "Bayerisch" Breakfast. Danke!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CanuckFromTdot Most comfortable beds ever!
For an airport hotel, the Sheraton Munich's location is a pleasant surprise. Rather than a soulless suburb, it's in a picturesque small town. It's very convenient, just a short drive to the airport, and I believe I saw shuttle buses available as well. The rooms were very comfortable, esp. the beds. I usually don't have a good night's sleep in hotels, but this one was a notable exception. The room included an iron and ironing board; you don't always get this in Europe.
My one suggestion for improvement has to do with the WiFi situation. They offer both paid WiFi anywhere in the hotel and free WiFi in the lobby. However, I was not able to access even the paid WiFi in my room, nor the free WiFi in the lobby. Staff had not encountered this problem with other guests. However, during this trip we stayed in 4 other hotels in different cities, and I had no problems accessing WiFi anywhere else.
Breakfast was not included in our advance-purchase, nonrefundable rate but we decided to pay for it. It was a nice, generous buffet. You have a choice of paying $14.95 for the cold buffet or $23.95 to include hot foods like eggs, sausages, etc. In our experience, the cold buffet was excellent.
I would come here again and would recommend this hotel to others for its combo of convenience / proximity to the airport and comfort / picturesque setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Iggy Great Accomodations and Food
Our stay was perfect from the start. We were picked up on time at the hotel bus stop at the Munich Airport and the driver was friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze with the staff suggesting we grab a snack at bar, since our arrival was after 11pm. The bartender was fabulous!! He was prompt with everyone's order and I have never seen a bar that was so clean. The stainless steel sparkled! On our second night, he even remembered the appetizer we had the night before. The rooms were neat and clean, and the king bed (2 twins), was large and wonderfully comfortable. Our room overlooked the tranquil garden. Quite a variety of TV channels were offered, along with internet connections. We had the best rest of our two week vacation at this hotel. The breakfast buffet is a bit pricy, but the the quality and variety of food more than made up for it. Great pretzel bread and sausages. Dining at the bar was very good off of the limited menu - try the french fries, and dinner in the restaurant was great. Had the weiner schnitzel and a salad entree. Both were very flavorful and tasty - the chef's personal style came through on each one. Try an ice cream dish for dessert as they use premium quality ice cream and chocolates! The staff was very helpful with our transportation questions we had for Munich, as the local train stations were closed in all major East-West runs for construction that weekend. The guidance they gave us was extremely helpful and minimized our switching of trains. Our last night we sat outside on the patio having drinks. The lager was superb. Being close to the airport you could hear all of the planes overhead. However, once you entered the hotel everything was quiet, as they did a great job with soundproofing. You would never know that you were close to the airport. I would stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Munich

Rated 4 out of 5 by Elizabeth50 Comfortable and easy access to airport via shuttle
I stayed in this hotel twice, once at the beginning of a trip after arriving in Germany from the USA and then again at the end of my trip just before I returned home. The staff were friendly overall. When I checked in after a long flight from the USA, it was morning and I could not get a room right away. So, the staff graciously let me place my bags in a storage room, gave me an internet access code and a table in the restaurant where I could work and eat until the room was ready. There was a lot to choose from for the breakfast buffet. The bedding was soft and comfy. The room was of a nice size and a convenient desk was present. It was very quiet in the room so that I could sleep off the jet lag once I could check in. Self-made coffee was also present in the room. I would definitely visit again.
The rooms could probably use more outlets near the desk for computer equipment and other electronic devices, but that is only a minor problem. There were plenty of outlets in the rest of the room. The hotel is located in a fairly remote area and thus there is no night life, but I'm not someone who wants that kind of thing, anyway. I just want a great restaurant, which is what is available in the hotel.
There was only one thing that was annoying. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the airport shuttle costs for children. I was traveling with my 13-year old son. Posted on the sign at the Munich airport at the shuttle stop was the cost of the shuttle per person per way (5 Euros). Also, posted was a note that kids under a certain age were free. I don't remember anymore if it was 15 or 18 years of age. I do remember distinctly that the age was clearly above my son's age of 13. When we arrived via shuttle at the hotel, I asked about the cost and after the staff consulted with each other they confirmed that the shuttle was free for my son. However, on our second stay, there was different staff at the front desk. When we checked in, I asked for tickets for the next morning for the shuttle back to the airport and got them. The staff also agreed that my son was free. When I checked out in the morning, there was yet another person at the desk, someone whom I had not seen before. When he asked about tickets for the shuttle, I mentioned that I had already gotten them and that I was told that my son was free. The staff person told me that I was wrong about the free part. He also said that he was adding another 5 Euros to my bill to account for my son's ticket. After I tried to explain the discussions with staff and the signage at the airport he told me that they were all wrong, he was right, and that the age limit was UNDER 12. (By the way, there was no mention of an age limit for a free ride at the hotel or online.) Frankly, I really don't care if I pay another 5 Euros or not for my son, but it was very disconcerting and uncomfortable for this staff person to suddenly negate all of the other people who had told me otherwise. I would suggest that they get their story straight about the age limit for the free rides to avoid the uncomfortable discussions like the one I had.

Although it was nice stay I want to point for few disappontements. 1. Your new tea machine does not work properly and I was waiting an hour ay 11 p:m to get hot water for tea. Unacceptable 2. Your breakfast compare to last few stays become really bad: selection is very poor, staff attention is bad, nobody offer coffe, food disappeared quickly without refill, there was no any pastreys except croassants. Manager attitude is very bad and not friendly, trying to explain difficulties in staff, and asking for waiting 20 min for food addition. This is not acceptable in airpot hotel. I was very disappointed and although would recommend this hotel but not with breakfast

Rated 4 out of 5 by Joe63 Very nice, warm and kind Bavarian atmosphere
The hotel has a very nice, warm and kind Bavarian atmosphere and is not too big to get lost. The staff is very friendly and as I'm staying there quite frequently, they make it very personnel since they know me. They just need to maintain and upgrade the facilities a bit more, like power sockets in the rooms for notebook and smartphone, bathroom should functioning better like power of the socket is a bit poor, lifts should have more intelligence these days. The hotel has his own shuttle service to/from the airport. I like to stay there and will continue to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OKCharlie Very friendly
All of the staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. One specific good idea was to allow people to take dinner prior to check-in when the queue to checkin was rather large due to a coach of people arriving at the same time. This showed fore-thought which was definitely appreciated by a number of tired travellers - including myself. Only negative point was that the pool wasn't open all day (I was unusual as I spent much of the day at the hotel awaiting colleagues) so hoped to swim around lunchtime, but the pool closed late morning and didn't open again until about 4pm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by FF61 Average at best....poor location
Rooms are small and have that "country cottage" feel but are very clean with everything you need for restful night.
In a strange location about 5-10 minute shuttle ride from airport. Almost in a warehouse/residential area with almost nothing around it. Restaurant didn't open until 6:00 PM, menu was limited and the prices inflated since they probably think they have you trapped there). However we did venture for a long walk found a nice Italian restaurant and ate their instead.
Also, they charge $5 Euro a person for the shuttle ride from airport to hotel. That should be complimentary, especially for Gold Starwood members.
Pool was highlight and quite a surprise....kids loved it. However if you use the sauna be prepared for naked old men.

I had stayed here a couple of years ago and a meeting in Munich brought me back. I was checked in swiftly by a polite man who upgraded me to a junior suite and gave me a 20% voucher for food and drinks. The bartender was very good, and kept making sure I had what I needed and nothing was too much trouble. Before retiring I booked my call for 6.45am as I was meeting a colleague at 7am the following morning. Woke the following morning at 7am no alarm call, called down no explanation and when I checked out it was just a sorry you did not get your call. I travel all over the world and this is NOT acceptable, I then discovered that Platinums do not get free cotinental breakfast! SO MORAL IS IF STAYING AT THIS HOTEL USE YOUR PHONE FOR AN ALARM CALL

Greeted with a friendly smile and a welcome back. Check-in was efficient even though it was very busy. complementary water in the room is a nice touch. choice of places to eat, depending on your appetite or preference for surroundings. Only down side is if you choose to take a taxi which i do the taxi drivers are very rood and i have mentioned this to the reception a few time, its not good for the hotels reputation to have screaming taxi drivers almost dump you out of the car, when you come from the airport, its a distance thing

I was pleasantly, very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, after any number of not so good last night in the country experiences. The place is pretty, evokes Germany, and the staff was very friendly. I watched the opening ceremonies of the winter Olympics from my seat in the bar, with a wonderful dinner serve to me there. The waitress event gave me the recipe to a fantastic beet salad. Great place to begin or end a conference or a vacation to Bavaria.

Allegra and both Managers on duty were exceptional. Bartender was remarkable, Christian the server great-just great people working at this hotel. I like this hotel after working in Europe for a few weeks and staying over night prior to departure home. There's an Italian restaurant within walking distance that's really good. Shuttle to the airport is super and both terminals are easy walking distance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DGIT74 Nice and clean, but unconvenient Wi-Fi connection
The hotel is nice and the rooms are very clean. Public areas are quite spacious. The restaurant is relatively good. Disadvantages: position in the middle of (almost) nowhere and, most of all, wi-fi is free of charge only in the lobby and very expensive in the rooms. Moreover in the lobby you have to input your name at every session and the session expires after 45 minutes. For such high level hotels in 2014 this is unexplainable.

Rated 4 out of 5 A few comments
I stay in this hotel many times. I like it a lot, especially because of the great staff!!!!!! Real fantastic people!!!!
The facilities are maybe less good. I have 2 main comments:
1. Internet connection is sometimes not good. I like to work before dinner and then during dinner like to watch news from Belgium (via video streaming). Sometimes the connection is so bad this does not work
2. Food. The last couple of years the quality of the restaurant has been deteriorted. To me it is not the standard I expect from Sheraton. I would like to see more refined dishes (no big hump of wet salad below some pieces of fish of meat) and a regular updated menu.
These two point sometime make me wonder if I should change hotel. Fortunately the staff at your hotel is so great that I like to stay. But please fix the issues!

The facility, friendliness of the staff, and proximity to the airport were excellent. We were please that the hotel restaurant was open for dinner at 11 pm, which was much appreciated after a long day. The major problem was the bed, which was far to soft, and was two double beds joined together as a king. It was uncomfortable for myself and my wife, who did not sleep well. In addition, the hair dryer was not powerful enough for a woman to dry her hair.

My husband and I just stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had really great service. The beds are wonderful at this hotel. We enjoyed the pool with it's surprising bubblers and jets. A bar in the pool area is really nice after a long day. There is also 3 saunas to choose from. Breakfast is good, but expensive. The restaurant is sub par. Eat somewhere else for lunch or dinner.
Don't worry about noise from the airport. It's really quiet.

Unlike any other Sheraton properties that I have stayed at - more of a resort than a hotel! Rooms are fully decorated with knotty pine and for those of us that demand it- the climate controls work!! Some things were closed due to the Christmas holiday but the staff was wonderful and the little farming community that surrounds it was fun to explore. See if you can find the full size US school buses!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1bigdog Best Sheraton I've Stayed at to date.
As this was just an over night between flights we were not expecting much. However, from check in to check out it exceed our expectations of Sheraton. I usually do not get Plat recognition (I just don't), and we received an upgraded Jr. Suite without asking. In addition free water and wi-fi in room and 20% off food and bev. Nothing like the Nuernberger sausage platter and a couple of cool Paulaner lagers on the front patio. Dinner experience was very very good - I had their "small buffet" for 15e. The 430am free continental breakfast was unique and appreciated when having an early flight out. As this hotel is only 4 miles from Munich flughafen the property is quiet and manages to pull off the Bavarian "feel." Major shout out and many thanks to Herr Christ in the dining room and Herr Feig in the front office for assisting us weary travelers. Dankeshoen!

I was put up here by an airline as a result of a flight delay. The staff were very prompt and helpful, and checkin was quick. Food, etc was nice, and the sauna was a nice touch for a weary traveler.
One thing: the signs on the airport shuttle make it seem as it it costs €5 to get to the hotel, but this fee is waived if you're staying there. This could be more clearly labeled.
