We found the hotel to be a bit dated, but the staff, the location and the cleanliness and quiet of our room more than made up for it. Every employee we encountered seemed happy with their job and made us feel welcome.
One point I must make is about the Restaurant. We had planned to eat away from the hotel but being hungry on arrival decided to have lunch there. It was fantastic and so we had all but one of our meals there during our 3 night stay. Every meal was excellent. We must give a special salute to the Manager, Alejandro and waiter Jesus who both went above and beyond to make our meals enjoyable. Also, want to say special thanks to Salvatore who drove us several times in the courtesy van for his willingness to share his knowledge about Tampa and its attractions.

and enjoyment. It was close to Ybor City and the cruise port plus it has a shuttle service available.

Was in town for a 4 night visit with a family member attending collage in Florida, Booked the Sheraton river walk thru AMEX travel and received a fantastic rate on the club floor. Staff was great, view and location very good. overall experience very good. Will make this my go to Tampa hotel over the next 4 years

I was greeted very friendly on first arriving. And from not being familiar with the area in deciding to travel just for leisure I had some questions about things to do in the area. Shawn was very helpful and recommended lots of different things to do. He also made my stay very enjoyable because he is just a warm and welcoming face to be serving the front desk. I am also in the business and wish all businesses could have people like this. Thank you.

I went to stay at this hotel with a girlfriend. She was flying in before me so I called and added her to the reservation a couple days prior - they said everything was good. She went to check in, had our confirmation number and they gave her lip saying there was nothing in her name. I called and said I wouldn't be there for a while and they said they did see her on the room and would let her up. Then I wanted it charged on my Platinum card and they charged hers...and then mine...and then took mine off but told us at the front desk it was on my card. Overall, kind of a hassle I'm not used to - I typically LOVE Sheratons!

This was ground zero for daughter's wedding weekend. Close to Oxford Exchange, Amilie Arena, the river walk and more. The rooms were nice but could use some refreshing as they appear slightly tired (but it doesn't distract from the facility). Staff were responsive to our requests including quick delivery of mini-fridges to rooms without one. The river view rooms provided wonderful views. The pool was pleasant. Outside seating for food and bar was welcome (just be careful if you move a table as our server was a little temperamental) the outside seating area connects you right to the river walk for ease of exploring the waterfront. Valet staff were friendly and helpful when we needed the car retrieved. I would stay here again.

We stayed for three nights while attending a conference with 20,000 people at the nearby convention center. The hotel was extremely understaffed, however, Melissa at the front desk really saved our stay. Despite having an extremely high demand on her as the only staff during our first evening she made sure everyone was taken care of in a timely and professional manner. The facilities and staffing clearly need work to support the one bright spot they have in Melissa.

I must commend all of the staff and management on my recent stay. At first I was upset at the out dated room but honestly this hotel makes up for it in detail and customer service. Every employee I was in contact with was beyond helpful and treated me like a queen, my guests included. Kudos to Cory in the bar, Alejandro at the desk and Kayleigh in room service. All excellent employees with superb customer service!!! I will absolutely be back !!

I was given a room with an adjoining door option (not at my request) and were able to very plainly hear all the conversations and children's noises coming from that room next door, into the late evening hours - 10:30 onward.
Rooms definitely need soundproofing! Not a restful night.

If busy takes a very long time for Valet parking long waits for parking when checking in or getting car for going out. Rooms in need of a serious reno.
Hotel in good locations downtown Tampa. For money paid good valve but needs some reno soon.

Convenient central location
Staff professionalism is excellent
Rooms are clean, updated, and bed is comfortable.
Rooms are located either on streetside or facing river. This is a downtown location on a major thoroughfare with non-stop traffic. We were given a room on streetside even though the hotel was not busy. I'm sure it is well understood how noisy the street side rooms are. I find it a great discourtesy not automatically being assigned a riverside room until there were none available. We were certainly not 'preferred' guest this stay.
Another item is the "Green Choice" program. We opted to forego room service by hanging the card outside our door only to learn that promo only qualifies starting on your second night. This is not explained anywhere except when you enquire at guest services. So even though we had no room service there was no benefit for it, including replenishing the coffee etc.

From the moment the Valet Staff open your car door, until the moment they close it for you on your way home, you are met with welcoming smiles from courteous Sheraton employees. Ours was a large group, but it felt like home for 3 days. Whenever we needed additional accommodations, a solution was offered. I would like to commend Josh in Valet for his upbeat attitude and helpfulness throughout my visit. He is a shining example of Customer Service. Having stayed here before in the 80's, it was exciting to be back and to enjoy all the sights and lights from the dining areas and outside areas.

I would like to give an accolate to Ms. Frances Johnson in housekeeping for being that outstanding worker that goes above and beyond duties. My stay was at the Sheraton Riverwalk for 2015 COGIC AIIMS Convention at Tampa Convention Center the week of July 29-July 4.
My daughter left her summer reading book at computer. Ms. Frances, personally called me back to make sure that the book was being returned to me in Tallahassee. She paid the shipping fee. Sheraton should be honored to have such an honest and outstanding individual on their staff. Many blessings to you Ms. Frances.

Our latest stay(s) revolved around the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Shuttle: great for getting to the game, but had to walk back twice (no pickups after 11 PM), which wasn't a huge problem as the hotel is within walking distance. Rec'd conflicting info from three different drivers regarding pickup and last call. To be on the safe side, call the hotel before 10:30 PM to assure you'll be picked up or plan on walking/getting a taxi. All the drivers were great.
Ashley, Raquel, Elisha (front desk), Brandon and Genesis (club lounge) were all fantastic during our stays.
This property is always accommodating regarding upgrades when they're available and they have always acknowledged our SPG status.
Housekeeping always makes sure we have fresh towels and water even though we generally participate in the "Make a Green Choice" program.
Joe in the bar is absolutely one of the best Starwood employees we've ever met. He genuinely enjoys his job and his kindness isn't forced; truly a good person. One night, he had already closed the bar when he saw us at the business center, recognizing us from a previous stay. Even though he was closed, done for the evening and on his way out, he spent time talking to us and later, went back to the bar and grabbed us a couple of cokes and some snacks; very atypical behavior and much appreciated!
Tip: Valet parking only, $18 a night; easily offset if you use the shuttle service.
This is a fantastic hotel and we're returning in August.

I checked in on Sunday, May 31, .I booked two rooms. Since I am in SPG gold, they upgraded me to the club level. Upon arrival, one of the room had a major water leak in the ceiling. We switched to another room. Later, we realized how nosy room number 617, 619 and 621 were since they were located just below the generator on The roof . We could not sleep from the noise. I think it is unacceptable that a guest doesn't sleep in a room he books at the hotel.
The following days I had to switch again to a different guest room far away from that.

This is my first time staying at a Sheraton. I have heard good things about Sheratons in general. For the cost of this hotel & all the extra hidden fees and amentities you must use...it was completely not worth it. They charged us twice at the bar. Once through the room and again with a separate credit card we used to pay with at the bar. We are still trying to get it fixed even though we pointed that out to them before we checked out. No one has been answering or returning calls. Another thing is the reason we stayed here was for my daughter's girl scout troop end of year trip with their hard earned money. The shuttle left them the one time and took forever to get them later and these are 6 & 7 year old girls. They messed up my reservation also so when I went to check in they said I had no room reserved under my name. They make you valet park only and it's $18 plus tax to park overnight. A rip off for how poor the service was at the hotel although the valet boys were the most reliable and diligent of all the staff there. The air in the room was way off from the reading....it was always feeling warm & humid in the room even if the temp was turned down low. No fridges or microwaves in the room. I thought that was pretty much standard these days especially for the cost per night for a room. This is majority of the issues...there's some other on the list that are smaller but I don't want to be writing all day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I ever stay here again. I have stayed at inexpensive hotels with better service than this. I expect more for the name (Sheraton) and reputation and price.

For a pretty and healthy start, walk the River Walk right out your back door. Visit the Tampa Museum up the street or walk to the Convention Center or Arena.. Excellent restaurant and an outdoor pool. with a nice view

this hotel was great .they have a lot of nice people like meko,corey,dan,scott,edgar and jose,plus people at the front desk ,they were the best the only problem I had was with 2 guys outside that were there to help and they did not do anything to help.when we first got there we had bags and they did nothing 2 help they said that they were going to have problems and when I went to the mall they opened door then walked away did not even helped .there was only 2 guys that did not even helped everyone else was great .I don't know there names but would remember what they looked like.MEKO,COREY,DAN,SCOTT,JOSE,AND EDGAR WAS THE BEST.we will be back july 3rd,we loved it there

We booked a room at the Sheraton Riverwalk for one night. Our daughter being a gymnast, we arrived in Tampa for the AAU State Gymnastics Meet that was held at the Convention Center. We experienced a series of issues that resulted in a terrible stay. Upon entering our room I noticed an unpleasant stain on one of the bed skirts. We decided to eat dinner at the hotel that evening, upon receiving our food I quickly realized that I could not eat the Chicken Caesar Salad. Only after my husband testing it for himself and confirming it was horrible we ended up returning it. I noticed on the kids menu breakfast started at 6:30am, which would of been perfect given the fact my daughter needed to be at the convention center to compete by 7:00a.m. The next morning my husband went down to the dining room around 6:45a.m. to get 1 small box of cereal and milk so our daughter could eat before competing. Only to be informed by the waitstaff woman who was present at that time that breakfast was not until 7:00a.m. (we had also been informed that the kids menu that stated breakfast was at 6:30am was outdated). My husband tried to explain to her we needed to be at the convention center by 7a.m. and that we would pay for the cereal but she did not want to hear that and just repeated that breakfast was at 7a.m.
I want to state that we were not requesting eggs or pancakes or even food for myself, husband or 6yr old son who was also in tow, we simply just wanted a box of cereal and to make sure my daughter was fed before her meet. Unfortunately, we had no other option but to leave for the competition without having fed her. It is heart wrenching when I had to hear my child's stomach growling and her saying to me "Mommy I'm hungry". It is for this reason alone, putting all other issues aside we will not return nor recommend Sheraton Riverwalk to anyone in the future.

This was my first stay at any Sheraton Hotel. I was in room 636. The room was nice. The hotel was nice. The hotels customer service was great. I was not happy with the hotels in room smoke detectors. While I was showering for evening before bed the smoke detector went off. I got out of the shower to see why. It ended up being from fog coming out of the bathroom. How odd. The smoke detector continued to go off 4 more times throughout the night. I eventually unplugged it and put it in the hallway for maintenance to collect. Throughout the night I could here smoke detectors in other rooms going off. The hotel was aware of this issue, but hasn't fixed the problem. If you value a good nights sleep, this isn't the hotel for you. I would not recommend this hotel.

It's a busy week in Tampa, so I had to go out of the norm and stay at the river walk sheraton. Never again... I spend 3 weeks/month on the road and what matters to me most is clean room, safe location, and a QUIET room. Not near an elevator/ice machine netted me room 1 above the valet pull in which quickly became room 2 which was immediately situated above the valet parking area. Most hotel personnel will make it right...not this one. Beware business travelers.

While most aspects of our stay were enjoyable, and there was a nice view from our hotel balcony overlooking the pool, the shower had a few issues. The water wouldn't stay directed to the showerhead, and the water was lukewarm, even on it's hottest setting. It seems like they need to upgrade the water systems. I heard other guests complain about the water temperature as well. Other aspects were nice enough.

Furniture needs updating, looked to be well worn. Plain basic room at $$$ prices. Drain in tub did not work well. Stood in water while showering. No fan in bathroom. Room right opposite elevator so there was loud talking and banging doors.
$18 +tax for valet only parking was ridiculous.
Redeeming feature: Starbucks coffee was complimentary. Staff friendly and helpful.
