Rated 4 out of 5 by Warfaerie Best Price for a Full Service hotel in the area
This Sheraton has a wonderful and responsive staff. The hotel is undergoing renovations, and the new design is very nice. It's still a work in progress, but for now you can get the best prices for a full service hotel in the DC north area.

This hotel has benefitted from a major renovation in the last few months - nearly everything is new and the place looks great. The staff were very friendly, especially Ganet in the Club Lounge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Aash Great staff - disapointing facility
I stayed at your hotel on April 29 for the night. I have to say, things were really worn down in the hotel, which was very disappointing.
However, the staff at your hotel could not have gone out of there way more to make me feel welcomed and taken care of. Of special note was Rem, at the front desk. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and went the extra mile to make sure everything was in order.
While the physical hotel was a disappointment, the staff—especially Rem, exceeded expectations and made the experience a good one.
Please pass my thanks to Rem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AT75 The "aton"
We were not quite sure what to expect when we pulled up the the "aton" as we called it because the sign was half lit on arrival. That in a nut shell would sum up the remainder of our stay. Everything was halfway...for instance in speaking with one of the engineers about a door lock problem I quized him about the renovations and he proudly said all the rooms had been renovated. Ok if you call putting in a new standup light and sitting chair and a coat of paint renovated then hats off to the most pathetic renovation of all time. Overall the hotel was dirty, the toilet seat, headboard, phones, nightstands and dresser desk combo was from the 1980's. The bathroom tile was not bad but the install job was 3rd rate. The thermostat in the room did not work and when I asked the engineer he said its probably the battery and went about his day. The only saving grace was the waitress in the restaurant Sunday night after our hockey game...She was extremely efficient and helpful and the food was good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ZZZZ Stayed there for wedding
My son's wedding was close by so most people stayed here. The food for our rehearsal dinner was great. The rooms were great. Easy to get to I-95. The front desk and service people were excellent. I especially want to mention Earl in the bar who did an excellnt job and made sure there was enough help on hand to manage the wild after wedding crowd.

Maybe the easiest 5 star hotel to get to off an interstate, yet situated in a wooded area that make you feel far from the busy freeway. Friendly staff, and great facilities.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unsatisfiedguest12 Unsanitary and very dirty rooms!!!
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We arrived to our room and found the bathroom partially cleaned--toilet was filthy, carpets were not vacuumed (when housekeeping was contacted, they admitted that "we didn't have time to vacuum because it was very busy last week."), and a king size bed with only one pillow. The hotel reception, though polite, did not follow through on any requests for service. We asked for our room to be cleaned three times before anyone was sent up. The housekeeping staff is clearly overworked and underpaid. Lobby is the only part of the hotel that is acceptable.

I had a very late check-in and was exhausted from traveling. I was greeted by a very friendly, upbeat, helpful gentleman named Walter V. He even encouraged me to take the last cookie, which was excellent. He provided such great service which was a relief. The hotel is in a great location, easy to get on and off the highway. My room was ok. My only issue was the shower area. It looked like the ceiling was going to cave in over the shower. Also the fixture around the shower head was not attached to the wall. Other then those two issues, I was happy with the amenities at the facility. Thank you.

When I made the reservation online I called and i verified that they had me down for a 11 o'clock check-in. Well I showed up at noon and there was no rooms available. The front desk clerk had an attitude and told me I would have to wait until 2pm. After I started to look for another hotel on my phone that's when he found me another room.
They are doing construction. There is no mention of this in the lobby. Lovely hearing hammering and sawing above your head when you are trying to get an afternoon nap.
Called down to the front desk to ask for carryout options and I was rudely told that I could order from room service. I told them that I did not want room service and asked what was in the area and I was put on hold for 10 minutes.
The room is great and spacious. Bed is fantastic. Customer service is awful. Pack patience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thumper Minor technological improvements needed
Stayed one night for business.
The Good: Got a very large studio suite. Very comfortable bed and clean room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was complimentary as a Gold, the lounge was closed. The service was pretty good.
Needs improvement: Only power plugs were near the closet and at the desk. The desk had two integrated plugs, but the the source wire was unplugged from the wall for some reason, as was the coffee maker, so neither worked initially. Had to crawl under the desk multiple times to get things plugged in appropriately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GAP2014 Great hotel
Kudos to your staff, they were all very welcoming, professional and pleasant.
The rooms were clean and a great nights sleep was had by my family. We woke to a great Sunday brunch and ready for travel.
After reading some negative reviews about this hotel I can refute them, this hotel is working to improve on any previous short coming and to maintain Sheraton"s good name.
Thank you Sheraton

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mikeb30 Sheraton College Park is ideal
My daughter was in town from Seattle for a National Basketball Tourney @ the Washington Convention Center and I found this hotel to be ideal... It's proximity to downtown D.C and the National park was ideal and the room rate per night was very attractive. The hotel's facility (room, fitness center, hotel staff) were very accommodating for my needs and I felt very comfortable. Next time I'm in D.C, I will definitely have the Sheraton College Park as my #1 choice to stay

This hotel has issues with fair treatment and the staff has no intergrity ... and when they are called out on their hick-ups your concerns are swept under their rugs. Rudest and non communication is a great existing problems but must also mention their internet being very slow or non existence. It has been very overwhelming to the point were we had a reservation but was told we did not we give the front desk supervisor a tangible copy and he was very rude and talked to us in a belittering way. Left two messages for the hotel GM after he did not respond the first time. Needs improvement: the furniture was very much used up and stains on the carpet thru out the room!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Traveller714 Promixity to I-95 - convenient but noisy
Hotel is located conveniently next to 95, but this also meant the highway noise level was high. I ran the air conditioner all night just to mask it. Amenities of the hotel were fine, loved the fridge/microwave/water/coffee pot in the room. The 8th floor hallway had a musty, unpleasant smell that made me question the cleanliness of carpet. BUT the room itself was spotless. Not much in the immediate area for meal choices or entertainment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SleeplessInSheraton2015 Conveniently located off i95 but...
I would recommend this hotel if the choices were between Super 8 and Motel 6
We stayed the night of January 10, 2015 and there was visible construction in the lobby
They advertised free Internet in the room but charged $9.00 to actually get Internet in the room. We were told that Free Internet was in the lobby only.
With 13 degree temperatures outside, the biggest problem in the room was, the heater. The heater switched from blowing hot air and cool air all night and the room never reached the level of warm and cozy. There was a breeze of cold air on the floor near the window.
I called the front desk, they said they would send someone to assist with the transfer to a new room. No one showed up so we packed our things and went to the front desk.
We were given a new room and experienced the same problem with the heating system; not only that, the new room didn't have a mini fridge so the food we were trying to preserve stayed out on the dresser. Thank goodness there was a cool draft coming from the window provided by the frigid 13 degree temperature outside.
The staff could have been more accommodating considering we had to change rooms. I suspect they were aware of the heating issue which is why they didn't follow up to make sure the problem had been resolved. There's no room for indifference when working in the hotel industry.
Maybe it's just me but I was expecting a somewhat classier experience which is why I chose the Sheraton above others.
If you made it this far in the review I must say... the room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
Perhaps if it wasn't such a cold night, our stay would have been much better. I don't think I was asking for too much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by QLS5674 Renovation needs to be disclosed
If the Hotel is being renovated it should state so on the web site when booking through SPG. I got there and the foyer was being redone, real disappointment for a frequent traveler. If you are going to be inconvenienced like this add some more points to your guest for the disappoinment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WayneW Central Location
This visit was not my first to the area or to this hotel. This is my preferred place to stay when visiting the MD/DC Metro area, especially for more than one day. It is centrally located allowing for access to DC via the Metro or to parts of Maryland by a short drive. For example, on this trip I had meetings as far away as Rockville, Frederick, Columbia, and Baltimore, as well as closer stops in College Park, Greenbelt, Silver Spring, and Laurel. The hotel is not new but it is always well kept, clean and comfortable and apparently renovated frequently. The restaurant on site is small but decent. No other options within walking distance but a lot of eating places within a 5 minute drive. Consistent in performance and a great value for the location.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mackles41 "average" hotel, but multiple in-room issues
Hotel was fine until you get to the room and try to do anything. I was in town for a family funeral, but had I been there for business I would have canceled the room and stayed elsewhere. It was a waste of my starpoints, for sure.
- The AC barely worked. Room never reached comfortable temp.
- The wifi barely worked, slow and spotty, and I think I actually had to pay for it.
- The cable came in and out even though the weather was perfect.
- There were stains in the carpets - some old and some looked new and never cleaned.
Again, had I stayed more than one night or had this been a business trip, I wouldn't have stayed. I will not stay there in the future and this hotel continues to muddy the sheraton brand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DCDC27 Decent hotel, don't expect much
I want to begin to say the staff is very friendly and responsive to all of our needs when we reported them. So that is good, but unfortunately the good stays there. The hardware is definitely underwhelming. The internet very slow so I literally had to go to McDonalds next door to do any meaningful business work on my laptop because the internet kept getting bugged down with idles and hick-ups. They gave me Club Lounge privileges which I appreciate very much. However, the good feeling quickly dissipated when the mini-fridge is constantly empty. I had to keep calling front desk to tell them that they are out of water, out of sodas, out of coffee cup covers, out of.... Room is very old.
So in terms of good staff, 5 stars. Everything else, 3 stars at best. The only reason I've stayed there this time is because it's very close to my business conference, and that will also be the only reason if I had to stay with them again next time should my business conference be close to them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by D1D3 This hotel needs quality control
Five orange chairs in lobby around computers were worn through to stuffing and stained, the security lock in my room#922 was broken off the door, the rug in my room had a 3 foot stain on it in front of the television, these items should have been noticed by cursory examination, room #922 is on the club floor I would think that those rooms would be kept up to a better minimum standard. Paint/wallpaper starting to peel off wall at window. Beds were comfortable. Not happy that I had to pay for wireless access. I do not at other chains of which I am a frequent visitor.
