Rated 5 out of 5 by Great One Night Layover We normally stay at the Sheraton Steamboat during ski season every year as a destination resort. However, last week on our way to Provo, Utah, we stayed at the Sheraton as an overnight stop. It was superb for this purpose - very easy access off US40, dog friendly which is important to us since we travel with our lab, and the same suberb service and rooms we have always loved at this hotel. Starwood members should keep this hotel in mind if you're traveling through Steamboat Springs and need a place to stop. July 21, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Great place to stay- EXCEPT closing weekend We have stayed at this location several times and it has been satisfactory. The one exception is that closing weekend of the mountain they will not so kindly kick you out of your room at noon sharp. Mind you skiing goes until 4, platinum late check-out is 4 and there are still concerts happening at the base of the mountain. This left us scrambling last year mid-day and we had to put out dog in the car instead of the comfortable hotel room. The guilt then had us leave town early and not stay to enjoy the concerts. I was really disappointed when I just called to see if this is the case again this year and it is. Steamboat Sheraton, PLEASE consider your guests and allow people to stay in their rooms until 4pm. Your tagline when you call is 'where you don't stay, you belong.' I have never felt less welcome at a Starwood property and am very disappointed that appears to be the case again. Would 4 more hours being open really be that difficult to arrange instead of kicking everyone out then not coming back until Monday to start the 5-week cleaning process? Our reservation is already made but I assure you we will not stay in this location again for closing weekend. The customer service is forgotten about come noon time on Sunday. April 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel, but rude staff I went with a group of my friends as we have every year for probably a decade. We love the Sheraton and the town of Steamboat Springs. This time; however, not only was the hot tub down and out, but they have hired a new guy by the name of Bob. Bob has some role with the security team, but his sole mission is to make sure there are no beers in the common areas of the hotel. So not only can't you relax with a cold one at the hot tub, but you cant be anywhere with a beer outside of your hotel room. Bob is rude and clearly high on his powerful role as Sheraton security. Bob told one guest to not come back and another to go back to Utah. Then told everyone to report him to his GM. I would call and ask if Bob is still working here before I would book at the Sheraton in Steamboat Springs, there are plenty of other resorts in the area to put up with him. January 22, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed with 80s Era Condo From the reservations process (which was so hurried I chose the wrong departure date and had to call back and change it - and then was not extended the extra day but rather given ANOTHER reservation - which caused our keys to be deactivated the last day, and other problems at check in) to the stay in this really dated condo, I was disappointed for the money. This was an over $500+ per night stay - and we were given a different condo than requested (I requested 2 rooms - one king and two queens) and we were given room 710 - facing the mountain (very nice view but no deck to enjoy it from) and it had three bedrooms with one of them being in a sort of attic. The decor was extremely dated. The DVD didn't work (so we were forced to purchase $16+ movies), lightbulbs in the fridge and throughout the condo were burned out, the microwave start button is so old you have to massage it to get it to go. The television is mounted so high you get neck strain from trying to watch. At checkin we weren't told that everything that would normally be in a book in the room was on the television - so we had to keep asking questions and finally one nice person told us to look on the television for all that information (which was actually incorrect - saying check out was 10am and it was really 11AM) - etc. Anyway - all in all it is a nice location on the mountain but the condo itself needs massive upgrade in functionality and decor. Rated 4 out of 5 by Mixed Feelings The room they first gave us was occupied. Thank goodness the bell hop opened the door, not us. They fixed it to a different room, which was fine. Appreciated the refrigerator. Found the parking to be very hard since we have a Toyota Sienna minivan. Your spaces were not designed for large vehicles August 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sheraton at Steamboat Springs Room and bathroom need some deep cleaning; the age of the hotel is beginning to show. Light bulbs in the large lamps in the stairways off from the lobby need to be replaced. Security bolt on the bedroom door was broken; the bottom portion was not connected. Hotel service engineer spent over 1 hour (successfully) working on the room door latch so that one didn't have to use brute force on the door handle (difficult for an elderlly person with arthritis) to open. Shower drain needs some general cleansing, so that one is not standing in 2-3" of water within 1 minute of starting the shower. July 29, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Romantic Weekend? My wife and I decided to stay here to get away and unwind a little. We didn't know, but the hotel had booked at least part of a junior la-cross team/tournament for the same weekend. The hotel was fine, nice hot tubs, good food, comfortable room. But our fellow guests were less than desirable. Throughout the lobby and everywhere outside were boys throwing and swinging la-cross sticks, and despite calling the front desk multiple times, we were treated to kids running up and down the halls screaming and banging on people's doors. Namely ours... Considering it's such a fine place; I'd still recommend it, but it would have been much more enjoyable for us had we been on a different floor or different wing. May 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of true TLC and professionalism Our family had a wonderful stay. There was immediate response to any needs expressed. The room was attractive, roomy, and had everything we needed. It was so quiet at night; we heard nothing and slept deeply, even though it was the week of the baseball tournaments. We absolutely loved the grounds with the family fun atmosphere; plenty of room to play frisbee, skateboard, and relax. Thanks for everything! August 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shuttle was priceless Loved the shuttle that provided transportation to and from concerts and resteraunts. The shuttle drivers took good care of us. Loved the complimentary water bottles in our room every day. The Green Program is very environmentally good. We did not need our room cleaned everyday and we appreciated the drink voucher. Rated 2 out of 5 by Classic bait and switch When getting my reservation I was quoted one price with no ability to cancel my reservation as it was for the same day. As I was driving I asked them to email me my confirmation number, I was quoted 179.00 or for a mountain view 199.00 plus a 20.00 resort charge I asked for the room with the view. Upon arrival I looked at my confirmation to look up the address, as I was told their were two Sheraton's in Steamboat, I saw that my room rate was now 289.00. When I asked the front desk about it they told me it was booked through the resort system or something to that affect, and their hands were tied, they suggested I call them direct next time when I asked them what the "direct number" was they gave it to me and I said as I showed them my phone log you mean this same one, They had no response or explanation as why it was diverted from them when trying to get the reservation. As for the room the fan didn't work, dirty glasses were out on the balcony, we couldn't even be sure if the towels, or linen were clean. It was bad enough that I didn't bother to talk to what ever manager was on duty, I'm contacting corporate. August 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by housekeeping and pet issues While I primarily stay at W and Westin properties, I had no idea Sheraton was open to pets. Dogs were constantly barking, even while my wife and I were trying to sleep (the problem was eventually addressed. The housekeeping, even though we were there for a very short stay, left quite a bit to be desired. Sugar and water (included in the Resort Fees) were not refreshed. The person also did not leave a breakfast order menu, which required a request to the front desk to get one. In general, for such a short stay, these were minor issues, but I will most likely check out staying in Aspen or Beaver Creek, instead of coming to Steamboat for my next ski trip. June 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by needs improvement I called down for extra towels since there were not enough in our room for the amount of people staying, and three hours later I had to call again. This hotel also needs to work on their no smoking in hotel rooms policy. The people staying next to us were always smoking on their balcony which restricted us from going out on to our patio. Calling down to the front desk for assistance with this problem resulted in nothing. No action was taken. July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't get enough As always this is an outstanding faciltiy with friendly staff that take care of your every whim and then some. Room are very lovely and walls are thick so you never have to worry about that baby crying in the next room because you can't hear it through those lovely walls. So many things to do for you, children and family - just fun all the way around. The atmosphere is very welcoming. In this hotel you and your family the most important thing to the staff. Rated 4 out of 5 by Light on Staffing But Great Stay We stayed at the Sheraton - Steamboat for 2 nights. My comments are as follows: Cons: - No fan in hotel room bathroom...thought this was mandatory/code. - Bed was fabulous (pillows, bedding, etc.) BUT I awoke with a back ache both mornings. Mattress? - No valet to greet us at arrival; confusing. Car in front of us was parked at front door so we pulled in behind it. My husband checked us in. I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for someone to assist with luggage. My husband came out and still no valet. He had to go back into the hotel to find one. - First night dinner on patio at Saddles at 5:30 started out great. Very nice server; good food. Started getting busy; she didn't offer dessert menu so we asked. We waited to get menu. We waited for her to rtn to take our dessert order. We then waited 45 minutes for dessert. It never came so we had to track down the restaurant manager and asked him to adjust our bill. He comped our meal and apologized which was very much appreciated and said he was sorry he hadn't staffed appropriately. It wasn't the server's fault; she was slammed. The delay affected our evening schedule. 2 hrs for dinner is unreasonable when it involves a salad and a cheeseburger plus dessert. - Upon approaching restaurant for breakfast both mornings there was a sign saying, "Please Wait to Be Seated". Both mornings nobody was there. The 1st time I ventured into the restaurant to find someone. The 2nd time we just went right in and sat down. It wasn't very busy; really no excuse. - Upon checkout, I wanted to view the bill and there was one couple in line ahead of me checking in and one associate at the front desk. I waited about 10 minutes for someone else to come out to help. This occurred because the AWESOME valet guy (I wish I got his name as he was very nice) saw me waiting and asked me what I needed and went in back to get another associate to assist me. (a manager) PROS: Awesome reservation agent who got us a nice room and a good deal. Thankyou. Nice hotel. Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. For it being almost "full" we didn't have any noise problems which was a pleasant surprise. We also liked the location close to the mountain and all the activities. Watching the mountain bikers was fun. SUMMARY: Appropriate staffing was an issue throughout our stay; otherwise very pleasant experience. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wedding Ceremony & Reception We stayed for a few days for our wedding, had massages and all the bridesmaids and flower girls had their hair done at the Rocky Mountain Day Spa in the Sheraton Resort, awesome massage and perfect hair!!! We had a beautiful ceremony on the golf course followed by a great reception in the Grand Ballroom. The food was terrific!! The staff always friendly and helpful!! Lisa and Don were a HUGE help throughout the entire planning and execution process of the event!! It was great!! I would definitly recommend this place for an event or just a vacation!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent time in Steamboat Springs My husband and I had a wonderful time in Steamboat not only because the weather was perfect, and the accommoations were out of this world, but also because the staff at the Sheraton was kind, friendly and very accommodating. One shuttle driver in particular, Backster, really stands out as a member of the Sheraton team that made a special impact on our stay at the resort. He loves what he does and he does it well. He is one of those individuals that really help boost a rating for an experience from ordinary to exceptional. February 21, 2013

When it was time for bed, I readied the pullout bed, only to discover the sheets were not changed/cleaned from the previous guests. Sheets were visibly dirty. In addition to that, the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty too. We expected more from the Sheraton. July 23, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location Everything was very nice, all the accommodations and restaurants were exceptional. The problem occurred when we went to E3 Chophouse for dinner and took the shuttle bus. We had the restaurant call at 10:45 pm to have the shuttle return and were told they would be there in 15 minutes. The restaurant was to inform us when they arrived. We decided to go our front at 11:05 pm and wait, by 11:10 pm we called and found out they claim they drove by twice and gave up, no one came in to check and it was well before the 15 min. time quote. We were then told we were on our own the service was stopped at 11:00 pm. We asked for the MOD and there was none! No MOD! We ended up taking a taxi back which we gave the driver a $20 bill for nine of us. Very unprofessional and unacceptable the way this aspect was handled and I still get a bad taste when I recall the event. Everything else was spot on and very nice. July 17, 2014
