I have had the pleasure to stay at this property several times this year. The entire staff, from the GM on down, are all highly professional, friendly and very accomodating to my needs.
The suite I was given was beyond expectations. The Club Lounge provided excellent morning and evening choices. The property location, on a river accross from a golf course, is very attractive. The fitness center contains all the equipment one could need. Even though the hotel is located in proximity to Miami Airport, we rarely heard any plane traffic !!
In addition, the restaurant, Rickenbecker, has an excellent menu and first rate food.
I look forwaed to many more visits.

The sales staff was disceptive and tried to procure a 2 nite deposit. I strongly objected and was told my reservations was for 3 nites not 4. When I checked in my card was charged over $700.00 due to a 4 nite stay that was never removed. Again I had to STRONGLY object before I got resolution. I was told I would get a sleeper for the 3rd person again deceiving, only 2 queen beds in the room. The phone didn't work and was never repaired during my stay. Bait and switch is what your sales team practices to make their sales goals and apparently the GM Jon approves of this deception. I will tell my story on all 5 of my Social Media sites.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Colin101 Staff were great, but mold in bath tile.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and appeared clean, as one must wonder how clean when MOLD is clearly visible in the bath/shower tile grout, and not just one or two section, but many. The bed was comfortable but as always the way the bed is made is for convenience for the hotel staff, sheets bottom and top as a standard but the duvet was not covered and we know the duvets do not get washed very often, they should at least put a cover on it and remove the cover for washing for the next customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SebastianKaren Great Service at Sheraton Miami Airport
We wanted to recognize the great service provided by Ernesto Diaz in assisting our family of 4 (incl. 2 children under 4) porting our several pieces of large luggage, patiently navigating the peak hour demand for elevators during morning check out, and then even bringing our car around and then loading all the luggage single handedly! Thank you, Ernesto!

Got into the room late and found out, that there is no shampoo nor bath gel provided. So I called the receptionist, who apologized for having forgotten to put one in the room. She told me she would send somebody up to bring me one. After half an hour I gave up and dropped dead to bed.

Managed to have enough disappointments in a one-night stay here: paying for parking at an airport hotel seems a bitter pill to swallow. Room was ok, didn't seem like a Platinum upgrade at all. Still, was quite comfortable and a good bad. A number of facilities were unavailable, like the Club Lounge, so a very basic breakfast buffet was offered (we're talking some pop tarts, filter coffee and bagels). Gym was also closed, so not much left in terms of facilities. The tiny pool could be appealing to kids, but anyone else would want to stay as little time as possible at this property, which is exactly what I did.

Check in person was not helpful and it seemed to me it pained her to help. Did not get the room I requested and she made no attempt to help. Room was dirty and on second day was not cleaned till very late in the day and still did not supply all items.

I knew I was in trouble when I went to check into the hotel. The check in area is filthy. The reception desk was cluttered with debris. The woman checking me in had a bad attitude.
The room I was given has not been updated since 1960. The sheets and bathroom were filthy. I called to speak to the manager and with a bad attitude said there is nothing he could do. This hotel really gives SPG a bad name!!!!!!

Stayed at the Sheraton for 3 nights in January. Hotel has a shuttle that departs/arrives to the airport every 15 ,minutes. There were not many cabs at the airport so you may have to wait a few minutes before one arrives. Cab fare to downtown ranges between $15-$20 one way Many guests are cruise ship people so be prepared for long lines and a crowded lobby on Sundays. front desk staff was young and inexperienced but were able to check me in at a normal speed and were very friendly. Plat status was recognized but I was not upgraded to a suite. Room was clean and comfortable, but looked a little dated. Had a billing problem but it was handled promptly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dewol Not Up To Starwood Standards
We stayed at the Miami Airport Sheraton for one night on our way back from the Caribbean. We had also stayed there on our trip to the Caribbean and had a good experience. This time we were told we had been upgraded to a superior room. When we reached our room the AC was not operating. We called maintenance and they opened up the access panel to the AC unit and turned it on. It apparently had been turned off for maintenance and never turned on. Once operating the thermostat did not adjust temperature. It seemed to be at the lowest (coolest) setting although the display changed when we moved the temp up and down. When we awoke the next morning we were freezing and nothing we did to the thermostat changed the cold air coming out. Also, the coffee maker and alarm clock were unplugged and several lamps were in haphazard locations. Finally, there was no hair dryer but fortunately my wife had her own and I don't have enough hair to matter. It appeared that this room was being worked on before our arrival and no one checked to see that the work had been completed. Since we checked out early the next morning we did not have to deal with getting everything corrected or changing to another room. We gave a detailed list off all the problems to the front desk before leaving so they could be addressed before another guest arrived.
We stay at Starwoods properties often and are SPG Gold so know this is not normal for Starwood properties but this was definitely a big disappointment.

The Hotel needs to improve the cleanliness. The room has a bad odor. The air extract in the bath does not work. The food is really expensive. Breakfast did not fulfill my expectations. They are not prepared to attend families traveling with children.

We stayed before and after our cruise. First check in was excellent! Felt like a special guest. Was told as a SPG member we were given a room with a golf course view. Felt we were treated as a special guest and the stay was wonderful. All the staff were great. Second check in was very different. Very matter of fact with little eye contact and no welcoming manner. The room was on the street side and a good deal of noise. All the staff we encountered were supper with the exception of the front desk person on the second visit. The first desk clerk I believe was Nicole R. She was outstanding each and every interaction.

After a 5 hour flight from Boston, we were very tired and this Sheraton more than met our needs for a welcoming place to stay overnight before going to the cruise port the next morning. We were given a free upgrade to the SPG floor with a nice view of the golf course and access to the club area for supper after we visited a local casino, and free breakfast in the nice Rickenbacker Restaurant. The staff was very kind and courteous to us. Our room was clean and comfortable. We would want to return to this hotel again if we are in the Miami area for another cruise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GeoG Excellent Hotel and Staff
I have stayed at this property multiple times while on business in the South Florida area. The htel is centrally located to the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area since the hotel is located near the airport and near highways. Yes, it is not on the beach, but while on business it works great. The hotel has an excellent fitness center and an excellent Club Room (for those of us with SPG status). The staff from the valet staff to room service to management are great and friendly. Which honestly is not standard practice any longer in many South Florida hotels (and yes I grew up in miami). verall this is a great property.

We stayed on a friday for one day before our cruise. Staff went out of their way to make everything perfect. Girl on front desk set us up beautifully. The concierge, bell boys, went out of their way to get us where we wanted to go. The breakfast we received with SPG was tops. I cant say enough good about the hotel. I dont know where these other people stayed who were unhappy, but our entire party of 7 loved it. My daughter even said she wished we were going back after the cruise as the beds and pillows were so much better than the cruise. Close to the airport and convenient for cruising.

Rated 2 out of 5 by gswk Not a very good experience.
The hotel lobby, restaurant and meeting facilities were average. My hotel room was clean but very old and in need of upgrading. There was no air circulating. I turned the fan on and it made so much noise, I started to check out in the middle of the night. I told the clerk this when I checked out. His response was "I'm sorry." No attempt to make amends was made or to even tell someone who could make amends. I deserved some compensation such as half off the room, more points, something.

Front desk stuff not paying attention to clients but congregating and laughing and letting clients wait for well over 10 minutes.
Twice had to go back downstairs as keys were not correctly programed.
Club on the 10th floor, most of the time UNattended and dirty. At breakfast time, no milk and they "forgot" to put on the coffee machine.

When we checked in our air conditioner wasn't working. We called down to the desk and within 10 minutes a maintenance man was there to fix it. He asked if we wanted a different room or to wait. We choose to wait and he didn't leave until it was up and working properly. Very impressed with the service. The staff at the front desk was friendly and had great recommendations for places to eat.

This was a pleasant hotel to stay in. The rooms were comfortable, especially the mattresses. It is close to the Airport and provides a free shuttle to and from the Airport. It is well located in Miami to major roads and to public transportation. We enjoyed the view, the pool, the resturant and the Preferred guest floor facilities.

Rated 3 out of 5 by miamipablo room door was entered late at night
Sunday night, while asleep, I heard my door room open. I had the safety latch and also some stuff blocking the door. the noise wakened me and I immediately called the front desk. Was told thee was no manager on duty but spoke with a woman. She said she would check into what happened but I never received a followup. She sent me new keys and two breakfast vouchers. No further followup nor extra SPG for mental anguish and loss of privacy.

I liked this hotel. Only the menu $ was expensive. But Breakfast was complimentary and it was an outstanding Sat. Brunch. They serve the very best French au gratin soup. Great airport or pre cruise hotel. Free shuttle to and from airport and $25 taxi or their shuttle to the port. Great poolside. Within 20 minutes of Miami attractions. Next to the golf course.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Campos64 A lot of inconvenience
Let me share with everyone the kind of service we’ve received from this hotel and their staff, from the day of our arrival to the day of our departure. I have reserved two rooms in this Hotel, two weeks before our arrival to see the Miami game with the following (two connected rooms one with King Bed and the other room with two queen-sized bed for our friends children. On the day of our arrival in Miami around noon I called the hotel to let them know that we will be checking in by 4:00pm, the staff that answered the phone assured me that the two rooms we’ve reserved are ready and will be waiting for us. But then, when we got there, a lady from the registration desk told us that only one room is ready and that the second room (connected to one room) should soon be ready so she gave us the keys for only one room. After about 30 minutes I called the front desk to see if the second room is ready, another lady talked to me with a different tone on her voice and said the room will not be ready for another 30 to 45 minutes, I was very unsatisfied at that moment so I asked her why then she said there is nothing she can do the guest that was staying on that room had checked out late so their just starting to clean the room. After 20 minutes my husband came out the room and so the cleaning lady just got done cleaning it so my friend went downstairs, and a guy said that the room is not ready and it should be ready by the time we get back from the game so she went back to the room .I’ve asked my husband to come with me down the front desk to talk to a manager about the whole thing. When we asked for a manager a Supervisor offered to talk to us and she’ll try to help us she said. We told her exactly what was happening and that we are very dissatisfied of all the staff that we talked to she apologized and asked us what she could do to ease our disappointment so we asked her to find if the room is ready and that because of all the delay that we should also have a late check out. She asked us what time we want to check out and we said 6:00pm if that’s possible she said yes and she also said the room is ready but, there are no 2 queen beds in any of the rooms, but they can and will provide us a bed (a folding bed which by the way, my friends back ached so bad the next day). So that was the end of our first day, The next day on our way to eat breakfast, I went to front desk just to make sure that we are checking out at 6:00pm, what a surprise when the lady I was talking said it was not entered into the system at all, that if we had checked out at six they would charge us a full day extra. Thank God I went back to check before it was too late. So everything is set, we went out, came back around 5pm , guess what? We were locked out! Our keys were not reprogrammed to check out by 6pm so my husband went down to the front desk wanted to talk to the manager once and for all. But the lady he was talking to giving him more excuses for what happened instead of calling the manager so my husband just had enough , he just asked the keys to be reprogrammed. Overall, we had a great time in Miami except for the services that we’ve had from this hotel and made us all feel not to come and check in to any Sheraton hotel ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Napoleon A nice stop next to the airport
As our flight arrived from Paris, France, we needed to rest one night before having our car location and drive thru Florida on the next day. So we enjoyed the free shuttle.between the airport and the Sheraton. We appreciated much the staff who welcome us. Compared to an other luxury hotel near this place we took when coming back, we preferred the Sheraton for many reasons : - there is somebody ready to help you at all times if you wish, - there are quiet restaurants in the place, the (included) breakfast was far better and good, - and at last less taxes, no surprise in the fare when checking out. Next time we'll be in Miami, we'll choose Sheraton.

Well after 49 nights at your different hotels, my first Platinum Level night was at your hotel. The welcome and the way your staff greeted me was fantastic. I was placed at the Members Floor level and was told by the receptionist that I can use the Guest Room. They were serving entrees and non alcoholic drinks. It was good.
In the morning, breakfast was included but by the time I got there almost all was gone and the staff said, nothing else was coming out.
Apart from that, the room was outstanding, great view to the city, awesome bed and pillows!
Hope to be able to continue staying at your facilities all around the world. Thanks

Rated 2 out of 5 by Damadovinho Bad luck or bad hotel?
Hotel staff was not friendly, hotel is located next to the airport, BUT very difficult access, did not feel secure at all. Rooms and parking lot have signs which says to lock everything and to not leave anything inside the car.
I was charged 4 US$ per day for package storage, but I did send 2 emails before to the hotel and guest services and was not advised. The packages contained visit cards, so the storage was more expensive than the cards.
Reception did not want to solve this problem and simply said that I had to talk with the bellmen.
Bellmen did not find my packages, but once I said I had the tracking number, suddenly the packages were there and arrived 10 days before.
