Rated 5 out of 5 by MFT2014 What a surprise
This hotel is close to the airport so my expectations were lowered. To my surprise I was treated to exception food and service that I didn't expect. From the courtesy suttle driver to check in to a beautiful meal it was nothing but surprising. I will make this my stop when I have a layover

Rated 1 out of 5 Stay at the Sheraton O'hara
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Very unpleasant experience and the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. And, it happend twice; New year's eve 2011 and 2009. Need a lot of improvement for hotel, management and staff. I have stayed at motels that were better and the staff more experienced! Don't stay there under any circumstances. The food is horrible, especially the buffet breakfast they wanted you to pay $20 which was not worth the soupy, powered eggs, stale bakery, hashbrowns were cold in the middle, bacon too well done, the juices and the fruit was rancid! Horrible experience the entire 3-day stay. Will never stay at this Sheraton again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Darchar Recent Upgrades has returned property to a prime airport location
Amazing what $8 or 9 million can do! I have been staying at this location the night prior to my departure flight for the last 15+ years and had watched the property as it showed signs of aging. About two years ago I had to go through some discomforts during a lengthy renovation process. The staff has always been first class even during the frustration of renovations. The end product now makes it all worth while, from the brightness to newly furnished rooms, fitness facilities and re-opened lounge. The staff now seems even more cheerful if that is possible. Still a couple small faux pauxs like no extension phone in bedroom and lack of easily accessible electric outlets near work desk. I'm sure they will correct shortly.
If you enjoy fine dining you are across the street from Nick's Fishmarket, or within walking distance of La Cave where you can not only enjoy a great steak but the owner will flambé an absolutely delicious cherries jubilee for you, to end your meal on a high. For a more casual meal the in-house restaurant is of average quality or you can enjoy Harry Carey’s across the road.
I now consider this mid range hotel as providing, 'The best value for your money in the O'hara airport area'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Vince7 A business hotel not designed for business people
let me first say the staff at the hotel are wonderful. But the "hardware" is terrible. Let me give you some examples.
1. As other reviewers have noted, there are no plugs next to the bed. In fact there are few places to plug in anything in the room. Given that the rooms were recently renovated, this seems to be a huge mistake in design and thoughtfulness for the customers.
2. The wireless internet is TERRIBLE. I mean its so bad, it was constantly dropping out. The only place it seems stable was in the loungeroom and not the bedroom.
3. Why can't I write more? Is there a word limit? GRRRRR....

Lindsey at Rosemont is such a great asset to this hotel. She always goes out of her way to make sure that everything is good during my stay which is almost every week. I think she should be recognized for her excellent customer service.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MCT1 Aged Hotel. Rooms and Gym Need Updates
The lobby and related restaurant and microsoft plug and play dining area is impressive and new. BUT, after that the rest of the facilities are old, aged and needs very serious resources dedicated. The room was dingy and the gym had a order of musty. The club lounge also requires updating. Staff was great, but the hotel is not up to the Sheraton standards. Sorry for the negative feedback.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tjanddad Taking a downturn
I have been staying at the Sheraton next to O'Hare for over a year now. Although I do not stay more than 9-10 times a year, I was shocked when my corporate rate increased from $139.00 to $149.00. I realize that rates increase, but to have this happen without a phone call or email was extremely troubling. When I arrived at 7:30 p.m. there were dirty dishes in from of my room door. I slid these out of the way so that I could enter my room. When I left the next morning, the dishes were moved to the door next to mine. I do not remember ever seeing dishes left in the hallway for more than 12 hours at a time.
The bathroom linens were stained, and it made me question the overall cleanliness of the room. The bed is still the most comfortable that I sleep on when I travel, but the room needs to improve if I am going to continue to stay, or send customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nandi This hotel is excellent for business meetings
The Hotel is close to the Chicago O'Hare Airport. It has excellent complementary shuttle service to the Airport every 20 minutes. The rooms have formal sitting area for the meetings, They are essentially mini suites and very comfortable. I would highly recommend it for business meetings near the airport. Additionally, there is CTA subway station (blue line) at the airport. Shuttle drops you right in front of the Station and you are in downtown Chicago Loop within 35 minutes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BettTraveler Good business hotel
Suites are spacious, but rather plain - beds are decent, if a little soft. Baths small, adequate but not great showerhead.
In the 11th floor lounge, there are free soft drinks and alcohol is available for purchase - no need to go out of your way for that. The breakfast in the lounge, however, is quite good. Not a lot of selection, but what is there is of excellent quality.

I have never stayed at a Sheraton and was apprehensive about the location that was near an airport.
Whoa! Knock my socks off! The staff-in particular- Carol and Narda made my stay unforgettable! Detail to needs and needs I wasn't even aware of were met! The room was outstanding and extremely comfortable. Eating at the hotel was outstanding as well. I'm a believer- great job Sheraton-I will be back again and again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by JAF1013 Not able to sleep all night due to heater & no Platinum breakfast offered
So my spouse and I stayed here 12/29 -12/30. We had settled in and after a while, late at nite of course, there was a loud sound coming from the wall. We didn't sleep much that night and did advise front desk while checking out. We were told we would get extra points for the inconvienience (don't remember the amount).
Also we asked about us being offered breakfast since I was a Platinum member and were told that was not included and we were not eligible. Worst service I've received at a Sheraton and am not happy. Will be contacting SPG corporate directly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tess470 Very spacious room.
We really liked the room with enough room to work and lounge and the bed was very comfortable. Always enjoy when a room has a separate sitting area. I was able to listen to a webinar while my husband watched tv with no problems. One thing I would suggest is a booklet explaining the hotel and the room. We had no idea there was a restaurant in the lobby until we stumbled on it while leaving to get a cab- to a restaurant. When the staff brought a little booklet it didn't cover much including area restaurants, who delivers, how to get the internet. It is also annoying to me that the internet isn't free in the room, makes it hard to do work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by icarus127 Perfect stay
My family stayed one night at the suite room on the club floor. Everything met what I expect as usual. Crib, Microwave and so on. Double ben and sofa bed are super comfy and the employee in the reception desk was exceptionally supportive and kind. The location is also goood. Nearby shopping area (Ohare airport fashion outlet) and airport.
I would definitely go back to this hotel to stay in Chicago as usual.

From check-in to check-out my overnight stay here was great. The staff were courteous and friendly. The rooms are gorgeous, finishes and textures are rich and warm; I wish I had more time just to spend in this great room. Staying as a prefered guest definitely payed off here, saving my $$$ on both wifi internet, breakfast (which was very good), and the hors devours. My only suggestion would be to have the same bottled beer in the lounge as in the bar downstairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cushions TLC extended by front desk staff
I arrived at the Sheraton after a 4 day road trip with my son from WA state, exhausted and emotional after finishing the trip in the midst of Chicago rush hour & experiencing a stressful blow up with my son, the driver, as we arrived. He continued on to DC & I flew home the next morning. Jurial (sp?) at the front desk noticed my state. After settled in, she sent me a hand written note of comfort along with a bowl of soup and bottle of water. Now that is outrageous service! Thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by EM76 Great location, hotel showing age
Great service, hotel was nicely decorated, loved the lounge on 11.
But the physical property has some problems. Paper-thin door to the bathroom that was warped and didn't close well. The door to the living room was also warped and it got stuck closed. Biggest problem: room was stuffy, and no matter how much we turned down thermostat, it didn't help.
So, no matter how nice everything else was, it couldn't overcome the uncomfortable room. Avoid rm 1026.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marko Would definitely come back.
Shuttle was waiting when I arrived at O'hare. Staff was helpful. Room was recently renovated and very nice. Full living area and separate bedroom. Club lounge was a nice place for a meeting with breakfast in the morning, Free beer and wine in the club would have been nice. No thermostat in the room and early noise from the renovation woke me up so I docked a star. Otherwise highly recommended, especially after the renovation is done.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SummerFun2013 Uncomfortable
The hotel and rooms are visually is nice. But we had issues with the air conditioning in the rooms. Had to move rooms after complaining. Which still didn't help other than be inconvienced in playing musical rooms. Didn't know that on site parking includes parking structure almost 2 blocks down on a NOT well lit street. Just a VERY uncomfortable stay while on a girls weekend vacation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CMB360 Just ok
This is an older property that could use some sound improvement. There was highway construction that was very audible from my room. I had bad timing on arrival where a large group was ahead of me. There was no delineation from the standard and Gold/Platinum line.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gja39 hotel nice Food AWFUL
I like the hotel but the Food is AWFUL eat next door at McDonalds it is 100 times better and I hate McDonalds.
Harry Carry and Nicks Fish House is great but expensive but food is so much better across the street at the Shoeless Joes and the Mom n Pop Restaurant. They need to invest in a better chef at the hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LineOutofDenmark Unscheduled Stop
I was never supposed to have needed a hotel in Chicago, however, when I - along with so many others in the last few weeks - found myself stranded in Chicago due to flight cancellations, I knew I'd need a place to stay, and just 30 minutes after making the decision to find a hotel, I had the room booked, grabbed a cab from the airport and was checked in. Doesn't get any faster than that. The room was awesome, spacious and clean, the restaurant provided a delicious dinner, and the staff was helpful and friendly.
However, I was not happy with my Wifi options. It was difficult and time consuming to log on, and after charging me for this service, the signal was not even strong enough for me to use it. I already do not think that I should be charged for Wifi - even the airport or my local Starbucks have better Internet than what I bought here. So when I pay for it, I expect it to be premium, and that was just not the case. If I needed Internet for business purposes, I would have had to bring my own hot-spot because what I was dealing with barely sufficed for social media or email checking. I need internet for my phone to work, and I was unable to call out - that just is not acceptable, even if the Wifi had been free. When asking staff, I was told to try the free Wifi in the lobby, which worked much better than what I had payed for in my room. But it strikes me as even more ridiculous that the free option surpassed a payed-for service!
In ALL other ways I way very happy with my stay, though, and I would certainly stay here again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MarkK Disappointing Stay - Trying other Sheratons
I am a regular at this property, my last stay was fraught with numerous issues, if I had not known better, I would have thought I was in a Seinfeld episode! I arrived and was promptly checked in, although no mention of being a platinum member nor was I asked about amenities. I was promptly provided a parking pass and my key to the room. When I arrived on my floor, the key was not activated. I had to go downstairs and had to wait in line as there was only one person on the desk and had to wait in line again to get my key activated. I proceeded to my room, once again to drop off my luggage and head to the lounge for some water bottles and then head downtown to a meeting. When I got to the lounge the key was not activated for the lounge and lo and behold, i had to go downstairs again to get this corrected. No apologies, no mention of correction, nothing and again I need to wait in line and asked for ID from the same person who served me prior!
I then headed to my car in the parking lot and proceeded to insert my ticket and again, not activated. I have to go stand in line again!! This time I had to wait 15-20 minutes and there was a line forming behind me and only one person at the desk!!
This was the worst experience I have ever had at this hotel and I am a fairly regular client staying at least 2-3 nights per week, twice a month. Each and every visit, I am asked if I have been at the property before.....it's embarrassing!
