Rated 3 out of 5 by A good option, overall. From the outside, Disney does a great job. When I entered my room and found rust on the iron, edges of the dresser chipped, grout in the bathroom that was dingy, and drawers that were just a bit "off" in slide, I have to say that for what the price per night was, left something to be desired. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel for Epcot fans Very nice hotel, lots of amenities and things to do from the hotel without needing a car. Rooms and beds very comfortable and clean. November 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Location Great location for Disney. Take the boat to Hollywood and Epcot or walk. Very convenient. Would stay any time I go to Disney and I have an annual Florida resident pass. November 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Convenient Location We were pleased with the location of The Dolphin to Disney parks, The Boardwalk, and miniature golf. We did not have a chance to visit the on site amenities, but they looked very inviting. The common areas (especially hallways) and bathrooms within the room are in need of renovation. Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst SPG property in the United States I'm Platinum with SPG, at 10:30 am we were told it would take a few minutes for our (2) rooms to be ready, it took 4 hours for the first room and about 6 for the second. Staff was rude. One of our rooms smelled moldy, issue was reported and we were told it's common and nothing was done to fix the problem. Room service trays littered the halls for days without being cleaned up. pool area was frequently closed to guests for private parties. Food in the restaurants was of poor quality and at top dollar. If this had been my first SPG property I would never stay at another one. As it is, I may cancel all my SPG reservations at other hotels for the rest of the year due to this extremely poor service. There is no excuse to treat guests the way we were treated, especially someone who has close to 50 stays this year with SPG! November 16, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel Stay - Nov 9 2014 Great hotel, food, staff. Hotel itself is a little dated inside (e.g. room) but overall very good. November 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love coming here We had a great time this weekend. Accommodations were perfect for my family which includes 2 very young children. As always, the hotel never feel crowded and the staff is very friendly and efficient. November 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Disney Favorite Love this hotel, referred by a friend and my family loves the access to disney and the boardwalk, great location. November 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Hotel Value at Disneyworld This is the only hotel my family will stay at in Walt Disney World. The overall design and decor is playful yet upscale. The rooms are light and airy, many featuring spectacular views of the surrounding area and parks. The enormous pool complex has something for everyone, including the huge grotto pool, two whirlpools, waterfall, two-story slide, lap pool, toddler pool and more. There are numerous restaurants on-site, including the charming Garden Grove, which features character dining with Goofy, Pluto, and sometimes Chip & Dale. However, unlike the noisy, crowded theme park meals, you’ll have plenty of time with the characters, who often come back to the table for a second visit . And the food is of much higher quality than your typical theme park fare. Yet despite all of the premium benefits and amenities, the rates are consistently lower than other WDW hotels of similar quality, and even other outside hotels. You simply cannot find a better hotel value at WDW than the Swan & Dolphin. October 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sheets were not changed for 9 days Worst Westin I ever stayed in.i travel a lot with my business. This is well below Westin standards. I spent $8,000 to stay here and would never return. Housekeeping sucks. 9days no one changes the sheets. Called front desk for services no one ever took care of my request. Went to Disney parks came back and all my keys were cleared could not get in my rooms. My family waited 30 min in hallway with a 2 yr old while the front desk made new keys. Clerk and front desk frankly just didn't care... Vitally should have some customer service training . If he worked for me I'd fire him. Save your money stay at a real Disney property May 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy Reservations The Dolphin reservations staff go to great lengths to find rooms and availability that fits our schedule and budget! November 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel.....easy access to Epcot! We love staying at the Dolphin for easy access to Epcot and the Boardwalk area! November 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel Stayed here for business, and it was a great hotel. It has a very convenient location to Epcot and the boardwalk and is nice enough that the family would be entertained all day at the hotel. The facilities were neat and clean and the staff were exceptionally attentive. November 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel needs some improvements. Hotel was good overall. However the bed was terrible. Toooo soft. November 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice hotel The room was very comfortable and the temperature was perfect along with the bed. I would gladly stay again. November 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by HouseKeeping I want to praise you on having such a great housekeeping staff. My room was always cleaned and refresh upon my return. These individuals are your unsung heros of your orgainization. November 9, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a Disney Hotel If you are expecting a Disney experience or even a 4 star Sheraton experience this is NOT the place to stay. First, only 4% of the 1500 rooms have a king bed, none have queens, so don't expect to get one, because you likely wont. Next, the room we did get after asking to have one NOT next to the elavator was right next to the elavator, we were told there was nothing they could do because of a conference. Next, the housekeeping service was terrible, the maid couldn't make the bed right, didn't vacume every day and didn't refil the coffee or sugar. Speaking of the elavators, they smell. Only good thing was the food in Shulas was top notch. October 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Location, but... This hotel is in a great location and has great facilities in terms of pool, beach, playground, interior, etc.. However, my satisfaction ends there. In the Gold/Platinum check in line the representative was clueless about any features of the hotel, and unable to answer any questions. It took approximately 20 minutes to get us checked in, with no special requests other than asking about upgrade availability. Second point, there is 0 Platinum recognition at this property. While the room might be slightly better than the base room, it is not an upgrade by any means. In addition, the only Platinum perk is they waive the resort charge. Two points on this...first, everything in the resort charge is provided free to Platinum's by every other property already, and second, I found out during our trip that the 3 other parties we were traveling with all had the resort charge waived as well, "for being valued SPG members". These parties were all preferred members only with no status in the program. Next, food is horribly overpriced throughout the property. I am familiar with hotel /resort food being at a premium, but it is taken to a new level here. The quick service cafeteria, Picabu, is extremely slow to make the situation worse. Lastly, the room was what I would consider moderately clean throughout the stay. While not poor, it was not great either. However, there was a mild smell in the room that we could not identify (in their defense I did not ask about either). On the last morning, we were looking under the beds when packing and found a paper coffee cup filled that was slowly leaking and also molded. It had at least been there for several nights before we arrived. This was not far under the bed, but right at the edge where someone pushing a vacuum would have hit, or casually looking under would have found it. So while the room presented okay, I have serious concerns about the details in the cleaning. December 30, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Senior Vice President Excellent accommodations. At checkout, no one at the desk and when they came they were glued to computers and no eye contact or telling those of us any expectations. Finally the bell hop helped me to I wasn't late for my awaiting shuttle. November 7, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Rooms need upgrade The Dolphin rooms are fine but nothing special. They definitely need an upgrade and beds should be queens (like the Swan) but they are doubles. Refrigerators are to small and should be larger (some people didn't ever get refrigerators so I'm not sure how that works so if you need one, request one. Most every chain hotel you stay in these days have those nice larger dorm size refridgerators so I'm not sure what the big deal is with a hotel of this caliber. Our door to the outside hall did not lock properly, my TV was considerably smaller then the one next door (I had 3 rooms), furniture was worn and dated. Not sure why so many hotels feel the need to put all their money into the lobby and not their rooms but I've seen it many times over. We arrived late and Picabu is the only 24 hour quick service open so we went down there to find something to eat but they had very little offerings. But thoughout our stay we ate at Blu Zoo, The Fountain and Il Mulino (at the Swan) and they were all excellent. The staff throughout the resort was mostly all friendly and helpful. The pool area was nice and they had enough pools for all needs, we were mostly at the kiddie pool. Family members who used the gym said it was adequate (at the time we stayed the gym was free). Every day housekeeping left us 2 bottles of complimentary water which is a nice touch. They actually came in very handy. The grounds and surrounding area are gorgeous and it's very conviently located between Epcot and Studios so just a boat ride (or walk) to either. I would posssible go back if I heard they updated the rooms or maybe I would try the Swan next time. One last thing to note is that they charge $16.00 a day to park. November 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great getaway! I recently stayed at the Dolphin for a convention I was attending in Orlando and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. I will definitely keep it in mind for my next vacation visit. November 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worst service ever at the Mediteranian restaurant We waited over 15 mins for drinks to be ordered and finally the hostess got them for us. We had no interaction with a waiter/waitress unless we approached them. We had to ask if we should just go to the buffer withour letting our server know. We had to ask for mild for our coffee. Our table place settings were rearranged while we were at tje biffet om a wau tjat was o,[pssob;e tp use the seating. We had toj ask for our bill from a wandering server. Finally had to take the bill to the front cashier ourselves to pay. We were never able to identify our server, it was jsut who we could catch on the fly. I would never recommend this plase to eat. This is the very first time I did not give a generous gratuity--I gave none!!! October 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better the second time I have stayed at this hotel twice and the Swan twice. This past visit I was actually pleased with my room. It was in a quiet spot and although not a fireworks view it had a view of the lagoon. The staff was very attentive and customer relations team took care of my requests (extra towels, quiet spot, balcony, etc.) . We celebrated our adult birthdays with a trip to Disney and the staff at the Dolphin went out of their way to make our trip memorable. I do think the hotel room furnishings are due for an update but it's not too bad....a bit scuffed up. The location was perfect for us as we prefer Hollywood and Epcot parks and with the Dolphin/ Swan you have your own ferry. This was a time-saver for us! And there are several restaurants in both hotels and you can walk to the Boardwalk area. We love the mouse at the park but not necessarily where we sleep. This is a Starwood property and if you are a Starwood fan then you will enjoy your stay. November 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This Hotel has excellent staffing Every staff member I met was very knowledgeable a willing to assist you in your needs. November 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good conference hotel The hotel is very nice and the staff is very good. However, I did not give the hotel the highest rating because the food is just okay and overpriced. Also, housekeeping left a used bar of soap in my shower from the previous guest that I found when I checked-in. November 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely beautiful and responsive to needs This was my first time staying at the Dolphin in Orlando, and found the "Dolphin/Swan Wine and Dine" event to be beyond my expectations. It was definitely first class in every way. I plan to return again for this wonderful affair. November 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel is great for conventions I had a very comfortable 3-night stay. I attended the 20th Annual OLC conference and the accommodations for both my room & the conference was very nice. There is a GREAT hidden gem of a restaurant on the bottom level called the Picabu Restaurant. The food is great and they give generous portions. You get your money's worth! The staff are kind and helpful, too. November 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Facility The only thing that I found a bit under excellent was the fact that the bottom sheet of one of the beds did not fit. It was w ay too small. November 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Some surprises Appears very elegant; but scuff marks on dresser drawers and peeling plastic on elevator rails ... hhhm. Unfortunate that at Dolpin, like at all Disney resorts food is SO expensive!! Staff however were excellent... friendly and VERY helpful!!! A definite plus. One night did not sleep well due to some type of what sounded like a generator noise. But LOVED the beautiful view of the night-time lights between Swan and Dolphin. October 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely conference hotel The Dolphin is located right behind EPCOT and offers excellent conference facilities. Bring a large coat, however, because the conference rooms are quite cold. November 2, 2014
