Rated 5 out of 5 Best Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale
I stayed in the fabulous room #269. It was absolutely beautiful. AWESOME ROOM. I will be back and I will want that room! The Mermaid show was also very awesome. Loved the beach service too. Great hotel right on the beach. Loved it.

We have been staying at this Sheraton for 20 years and it just keeps getting better. The staff is always so friendly and helpful; like Jessica Rhodes, the front desk manager.
The rooms are beautiful and the beach and pools are great. Every year we go back for more fun! Wow there's even a Mermaid show on Friday and Saturday nights! Great location. Not to be missed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Michael1324 The location is perfect - hotel needs work
Issues: Had to ask for extra towels 3 times - TV didn't work upon arrival - dresser draws wouldn't stay closed until I placed the top to the ice bucket underneath. The property and location are excellent but the hotel needs updating. We very much enjoyed the weekend but improvements are necessary.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sanaz This SHERATON is very basic
The room needs renovation: looks a bit old and rundown.
The housekeeping needs to do a better job especially in the bathroom that i felt was dirty, the shower had bunch of hair here and there- i didnt call up service because i was sharing the weekend with my boyfriend, i paid for the room with my points and didnt want to turn it into a big deal.
The staff at the beach was not always friendly: on my last day I showed up very early (8am) and i asked when the towel service would start - i was told 9am and when i asked again at 8:45am (the guys were there anyway, I thought I could get away with 2 towels!) the staff responded quiet rudely.
All in all a pleasant stay but the room did not meet my standards at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by robgra Excellent experience
I have been many times in this hotel. My last stay in general was very good as usual, but I perceived a great improvement in what I considered a weak point, that was reception desk. In this ocassion, I was received and recognized as a SPG member, and the times I had to ask something there the glentemen in charge were extremely cooperative and kind.
The hotel would be close to perfection it it had al international restaurant, and not one only dedicated to mexican food.
I am in a cruise now, and in my post cruise stay I will return to his hotel, because my experience was excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by alpatzy Area the hotel is in is perfect if your looking for Beach activities.
My wife and I were looking for a long weekend getaway and the Sheraton was just perfect for that. The staff is as good as it gets anywhere, our only gripe was food and drinks were a bit pricey.

My stay at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel was undoubtedly the best SPG experience I've had so far. Service, room comfort and hotel facilities were outstanding. Will come back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by avalonbob STILL THE BEST
I watched them build this hotel back in the 1950's when my uncle kept his boat in Bahia Mar Marina across A1A, which was a two lane road then. Few people visited South Florida during the summer months back then, but it is really the best time of the year to go, because that's when the ocean warms up. My Aunt used to say, "No self-respecting Floridian would go into the ocean before Memorial Day." When I was growing up, there were no hotels that matched The Yankee Clipper, and while there may be plenty now that imitate it, why settle for substitutes? Stay at the original, now The Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel, but always The Yankee Clipper to me. The service from the staff is what really makes the place, still the same as 60 years ago, and, of course, the location can't be beat. Charter boat fishing is available right across the road, but is best during cooler months.

Lovely interior decor, great beachfront location, parking not easy so use valet it's worth it. Good restaurant -Dos Caminos & Starbucks on site, convenient access to internet & printer when needed which is a plus! Beach Tower & South Tower are the preferred hotel room locations, as the others are older & smaller or further away from the pool & beach.............

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daisy2014 Friendly Helpful Staff
I found the staff to be helpful, friendly and accommodating. I was very pleased with my stay and I absolutely recommend this hotel. My one complaint would be that the pool was closed way to early for vacationers, kids were disappointed that they weren't able to swim past 9pm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tree9 Very poor accomodation
Travelling from Scotland and having recently stayed in sheraton Edinburgh I was disgusted and sorely disappointed with the standard of accommodation this hotel provided. The corridor to our room was scuffed and shabby and in need of a good clean. Our room was no better. The carpet faded, dirty and well worn matched the furniture. The walls, very outdated artexed were at the very least due a coat of paint. I did not dare look under the bed as I had already dusted the headboard. Lamps within the room were broken and bulbs not in working order. We have photographs to back up these claims. All in all an embarrassment to the good name of Sheraton!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sun14 Not your Normal Sheraton
The hotel location is excellent but unless you are a family with small children I would not recommend this hotel. I have now stayed here twice and both times it is teaming with screaming chldren. In the lobby, hallways and both pools. There is nowhere to lounge and have a quiet drink or meal. Also, the rooms are dated and therefore the phones, the air conditioning the shower head all had problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by fishfry Hotel staff and lack of communication.
Overall this hotel was in a great place and had clean rooms, only thing is the rooms were not family friendly. For being close to the beach the rooms had no mini fridges, no microwaves and it seemed every time you asked for something everyone expected a tip There was no WiFi in the rooms, not any type of continental breakfast .As much as my husband had to pay for the room you would think they could at least give you wifi.. There were also hidden charges that they don't tell you about upon checking in, so when you go to checkout you have all these hidden fees for things that they bill you for. They charged me for interned in my room and we didn't even use it. It's a pretty hotel but trust me you don't get what you pay for .

Rated 2 out of 5 by GlobalTravel Bad Experience
We are SPG Platinum members and stay in SPG hotels all over the world. This is, without a doubt, the worst SPG hotel we have ever visited.
We arrived at the hotel about 2:30 pm and had to wait over an hour just to get to the check-in desk. When we finally got to the front of the line, they did not have any rooms ready and the rooms we had reserved where not available at all. We had to wait another hour before we could get into our rooms.
We were traveling with our toddler children and au pair and had requested adjoining rooms so we could put the children to sleep in our room, but then hang out in the adjoining room until we were ready to go to sleep. They did not have our adjoining rooms, but were finally able to manage rooms next to each other. But I still had to sit in the hallway until my children went to sleep, which was uncomfortable.
The hotel restaurant did not open until later than our children's usual dinner time so we ate at the Beach Side Bar & Grill. Terrible food. Very greasy and not at all appetizing.
The next morning we did eat in the hotel restaurant. Very slow service. It was 30 minutes before they even took our orders.
The one recommendation I can make for this hotel is for the manager of the cleaning services. She saw how desperate we were to get into our rooms and stepped behind the desk to find out if our rooms were ready then brought us the keys. Thank goodness, otherwise it would have been yet another hour long wait to get to the front of the line. (Making for a total of 2 hours waiting around the lobby with tired, hungry toddlers instead of 3 hours.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by TheEmu Needs another renovation
If you're staying here solely because you want to be close to Fort Lauderdale beach, then this is a fantastic place to stay; otherwise, it leaves a lot to be desired. The entire hotel looks like it could use a $100 million renovation. It feels old and unkempt, and the staff was less than excited to be there.

I will never stay here again. I live in the area and have stayed at wonderful hotels between Fort Lauderdale and the Keys. No mini-bar, no mini-fridge, view was from across the street with no balcony, no opening windows and the windows were dirty which provided a blemished view. No complementary wine/champagne, paid $20 to park in the designated parking on top of the ridiculous rate. Ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs and the food was good but the staff didn't seem eager to seat us (hostess)...very disappointing overall and i will not be back nor will I recommend this facility to anyone I know.

I had expressed my sincere dissatisfaction with my stay there. Not only did we have trouble at the time of check in, but the entire trip was a disaster from start to finish. The service was hands down the WORST service I had ever experienced. On the 1st day, we waited 6 hours for a beach chair, followed by waiting over 2 hours for our lunch at the hotel. During this lunch, I made 4 separate requests to management to please close one of the umbrellas that my 65 year old mother was sitting under since it was freezing and she was literally shaking but we couldn’t move tables since no other ones were available. We finally paid the bill and left after not even receiving all of our food. After expressing my concern, the gentleman I was dealing with offered to send up to our room a basket of treats and would look into the situation(s) I had described to him. We never received the basket, even after calling down to the concierge multiple times over the next 2 days… it never showed up. I have to say that this really was the most absolutely disappointing experience - this hotel is an absolute disaster. I’m just really upset about the entire experience and have never been to such a poorly managed hotel.

We were just staying overnight while awaiting a flight home the next day, but I would definitely book this hotel if ever in the area again. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and made me feel valued as a guest. The valet was extremely helpful in getting us a cab. Our room was nice and a great price for being on the beach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christiana1983 Fun for the Young and the Young at Heart
We stayed during one of the many volleyball tournaments. The beach was overtaken by contestants. However, they were all very friendly and allowed us to walk right near the courts so we could get down to the water. The beach is wonderful! Plenty of sand, lots of beach chairs, and wildlife to boot.
The rooms were nice however the furnishings were a bit motel like. Don't get me wrong, they were new and in great condition but they did not have much of a decorative appeal. This could have been to obtain a beach appearance; I don't know. My friend's room though did not have a vanity. We found that odder than odd, but she made due. We, on the other hand, had a huge vanity! So, the rooms are different from one another.
There are four towers to the hotel and some are not connected. The beach tower, where we were staying, was one of those. We walked through a parking lot to get to our hotel room. This was fine except during an electrical storm. We called the front desk to find out if there were any options for covered transport but there weren't so we waited it out until the storm was at least 10 miles away and made a bolt for it.
The food was great! The restaurant is laid back, comfortable, and friendly. Just be prepared to spend a while as the focus is on quality and not getting you out the door.
The pool was wonderful! Windows to the wreck bar allow guests to see all swimmers. This is a unique touch that I really enjoyed. Also the pool is 8 feet deep. Plenty of room for lots of swimming. However, the area lacks a jacuzzi. To compensate, another organization has a deal with the hotel to allow guests to use theirs. It's right across the street. I did not take advantage of this. Additionally, there is a bean bag toss. I found out I have horrible aim! It's a lot of fun but be sure to wash your hands after. The bean bags are saturated with beer.
All in all, this was a good experience.

You have to park across the street from the hotel which is confusing to know where to go when you arrive becuase there are 2 Sheraton buildings one on each side of the road. Once you park you have walk across a sky walk lugging your belongings to check in. then go back across the skywalk to your room. I had an ocenview but couldnt see out the window. The room was so cold even when set at 80 it created condensation making impossible to enjoy the view.

Really nice rooms with various views, but beds are a little saggy and a/c in main building rooms are a little musty. Staff is very friendly, only the beachside waiters are a little slow. However, we love it to stay at the good old "Yankee Clipper" at regular intervals.
