The staff is great at the hotel, but the hotel does not hold up to the standards of a Sheraton branded hotel. Its quite old, small gym and old, only has 1 restaurant with a limited menu, Club lounge food is not the greatest and lounge is too small. Towels are old and worn and amenities in room are sparse.
Internet speed is a joke!! You think in a country like UAE who claims it self to be at the forefront of IT you can actually get some decent internet, but not at this hotel.
The hotel simply does not hold up to the Sheraton standards!

Services at reception ok, in some other areas of the hotel below expectations. I will not recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway, but definitely acceptable for a night if you are connecting via Dubai airport.

Prior to an early morning flight out of Dubai, I wanted to get some rest at the Sheraton Deira. Due to traffic I arrived late (approx 10pm) and all I wanted to do is get to bed.
I tried to check in with a girl at the reception, who had taken my passport... after a while she directed me to the "platinum reception desk", where I had to redo the check-in: not quite sure why.
After taking a while to finally get through the check-in process and explaining to the person that I am leaving just past midnight and wanted to get some rest, he told me that he got me an upgrade and proceeded to tell me all the benefits of the hotel, which I wouldn't be able to use, e.g. the pool and fitness facilities.
After finally explaining to him that I did not care, I was allowed to go to my room. The room itself was large. The condition was "acceptable" at best from what I am used to at cat. 4 Starwood hotels.
at this point I was unhappy, but the worst part was to follow: the room was next to the elevators and apparently right above the night club. Between the "elevator dings" and the bass from the club, sleeping wasn't easy at all!
I don't think I will be back to this hotel again.
on a positive note, based on my instructions, the hotel had received a parcel in my name. Thanks to Joe from Concierge for that! great service when compared to the rest of my stay

the hotel is close to the airport and is on the flight path.
Despite multiple glazing- the noise of the planes can be heard throughout the night.
Also the hotel houses a disco- for the first two nights i endured the loud music - which was intermittent but went on well after midnight- the third night i rang and complained. I did not know where the music was coming from- i was offered a room move- but this was at midnight. I should never have been given a room where the disco noise would intrude. Also 20% tax is expected on top of whatever rate is fixed.
The buffet breakfast was good.
Will not stay here again.

Extremely dissatisfied with hotel wifi, Star Studio, and Club Lounge variety. Hotel staffs from arrival all the way to departure are extremely polite and helpful. Hotel internet/wifi reliability was annoying although staff were concerned, attentive, and helpful. Club lounge food and drink variety did not compare with same level hotels. My worst experience was at Star Studio club where club management treated me disrespectfully in order to seat what seemed to be a 'preferred' customer at my table asking me to move impolitely and by force; a truly unfriendly attitude. I was assertive and refused of course which deterred them after all. That was however, my first and last time there, and first and last time at Sheraton Deira which allows such behavior to take place at their premises, knowingly or unknowingly; a clear and serious management system failure. A couple of more minor things: upon check-out, front desk was going to charge me for a pre-approved check-out. Apparently, it was was not well recorded in the system! For some reason, no drinking/wine glasses are kept in the room; the guest has to ask for them although there is an empty rack for that. Last, I was also going to be charged for missing items in the minibar which clearly was not checked prior to my check-in!! All hotel staffs are super; with management system failures, I'm concerned how they are treated...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vincos No Surprises, No Disappointments
While amongst the older SPG offerings in Dubai, this property is excellently maintained and has an interesting decor built around an enclosed Arabesque patio and, incongruously, French Rococo accents! Not my style but somehow it works. Check-in was OK, upgrade to Executive Suite was much appreciated but on a low floor and with an interior aspect on the enclosed patio.
The location is good for business but less so for shopping and leisure with the metro to the Malls and Marina a significant hike away - especially in the heat. I enjoyed the roof-top pool despite being directly under the flight path of an unending parade of planes.

There were a couple of problems I identified with the quality as follows:
1) I was allocated a non smoking room however the room smelt heavily of smoke. On my return I notice that all my clothes that were place in the wardrobes and not used during the visit also stink of smoke.
2) the hot water system in the hotel was not working well at all. Ended up having cold showers.
3) Food @ Terrace was very average and not to the level of food experience i have normally had at a Sheraton.
4) Pillow case need to be looked at - one of the ones in my room was not clean and had a stale smell.

My complete room (3rd floor) was rattling, shaking and had unbearably loud noise coming from the top floor disco (till 3 in the morning) which I had not been informed about, at check-in or at any other time)
The room itself was very nice and the staff was generally very courteous but the music completely ruined my night and as a result, the following morning.
If you're traveling for business and do early mornings, Avoid it.

good hotel for business travellers with truly 5 star service but still good price/quality ratio. close to airport and Deira offices but also to major roads out of the city. not advised for poolholiday as airplanes flying over are a bit noisy.

The staff at the Hotel need to be highly commended, From the time we arrived thru to our departure they were all so helpful, friendly and so courteous and they were always smileing. The hotel was great to stay in and was reasonably close to where we needed to go.

I have stayed at this hotel more 20 times over the years including 3-4 times over the last couple of months, the bathrooms needs a proper check, last time there was no hot water and this stay the shower was physically broken when I got into the room and the TV channels were not clear although maintenance tried to fix them with no luck, the maintenance guy even started to hit the TV with his hand hoping this approach would make it work, the check out day I got a call 11 AM from a a very rude receptionist that I cant stay a minute past 12 PM in the room.

I came with my family for leasure and the hotel managed to give us 3 rooms next to each other which was very comfortable for us during the whole stay. Front Desk staff are very helpful and friendly. I would like to thank Mr. Faisal and Yaseen and Arun who made up my stay memorable. Restaurant staff are also very helpful and they used to reserve us a big table for me and my family even though it was very busy.

Sure this hotel is not in a touristic area and it does not have a water front but it has some of the best staff I've seen in a hotel. The best thing about the staff, and management, in this hotel is they listen to the client. Not long ago I wrote a note to the manager complaining about an issue. I got an answer the day after and sure enough, the issue was solved. I tend to use this hotel a lot and I think a lot of people who discovered it, tend to do the same because I see a lot of familiar faces when I am there. People only return to a hotel because it is good.

I would not recommend this property, as they enjoy insulting SPG Gold guest (and no one has the decency to intervene, not even their General Manager or Front Office Manager). After complaining to SPG, they corrected the light which was hanging in my room, and it took them 3 days to get me a rubber mat in the bath tub). Even after staying 5 nights in this property, they did not correct the water pressure in the shower. They repeatedly kept arguing that the water pressure in the shower is as per SPG standards, which I don't agree (as I have been an SPG Elite tier member from over 6years now)

We stayed at Shearaton Deira for 6 nights when we visited Dubai in July/August 2013 with out two sons. We had asked for adjacent rooms, which they were not able to give us. Instead we were offered a complementary upgrade to two suites just opposite each other - excellent service! Breakfast was good and Iftar Buffet (we visited during Ramadan) was excellent. We used the hotel car for Airport pick-up and drop-off. This worked fine.
The hotel is within 5 min. walking distance to a 24/7-open Supermarket and 10 minutes to the metro.
All in all an excellent experience. If we go for a city hotel next time this could easily be our choice.

I dont know what rating this hotel is but I was definitely treated like a 5 star guest. From the pick up at the airport who waited an extra hour due to a delayed flight to the wonderful hotel staff. Mr Mahesh at reception was particularly awesome as he always had a solution to every request, great guy! The lady at the bar was always smiling even with her hands full, the concierge and the entire hotel staff were just wonderful. I would surely be here again. Thanks for a great 5nights and for sharing my new year with me.

This was a wonderful experience staying at the Sheraton Diera for two day at the end part of September. This is my second time staying there and it was an enjoyable experience. Very friendly and experience staff was there to assist as requested. The room was exceptional, easy to process in and out of the hotel. Food was excellent and quite a variety. Only shortcoming was that the bathroom should have had not-skid rubber mate inside of the tub and you tend to slip getting in and out of the tub when taking a shower. But, I did not contact anyone and request one to be brought to the room and i am sure they would have. Easy to use telephone and WiFi access,high speed and the room was well maintained by the staff. Recommend larger towels for us full figured guys in the spa area or at least have them available upon request. Other than that, I have an excellent visit and strongly would recommend this to my friends. I will use this hotel in my future travels through Dubai.

Can't really explain what happened during our stay @ this "Sheraton". It fees like this hotel was never really certified as a Sheraton brand hotel.
The location: Couldn't be any worse. Right under the DXB south / west runway lies this hotel. No matter where you stay in the hotel, you can hear the noise of the airplanes taking off (not even landing, which is smoother).
The staff: Recognition of Platinum level was minimal with an 'upgrade' to a suite which is basically a regular room with a divider.
Club services: Sub-par with very limited breakfast availability and food which is not fresh.
Internet connection: limited to 3 devices which seems to be the standard at the Dubai hotels, but non of them actually connected. Signal lost in the 5th floor.
Service: After calling for help with the internet and not getting anyone who could help us, we gave up. At check-out no one asked about our experience but instead tried to rush us out.
The night-shift supervisor kept smiling even when I shared with him my disappointment and didn't really seem to a) care, b) follow the logic of paying almost $200 a night of which I couldn't sleep more than an hour due to airplane traffic
Just one big disappointment. Be warned.

Probably the best hotel we have stayed at in our travels around the world over many years. The service, room preparation and cleanliness was 1st class. The staff were extremely friendly and frequently asked if everything was to our satisfaction. 10 out of 10 for customer attention.
