I tried the Sheraton for a second time, after a very disappointing stay in the summer. The location and pool is wonder however as usual the room was a disappointment, I had booked a King suite and was given the worst one in the hotel. My room had an ice machine to the right and an emergency exit to the left. The employee who checked us out was helpful and understanding, however the GM could use some customer service training.

To celebrate my wifes 40th birthday, we decided to stay downtown for a couples weekend away from the kids. I confirmed a city view king room and when I checked in the room had one double bed. When I called the front desk, i was told the hotel was overbooked and I would have to wait until the following day to move. The room we were moved to was a king, but overlooking the construction of city hall. The room was in good shape, but there were a few things that i noticed ie. curtains were ripped in places, the walls had smudges, and the furniture was dusty.
In addition, there was an outage of the phones and internet service and the icemaker and vending machines on the floor were out of order.
I have stayed at Sheraton hotels in various cities for business and have been uniformly pleased, it was unfortunate that the stay for my wifes birthday did not measure up.

On arrival to the hotel the reception was great, after checking in I then went to my room, settled, relaxed then set off to have a shower, I then found the bath tub full of hair...not just one, quite a few, soap dish etc. These things happen, not a big deal. The hotel staff was more than accommodating. I was moved to another room after I packed up all of my belongings. After inspecting my new room I found it was very clean, The room was pretty cool (temperature) so after spending much time trying to adjust the temperature in the room I came to the realization "NO HEAT", I contacted the front desk, again they were trying to accommodate me as best as they could, I expected to be moved to a room with operational heat..NOPE....They provided me with a space heater. I had one of the most uncomfortable stays in a hotel that I can remember. The next morning I checked out, again the staff was great, but I felt like even though I got a great deal on the room, and I was provided with enough points so I was able to stay at a Sheraton free (this was the last thing I wanted at that moment was to stay at a Sheraton), I felt like the hotel had misrepresented itself, I felt cheated, not only out of the few dollars, but cheated out of an enjoyable stay that I had expected to have in Toronto. I researched about the heat in this hotel and found this is a common occurrence, so it’s not as if this was a surprise to anyone, the hotel staff knows they are giving inadequate rooms to their guests.

Once again a great event at a wonderful hotel at the Centre of everything in Toronto. My wife and I were Very satisfied.
My only issue is the cost of Valet Parking at $40 per night but this is a reality in a large Metropolitan City.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AONEILL Convienent location, overzealous service
I stay frequently at this hotel for business. Normally, the rooms are clean, the staff excellent. Recently however, I have had two stays in which the room required additional cleaning. I brought these to the hotel's attention each time & it was cleaned. My complaint triggered a over zealous responses: many intrusive phone calls to "check on me" and a bottle of wine delivered to my room while the Do Not Distrub sign was on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jake57 Nice hotel with lots of amenities
We stay at the Sheraton Centre every time we go to the boat show in January. The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the Boat Show.
We enjoy the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub as well as the accessibility to blocks and blocks of downtown shopping (without having to go outside).
Getting the Club room, which is a small additional cost is really worth it for breakfast in the morning and h'orderves in the early evening.

we were greeted with a disdainful-"are you sure you're a gold member? "-at the gold and platinum desk by a long time employee with an attitude. a greeting we never expected at a sheraton property.
we wre given a very nice room on the 23rd floor overlooking city hall square. we soon discovered that this room had no heat and the maintenance people were too busy with a water leak and the front desk would not answer the phone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by bloom1288 hotel is in good location but...
We stayed The night of Friday June 7th, 2013 to Saturday June 8th, 2013. The Sheraton Centre Hotel is in a great location in Toronto, we enjoyed our night spent downtown for a decent price. Yet, the spa water was foggy and it was more like a large moderately warm bath tub. As well as, some construction that woke us up early Saturday morning that we were not impressed with.
I will stay again at the Sheraton resorts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mike Refurbishing Traders Bar
The long awaited renovations to the lobby bar is a significant disappointment. It appears the designer had no understanding of the ambiance of Traders or the logistics of running a busy lobby bar. The former atmosphere is lost, there is very limited access to the bar itself and much space is wasted. That appears not to matter much though, because it looks like many patrons are now going elsewhere.
A real disappointment!!

A good experience over-all. There was a loud pipe noise in our room, but the staff moved us to a quiet one as soon as we called to complain. We were given buffet breakfast vouchers as an apology. The pool and gym area were great and the room was comfortable. We have stayed here often and have always been compensated for anything that wasn't acceptable. Location is central to everything. We will definitely stay here again.

We tried this holiday as a result of our daughter`s suggestion for a `March Break``. We seldom venture into the city center anymore though familiar with the city. Response at all venues involved was exactly as promised plus a friendly greeting wherever we went. Hotel, theater and restaurant experiences most enjoyable and we`re already praising the deal to familly and friends. Thank you and hope to repeat this soon again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sami29 Clean comfy room. Lacking in WiFi
Very very spotty WiFi. I was there for a conference, and many of my colleagues were not able to get adequate WiFi reception in their rooms. I kept having to sign on even in the conference center multiple times a day.
The restaurant was good for breakfast but very pricey for what you got. The room was very clean and comfortable, but I don't think I will be back. There are so many better options when staying in Toronto.

My wife and I keep returning to Toronto and the Sheraton and it's wonderful staff are a big part of our holiday. From House keeping to Club Lounge to Front desk all staff are very helpful and polite. If we could mention Brian and Steve on the Front Desk and Bless and John in the Club Lounge as particularly kind to my wife and I. We will hopefully have many more visits, indeed our Fall visit is in the planning stage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kunion Awful 4 day stay
Had fire alarms in the middle of 2 different nights followed by PA system addresses for over an hour each time. This was all due to a dirty sprinkler head in the concourse area and totally preventable.
Despite being on the 17th floor, it sounded like we were right outside on the street. The sound proofing to outside and between rooms was nil. Did not sleep for 4 nights due to others partying, sirens, bell clock tower etc

Our 1st Anniversary/mini-honeymoon was a wonderful experience. The staff were warm and friendly, the atmosphere of the hotel was lively and full of great energy. Our room was clean and comfortable with a magnificent view of downtown Toronto. All the sights and attractions were close by and transit was easily accessible. The outdoor swimming pool with lounge area was fabulous as were the waterfalls and gardens. Thank you

The Hotels location was perfect for me, as a senior woman traveling alone for Hospital visits to St. Mikes. and the Princess Margaret .The front desk staff were more than helpfull arranging boarding passes for my retun flight after my stay.Having choices of resturants within the Hotel was also welcoming. The added bouns was the shuttle services that came to the front door every half hour to both airports. Thanks again.

excellent staff greeting upon arrival. Front desk service was exceptional. The whole day we stayed at the hotel and interaction with staff was exceptional. Enjoyed the pool and view from the 43rd floor. Will be back and would recommend to family/friends visiting Toronto. Room on 25th floor blew us away when we entered. Thanks for a great memory of Aug 29th.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Marsh11972 Great location with a bad view
The location of this hotel is great - practically close to a mall and lots of stores, and public transportation.
I often travel for work and stayed in many hotels throughout the world. Our stay at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel was for pleasure.
When I checked in I asked the front desk clerk for higher
rooms to get better views, but unfortunately the rooms he reserved for us were in 19rd floor with a very bad view.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Treadstone Beautiful lobby, unkept room
Upon arrival I was greeted by a beautiful lobby with lots of seating and friendly staff. However once I was booked in to my room I was disappointed to find the following, black smudges on white towels, long black hairs in the bath tub, a burnt light bulb in the washroom and a sunflower seed on the bed. I would think that this doesn't normally happen. However, it must be noted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by crschlieve Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in...
This is the worst starwood preferred hotel I have ever stayed at. Dingy rooms, out-dated. Our bath tub and shower had sand in the bottom even after we tried flushing it out...seemed to be coming from the water source itself. Even the water had a brown tinge to it. Front desk staff were not helpful and often rude. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. A complete waste of money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by itravel23 Inconsistent staff service, outdated room
I've been staying here about over a year pretty much on weekly basis - but I would not recommend this hotel unless you absolutely need to stay in a central location with the easy access to the path. My reason being is inconsistent service and outdated room.
I have met some amazing staff - some front desk staff (Ronnie, Max to name a couple), and the Club Lounge staff are very friendly, accommodating, and quick at tackling any problems.
However, I've noticed more and more of inconsistencies in the front desk staff - they tell conflicting information and all have very different ways of dealing with the same problem.
There were times when I was missing my green choice points despite already having that option on my reservation & even providing my vouchers during check out. One staff would apologize and put the points in. When it happened again, another front desk staff told me she needs to check with housekeeping/her manager and "get back to me", which of course did not happen and I needed to ask again...and again until I got to someone competent (or who somewhat cares) to make it happen.
Or I'd get told the late checkout is not available on my check out date by one staff, and I'd hear from my colleague who's also Platinum and checking out on the same day that he's getting the late check out.
I know this is a big hotel - but I never know what to expect from the front desk staff and feel very very hesitant to ask for anything when I see unfamiliar faces there (Some thoughts running through my head: how long would it take this time for my request? Will I have to argue with this staff? Wil I have to follow up multiple times?) I don't think that's a good thing when it comes to SERVICE and HOSPITALITY industry.
Also..the room. The smallest bathroom countertop I've ever seen. Things would literally fall into the toilet if you make one bad movement. This is same for standard or club or jacuzzi suite rooms. Generally the room feels old and not as clean as I've seen in other Sheraton hotels.
Well, this hotel seems to be sold out most of the time anyway and probably have no plans to improve customer service or renovate these rooms - but they are losing at least one person's business surely and consistently.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LouisB92 Fire Alarm caused by mischief ruined night
Unfortunately our visit was marred by an incident involving a fire alarm on the ninth floor. While I understand that safety procedures must be followed it would have been a little more helpful to have more explanation than an alarm that blared for more than an hour at a time when most guest are trying to get some sleep. Definitely tarnished my few as a SPG customer. Seriously doubting staying at this hospital again.

We would recommend this hotel for its location as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
While the staff was friendly and helpful, not all the room cleaning staff were thorough.
We do not feel the Sheraton Club amenities were up to par or that everything listed was offered.
In the survey items below we are checking some in both columns because some aspects met our expectations and others did not.

Excellent location near to the centre of Toronto. Clean well appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. We will definitely stay there again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Albert6 Early Morning Knock on Door
The Sheraton is a good hotel but they seem to be in a hurry to get you out when your time is up. On my second morning, I heard a knock on my door from the cleaning staff, at 9:00 a.m., about whether they could clean my room or not! I was completely exhausted after a non-stop week and I found this to be very intrusive as my checkout time scheduled for 12:00. If you are busy....you are busy....I appreciate my sleep.

Rated 3 out of 5 by backstagelurker This Hotel was **Meh
This hotel was busy so I cant hold that against them. The staff at the door were the friendliest people in the hotel. The front desk people were a bit crabby. I was VERY surpised that internet was not free in our rooms. There were too many kids and "parties" in the rooms. I hardly got any sleep, and it took me 35 to get anyopne on the line, THEN I had to go to the front desk. This situation was NOT dealt with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Carol Disappointed!
As an SPG member I was very unhappy with my room allocation this year- room 3118 was directly behind the elevator shaft and was unbelievably noisy. I endured 3 nights of restless sleep due to constant rattling and wall shaking from the elevator. I was so busy with conference planning that I didn't have time to complain and move rooms but I felt the room to be of the most basic type and its location untenable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ljl2 Valet is awful and staff is nice but not helpful
I am a platinum Starwood member who travels for business frequently...to Toronto on a monthly basis. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Major inconvenience...incompetent valet service and lack of staff assistance made me late for meetings two days in a row when I did my part and called down for car 20 mins in advance. Unacceptable and I was also very disappointed in managements handling of this situation!

My husband & I went for our 26th year anniversary during the 2013 Esther weekend. Awesome location, walking distance to allot of major attraction. The staff was awesome, special thanks to Semir at the front desk and Joanna in the club lounge . Room was clean and comfortable. The one thing that I would have like different is having firmer pillows. Other than that awesome experience . I recommend it to anyone.
