The hotel was wonderful! The Staff was great while we were at the hotel! Everything was Great! When I got home and looked at my receipt I discovered a Resort Fee which I was not made aware of along with a Parking fee again which I was not made aware of. Being in the hospitality business I find these fees as a "money grab" and am highly put off by extra fees. If you want to raise your rates do so, but don't keep adding unknown fees. What did I get for the Resort Fee? NOTHING that I know of. Valet Parking - yes my car was parked and I got two bottles of ice cold water when we checked out. Neither of which I think is worth $15 when the parking lot was within steps of the front door. Had I known this I would have parked my car myself. I loved the hotel and the renovation is superb, but I may have to think twice about staying myself and putting my groups at the hotel. I am a tour operator and was looking for some new hotels in the Orlando area. I had met one of your sales people in Jacksonville the week before and thought I'd try out the hotel on her recommendations. It is easy to add extra charges when customers pay with a credit card and then they are in a hurry in the morning and don't take the time to look at the bill at the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gingerbard Great hotel, great service!
This hotel is in the perfect place; easily accessible to all the parks. I came in this past weekend (2/24) to run in the DisneyWorld Princess 1/2 marathon and I brought my 2 year old bulldog. From the first night (I came in light), both Bard (the bulldog) and I were treated well. The staff came out to greet Bard; he is a ham and lapped up all the attention. The suite was lovely; the loss of one star was because there downstairs people were extremely loud.... perhaps sound proof sliders in the bedroom?
The bellhops walked Bard on Saturday and since he is well behaved kept him out for a while greeting other guests. By the time I got back to the room, he was completely passed out in his crate from all the attention. :D They seemed eager and happy to take care of him and went out of their way to assure me of his safety.
Highly recommend the restaurant, Zest. After the race the chef made me a wonderful omelet with fresh bread and fruit. Dinner was even better; it was great to not have to go out to dinner!
Checking out the staff came out to say good bye to Bard. I can't say enough about both the day staff and the night staff; people were friendly, helpful and just went above and beyond to make sure we were both comfortable. Definitely plan on staying at this hotel again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ed1950 Great staff/great facilities
My daughter had a great stay back in May. She found the new facilities outstanding and the entire staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing she missed out on was the extra SPG points for not having the linens changed. See didn't see the offer until she was packing up to leave. Otherwise, her stay could not have been better.
I've stayed at this property many times over the past dozen years or so. Years ago when vacationing with the family and our dog the safari suites were perfect. We always had great experiences. The staff was always great. Now the the kids are grown, my wife and I come down a couple times a year on our own and still have wonderful experiences. The renovations have made a great place to stay even better. Fortunately, the attitude of management and the staff has not changed. They are all still friendly, helpful and cannot do enough for the guests.
My only negative comment is that last time I was there, I was charged for parking. None of the other hotels/motels in the area charge for parking and I wonder why this one does. However, in spite of the parking charge, all the positive things about the property make paying this charge not a big deal.
I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, especially those traveling with children.
I would recommend this place

Rated 4 out of 5 by BigG1001 Great hotel and great stay
We have stayed at this hotel twice in the past two years, in March 2012 and October 2013. Each trip has been a really wonderful stay. The staff is extremely polite and always there to greet you with a smile and handshake. On our most recent trip, we were celebrating a birthday. They upgraded our hotel room and waived the resort fees to help me celebrate. I truly appreciated the gesture!
The shuttle to Disney is really convenient and allows you to fully enjoy the parks right across the street. The hotel pool, Jacuzzi, and pool bar were wonderful. We really enjoyed unwinding after a day of being out in the sun.
The only reason I do not give this hotel 5 starts is that the housekeeping staff could use a little improvement. During both stays, some of the basics were forgotten when our room was cleaned. Our first stay we had an issue with the top sheet not being put on the bed. During our last stay, we were not given any towels. In both instances, we had what we needed within 20 minutes. However, these are basics that shouldn't have really been left out.
Regardless of these minor issues, our stays at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista was outstanding! I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends and will continue to do so. We will also definitely be coming back again!
Thank you for a great stay!

Rated 3 out of 5 by RegRN Disneyworld ticket scam!
Our hotel room was clean and had a comfortable bed. Unfortunately the window air conditioner unit was very noisy when it was on, and it did not have the option to direct the vents in a certain direction.
The pool area was absolutely stunning, it felt like a mini oasis in the middle of the city.
My biggest complaint is with the hotel's theme park ticket services. I phoned the concierge to discuss purchasing Disneyworld tickets for the following day and I was told tickets could only be purchased in person at the concierge desk. My husband and I waited for over an hour in line at 9:00 at night, only to be told by Rebecca that she would sell the tickets only if we agreed to sign up for their vacation ownership seminar, which was to be held the following day. Our other option was to purchase tickets at 7:30 in the morning the day of. At no point during the earlier phone call, or while we stood in line, was this brought up. Furthermore, she could not provide us with information about shuttle times to and from the park. We complained upon check out and we were assured that one of the concierge managers would be in touch with us within the day. Seven days later, and we have yet to hear from anyone.
The shuttle service to and from the theme parks, while convenient, does not offer sufficient pick up and drop off times.

Rated 2 out of 5 by chuckp23 Unbearable noisy... thin walls and glass!!
My family and I have stayed here twice in the last 3 months for a total of 3 nights and honestly I would not return. Though the facility has been updated and the rooms are clean... I feel that it's fitting to say the renovations were like putting lipstick on a pig. The exterior is unimpressive and frankly a bit run down looking, but my biggest complaint is the noise. Our first visit was in a room facing the road, and unfortunately the traffic was so loud all night (through the thin sliding glass doors) we could hardly hear the TV without having it exceptionally loud... And my 16 month old couldn't sleep. That night we got a total of 4.5 hours sleep. The most recent time I stayed, I accidently rebooked at this hotel (to be honest thinking it was a different location) in a suite facing the pool. The night time activities were ridiculously loud as well as the screaming children by the pool, and running in the hallways. This hotel really needs better sound proofing, because between all this, again we only got an average of 5 hours of sleep. My husband said he actually needed a vacation from his vacation due to the lack of sleep.... I would only recommend this hotel to families with much older children, who aren't bothered by loud video games, movies, and screaming kids outside by the pool until 11 at night. For those with a younger child who go to be before this, look elsewhere or be prepared to deal with an overly tired child who can't sleep.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Honestbroker Nicely remodeled property
The hotel has been nicely remodeled. The lobby is contemporary and attractive. The buffet breakfast far better than what one would expect at a comparable hotel. The pool area is beautifully maintained and staffed with attentive spa personnel.
We encountered two disappointments. First, while our room was clean, among the first things I noticed was a stain on the comforter. Honestly did not want to think about it an just pulled the comforter off the bed. Sheets appeared to be very clean.
Secondly, we had hoped to rely on the advertised shuttle service to take us back and forth between the parks. The shuttle bus, when it first arrived, was old but clean. The return shuttle was even older and less clean, and very crowded (people standing in the aisle). In addition to quality issues, the shuttle did not run fruquently enough. My wife and I remarked that other hotel shuttles looked much cleaner as we saw several from the same hotel come and go from the park pickup area while we waited for our single, dilapidated, overly crowded bus to come and get us.
Next time we come, we'll try one of the properties advertised on one of their gleaming and frequent shuttle buses we saw while waiting for ours. We had plenty of opportunity to memorize the names of them while waiting on the hot pavement with tired children. Or, we'll just plan to drive to the park.
If you find the Sheraton to be a true bargain and are willing to drive to the park, it's a good place to stay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AngelM Unsatisfactory :(
Last week, we stayed at this resort for one night and booked 2 family suites (guys room/girls room. We took our 14 youth kids for our annual summer retreat and with 8 females/males in each room the suites worked out perfect when it came to sleeping arrangements. However, the rooms itself smelled of estranged odor and the front door knob broke off restricting us from being able to open the door...The next day was a nightmare. The boys shower faucet broke as well as the bathroom light. A worker came to fix everything which took over an hour and at that point 8 boys still needed to shower and we were already behind schedule to check out and get on with our plans for the day. The most annoying/upsetting part of our stay was when I went to the front desk to ask for a printout of my bill, I had charges on my account (extra beds, food misc.) that should not have been there. It took some time for the receptionist to clear those false charges. When I got home later that evening I got an email from Sheraton with copies of my bill. I ended up calling Sheraton wasting more time because those false charges MAGICALLY got put back on my bill. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay and regret booking this resort. No doubt it's in a good location, but I am still in shock with how much unnecessary inconveniences I had to deal with while staying there when I should have been spending more time with the kids and less time complaining for service at the front desk.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GeoG New experience
I have stayed multiple times at this property for both business and pleasure. This time something was off and absolutely different (and not in a good way). I had requested a certain type of suite since I was traveling with family this trip and requested an early arrival. When I booked my reservation, As a platinum member, I was told that should not be an issue and it would be done. Since I had great experiences before I trusted and thought why check if I was told it would be done. Upon my arrival, the parking attendants were as friendly and nice as always; however, the 2 front desk ladies were apparently having a bad day ( I checked in on Saturday 11/2/13 at 1:00pm) I was immediately told I was way too early and check in was not until 3:00pm. I told them that I had called when I made my reservation, and as a platinum member I was told it was ok to check in early. Apparently that upset them. My room was finally ready at 2:48 pm and it was not the type I had requested, when I tried to explain, the second lady told me in no certain terms: “how many people are with you? When I tried to explain why I needed the type of room, she cut me mid-sentence and said: “you are not answering my question and anyways this room accommodates the number of people we are full and just be happy with it”. A very poor experience considering I have stayed here in multiple occasions and had excellent experiences in all cases. I was planning on staying here again next month, but with this last experience maybe a different property will do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by anthonyad Thank you from the Aduhene Family for a great holiday
For many of us from the UK a trip to Florida and Disney World is a once in a life time opportunity and the cost is significant. One of the most important aspect of a trip, such as the one we took, is the quality of the accommodation. The Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort by a very long way exceeded our expectations. If it was possible I would have given them 7 Stars. From the moment we arrived after a 12 hour journey Michelle Mantor (sorry if that is spelt wrong Michelle) made us feel very welcome. Seeing that we had three children she immediately upgraded our room to give us two bunk beds and a whole lot more space. We really appreciated that. Throughout our stay at the Sheraton the staff were unfailingly kind and helpful. Every time we asked for iced water it was either bought to our room or freely given in the bar. One of the concierges (is that how you spell it) Jonathan made such an impact on my children that they were upset when we was not on duty.
The swimming pool and hot tubs were excellent and we were delighted to find fresh clean towels available to use on a daily basis. Again my children were taken by the very friendly nature of one of the barman, Danny Nicholls.
I cannot thank the hotel staff enough for making a very large contribution to what was by far our best family holiday ever.
If you want somewhere good - no, great - to stay, I would highly recommend the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort. A stones through from the Walt Disney World Resort.
Thank you again from Anthony, Michelle, Abygail, Izaiah and Yden (Nottingham, England)

Rated 5 out of 5 by BrienK Great stay at the transformed Sheraton
My family including a seven and five year old boy stayed for about a week at the resort. Fortunately we were here when most of the renovations were complete. The concerns of past reviews with noise and disorder were not an issue during our stay. When arriving, the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Elizabeth was great and even knew my name when I needed a key to the room as I locked myself out. The biggest draw for my family is the pool facility. Having two energized boys the zero entry pool, water spouts, whirlpools, and of course the water slide kept them entertained when we got back from Disney. They also have a LCD projector and in the pool area show movies. We saw the Olympics in prime time on a few nights. They also have a good assortment of food and drinks at the bar at reasonable prices. As for the room we got a standard two queen beds. It was a decent size and was recently renovated. Another bonus is the shuttle to Disney Parks. We used in mainly in afternoon/evening as we wanted to arrive early in the park. Service was good and we were one of the first stops on the way back to the hotels.
Some minor items of concern
1. The hot water for some reason would not come immediately in our room. I felt bad as I would have to run it a few minutes before it would become hot.
2. Internet service was spotty at best. It worked well in the lobby but if the hotel is going to charge 9.95 a night then it should work in all rooms at a decent speed.
Other than that I was very pleased with our stay at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort.

Honestly, in terms of location and proximity to Disney World, this is a fine location. The complimentary bus shuttle to Disney World was extremely useful, appreciated, & free!
This Sheraton is made up of four buildings. The main building (where you check-in) is the only part of the hotel that has interior-corridor rooms (I think). The other 3 buildings (called Palms 2, 3, or 4) have exterior-corridor access. I was in Palm 4 and felt the exterior part of the building to be dated. The elevator in Palm 4 is dirty and most likely a multi-purpose elevator used by guests and housekeeping staff, alike. Palm 4 is "suite-style" arrangements.
Our room was fine and up to date. I wish the room was better vacuumed because long strands of hair were tracked into the tiled-bathroom. The air-conditioner is loud, but that was solved by wearing earplugs. I know this hotel has gone through significant renovation, but if there's a "phase II" project, I hope that it'll involve replacing the AC units in the Palms buildings.
The staff were friendly and very helpful, right from the parking valet to check-in to guest services. I received two drink vouchers to be used at the hotel bar (thanks to Gold Status, I think). The bartender accepted them without issue.
If you don't like children, then perhaps you may want to consider another hotel. Lots of families and children use the pools. Since the kids are on vacation, I observed that they're probably letting out ALOT of energy....be prepared. I applaud the pool-manager in trying to keep order and safety, particularly around the water slide. The pools remain open until 11pm, but I think the outdoor "tiki" bar remains open until later.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chrissypjw Hotel Nice but Parking should be free
I travel at least once a year to this area and always stay at a Disney resort. I was looking forward to giving a different hotel (close to Disney) a chance to see if it measures up. The front desk employee at check in was very cold and unaccommodating; I believe she may have been a manager. (She wore a tan suit jacket and had long dark hair) First impressions are big for me and will determine if I return or not. There are fees for parking, an extra cot, microwave, etc.. You do not find this in Disney. (The cot was not for an additional person either; it was because my mother found the bed uncomfortable and she has rods and pins in her neck) The room was nice and the view of the pool was very pretty. The housekeeping staff was very responsive and pleasant. The young men that worked at the front desk were very helpful and friendly; they assisted us with park and local travel information. There was no where in the in the hotel however to get change for the washers. I had to drive somewhere for quarters because the woman at the front desk said that she was 'all out'. I donot believe that I would return however due to the way we were treated upon check-in. After our stay at the Sheraton, we decided to stay 4 additional days so we checked out and went to a hotel at Disney. Even though the room was a little more money and the housekeeping staff was comparable at both hotels, I would probably choose to pay the extra money and stay for the entire trip at Disney when I return due to, again, the way we were treated upon arrival. There was also no control in the late evening hours (after midnight) of the noise at the pool. Several of us had to call to have someone ask the people drinking to please keep the noise down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WolfReview Miami Style: Renovated Resort Remade
Much more Miami than Orlando now that the hotel has been renovated into a "resort." Very close to Disney. Nice restaurant and excellent food with great service-- though it was really large and not many of the touristy families seemed to be eating there. The hotel is walking distance to lots of restaurants.
I would agree with some of the other posts who complained about some of the "fees" like the resort fee which does not include internet access (how much can free wifi set the hotel back???) and $10 to park is crazy, and the "no late checkouts" for SPG members-- that's got to be a sore point to others who have shown loyalty to the brand.
We did stay at this hotel twice-- so we did really like the pool and bar-- the bartenders were really great-- and the food at the bar was very reasonably priced.
The front desk staff was a bit less than friendly-- quite surprisingly. But this has more to do with management than with the employees as they seemed to be nice people, but were unaware of the fact they were being rude to the guests.
They do have a really nice fitness center and coffee bar. And there's a Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins across the street.
Definitely ask for a pool view room. It was much better than the street view (which was too bright and noisy).
I can overlook the shortcoming to see that this is/will be a great hotel if they can get it together-- and I had a great stay. The restaurant staff and bartenders were great. Each room was a good size and clean. The pool view room was a better experience and would recommend the upgrade-- and would have appreciated a switch at checkin but none was offered. And the location so close to Disney was a benefit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mdsjlh Avoid the "Executive Suite", but they solved it.
We recently stayed 3 nights here. To preface, we've stayed at Sheratons all over the place with the Starwood network and have always really liked them. In this case, we were disappointed that they couldn't guarantee us 2 adjoining rooms, so we paid extra and reserved the large Executive Suite instead, as we had the whole family along including young kids. Seemed like a great fix. But, the room turned out to be horrible. First off the decor screamed 70s (although it's clear they were trying to go for hip/retro). But, felt a little dingy/old. It's located in a tiled hallway that is open-air to the lobby and elevator shaft. It was like sleeping in a locker room. Voices, kids yelling, luggage banging, front desk phone ringing all night, etc. We didn't sleep till almost 2 AM aftter stuffing towels around the whole door to muffle some of the noise. Then, to cap it all off, there was a prom on site that night so we heard the music from that till midnight. We called the front desk and they said they'd send security but nothing changed.
The good news is that the next day they moved us to the top floor, at the end of the hall with 2 adjoining rooms. Much nicer, more comfortable and quiet. So, kudos for that.
The last complaint we had though was the shuttle service to the parks. The times are very infrequent and the buses looked like they'd been through a bumper cars course. We were surprised to see such shoddy transportation for a Sheraton. It worked, but we really had to struggle to figure out how to get back and forth each day with kids.
With that said, I'll give staff credit for really trying to make things better and they were all friendly (especially the bell hops). So, it ended up OK. Just disappointing based on stays at other Sheratons around the country.

Rated 2 out of 5 by John88 Value of Service Given Price Paid
This hotel provided me with a below-average hotel stay experience. The lobby was impressive, the pool area was incredible, and the food was delicious especially the food provided at pool, event the location was phenomenal.
The areas I felt had opportunities for improvement were the following. Upon walking into the room, I was welcomed by a strange scent, not horrible, but not pleasing either. Once the air started circulating it went away, I thought it must have been just a one-time occurrence, until the following day. Once I returned from the road, housekeeping had cleaned the room it is then that I noticed that the smell was actually the fragrance that is used as part of the cleaning solution, honestly not too appealing for my taste.
Another area for improvement would be value of service given price paid. For my stay I paid for three nights, plus resort fee and taxes. I felt throughout my entire stay that I was being squeezed for every small request I made. Self-parking is a $12 daily charge, valet is a $15 daily charge. I needed to connect my laptop to the internet so that I can connect to my corporate office via VPN, and there is no complimentary Wi-Fi in the hotel, not in your room, lobby, or pool area. You need to provide a credit card to be charged per minute used, and if you don’t have a credit card on you, you would need to charge to your room the 24hr access. On the second night at around 1030PM, I needed to warm up something in a microwave, the only microwave in the building for public use was in the Marketplace, which closes at 10pm. When I called guest service, they advised me of a $10 per day fee for a microwave to be brought up to your room. I spoke with the front desk manager at the time, I explained to her that I needed a microwave to heat something up for 45secs and didn’t want to be charge $10; it just didn’t seem fair. She agreed and told me she would have one brought up to me for me to use, I was pleased. That is until the microwave did not show up until mid-night, at which I no longer had a need for it nor want it. I left the resort asking myself, what was included with the resort fee I paid if, I had to pay for parking, pay for internet, and a microwave??

Rated 2 out of 5 by bseven OK but some major issues
Big takeaway: Just got back to my room and was alarmed to see the door left ajar and unlocked. I saw cleaning carts a few doors down but there was literally nobody watching my room. Everything seems to be here, but I called guest services anyway as an FYI to inform them that there's likely a policy or compliance issue. Security guy came around to explain that supervisors were around (I didn't see any, and I don't see how that makes this OK), offered a quick apology, asked if I wanted to file a report (I'm not sure for what, so I said no) and went on his way. I don't expect anything, but an acknowledgement of the problem and some hint of genuine concern, contrition, or maybe even a smile would have been nice. I got the feeling that nobody was really alarmed that my room was completely left open, or perhaps even slightly annoyed that I called. I don't think I'm being awful petty about it. I'm a nice guy and quite easy to please. This is unfortunate, because I think that's a disservice to the excellent front desk and restaurant staff who clearly work hard on behalf of their employer. My sentiments about this situation were completely avoidable and easily reversable; I'm just bothered that nobody seems to care.
1. No standard room was available, got a family suite all to myself, which was cool. Thing about this is it's really loud until 9 or 10 pm right next to the pool, and well, I like to nap. The noise levels were too much for me to even read a book in peace. I guess this is a family resort though, so perhaps that is expected, I wouldn't know.
2. More on sound - the big windows let in a lot of noise. You can hear the service carts rolling beside and above you all day long. The air conditioners are rattly and loud. You can always hear people walking above you. The service workers also like to talk or even yell towards each other, which I understand, but it really adds to the cacophony of noise all around you.
3. The washroom I have is adequate but dated. Not a fan of the shower head and the water smells kinda funny.
4. The towels did not look particularly clean - saw some stains.
5. There aren't any privacy door cards - I slept in one morning and was woken up by a cleaning person opening my door. I understand she couldn't have possibly known I was still in there, but a simple door card would have prevented the situation.
6. WiFi can be slow at times, but this seems to be par for the course unfortunately wherever I go.
1. The burgers, which can be cooked to medium-rare, are fantastic. Seriously, they are good.
2. Most of the staff I encountered are really nice.
3. The family suite is huge and has 2 TVs.
4. Not my bag, but the pool area looks fantastic and the outdoor grill is quite nice.
5. Location is great - proximity to food, retail and Disney.
